Overview

Quadri gives project participants a central model to share as a common reference for project data. It is broader than a stand-alone estimating or scheduling tool: the emphasis is on coordinating model changes, tracking issues and carrying project information into construction records.

That breadth makes it most relevant to infrastructure organizations already coordinating across disciplines and project stages. Teams looking only for a lightweight estimating tool or a browser-based model viewer should weigh the paid license and desktop requirements carefully.

Key features

Shared model and issue follow-up

Cloud model sharing gives participants a common source for project information. Quadri connects model modifications to work processes and uses notifications and alerts to help teams track or clarify issues. That is a practical advantage when many participants need to follow changes; it is less compelling for a one-off takeoff that does not need ongoing coordination.

Views, quantities and as-built records

Users can inspect 3D, longitudinal and cross-section views, then use table views for quantity takeoff across the model. As construction progresses, teams can capture digital assets in an as-built model and keep project documentation updated. This links design review and quantities with construction records, though the product’s value depends on using that wider workflow rather than just one capability.

Connections and planning

Connectors include Trimble Connect, Novapoint, Trimble Business Center, Tekla Structures, SketchUp, Tilos, Quantm, ProjectWise, Rhino Grasshopper, Open Roads Designer, Revit and Civil 3D. APIs can be used to tailor features and workflows and bring data into Quadri. Quantm can evaluate road or rail corridor alignment alternatives, while Quadri can forecast CO2 emissions for construction and road or rail use to support sustainability planning.

Pricing

Quadri Viewer: 0.00 USD per free. This read-only display tool supports model viewing and commenting, plus distance and area measurements. It suits project managers and construction decision makers who need to review a model without editing it; it does not replace a full Quadri license.

Trimble Quadri: custom pricing. Full use requires a Quadri license, Trimble Identity credentials and an installation. Pricing is on request, and a 30-day trial is offered. The Viewer is the no-cost route for limited review, while teams needing the full collaboration and project workflow must pursue a paid license.

Platforms

Quadri supports Windows, web, API and self-hosted deployment, with Connected Projects and On-Premise projects described as deployment options. The listed Windows requirements include at least 32 GB of RAM, 50 GB of free disk space and an internet connection for cloud features. Those requirements make it a poor fit for teams expecting a light desktop install or a cloud-only workflow on modest hardware.

Version support also matters: Quadri for Windows 2024 reached end of life on May 1, 2026. End-of-life versions no longer receive technical assistance, bug fixes, updates or security patches, so organizations should plan around supported versions rather than remain on that release. Support services are open on workdays from 09:00 to 16:00 GMT+1; users without a support agreement are directed to a local dealer or email support.

Who it's for

Quadri is a fit for infrastructure project participants who need to coordinate model information across disciplines and carry it through design, construction and as-built documentation. Its shared model, issue follow-up, takeoff and corridor planning give road and rail teams a connected working environment. It is not the obvious choice for a small team seeking a simple estimating utility, or for anyone unwilling to manage a licensed Windows installation with substantial system resources.

Pros and cons

Pros

Connects coordination to follow-up: model changes can be tied to work processes, with alerts to help teams keep issues moving.
Combines model review and takeoff: 3D, longitudinal, cross-section and table views support inspection and quantities from the model.
Supports continuity into construction: digital assets can be captured in an as-built model while documentation is updated.
Broad integration and planning scope: listed connectors, APIs, alignment evaluation and emissions forecasting extend its use across infrastructure workflows.
Free review option: the Viewer provides read-only model viewing, comments and measurements at 0.00 USD per free.

Cons

Full use requires a license: the paid product uses custom pricing, so teams need to contact sales to establish cost.
Resource-intensive Windows requirements: at least 32 GB RAM and 50 GB free disk space are significant prerequisites.
Viewer is limited: its read-only access makes it unsuitable for teams that need full Quadri workflows.
Version lifecycle needs attention: the 2024 Windows release is past end of life and no longer receives fixes or security patches.

Buildxact is worth considering for readers seeking a freemium, web and mobile option with a free plan and trial; its Go plan includes five complimentary credits, AI estimating, professional proposals and Home Depot material ordering. Trimble Viewpoint Vista is another paid Trimble product, with cloud-hosted and on-premises deployments and a free plan. Jestimate is a freemium web alternative with a free tier. PlanningPoker.live is a freemium web and extension option with public source code. STACK offers a free plan capped at one active project per month, 300 plan pages, 50 measurements per project and one viewer seat. ConEst IntelliBid is a paid alternative whose price depends on edition and number of users, with supplier pricing services licensed separately. Planning Poker Online is a freemium web alternative with a free trial. UltimatePlanningPoker is a free web tool for planning poker, backlog refinement and sprint retrospectives without sign-up.

Verdict

Choose Quadri if your infrastructure team needs a shared model that connects coordination, quantities, issue follow-up and as-built records across disciplines. The strongest reason to choose it is that breadth in a single project workflow; the strongest reason to look elsewhere is the combination of custom-priced licensing and demanding Windows requirements. The free Viewer is useful for limited read-only participation, not a substitute for the full product.
