Overview

Robin brings individual contract review together with analysis across contract repositories, legal research and deadline management. Clickable citations let users verify answers in source documents, which is important when contract language needs to be checked rather than taken on trust. Research answers can draw on publicly available authoritative legal sources, extending its reach beyond a company’s own files.

This combination is a stronger fit for teams managing both live agreements and a wider contract portfolio than for buyers seeking only a lightweight review assistant. Robin also supports more than 200 languages, although accepted Legal Library uploads are limited to PDF and Microsoft Word DOC and DOCX files; other formats need conversion first.

Key features

Review, drafting and research

The Legal AI Assistant provides suggested edits, summaries and document information in a Microsoft Word Add-In. Live editing with legal AI and precedent documents keeps review within a familiar drafting environment. That makes Robin relevant to lawyers whose work is centered on Word, while teams using other formats will need to account for conversion before adding files to the Legal Library.

For repository work, Robin searches agreements and identifies trends and patterns across related documents and contract families. Clickable source citations help users trace those answers back to primary documents. Out-of-the-box integrations support one-click bulk document imports, a useful capability for teams moving larger collections into analysis.

Obligations and operations

Tasks, reminders and dashboards track renewals and deadlines, connecting contract analysis to follow-up work. These workflows can help legal teams keep obligations visible after review; buyers who need only document editing may not need this broader operational layer.

Security and support

Robin says customer data is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit using TLS. It says it will not use customer data for model training, fine-tuning or feature development without express consent, and identifies ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certifications. Robin also says it is GDPR compliant. Its Help Center offers support requests and guides covering setup, permissions, Word, workspaces and the Legal Library.

Pricing

Robin is a paid product with custom pricing; contact Robin for a quote. A free self-serve offering for SMEs has been announced, but its access terms and limits are not defined, so it should not be treated as a dependable no-cost plan for budgeting.

A free trial is available, but access to features, functionality or storage may be restricted during the trial. After it ends, trial access and uploaded content are suspended; Robin may permanently delete data if the customer does not upgrade within 30 days. Teams evaluating sensitive documents should settle the upgrade decision and data-retention implications before uploading them.

Platforms

Robin is available on the web and as an extension, with a Microsoft Word Add-In for review, summaries and document search. Its listed supported platforms also include web access. The Word integration is the clearest fit for drafting-centered teams; the web experience supports repository and workflow use.

Who it's for

Robin serves multinational corporations, SMEs and scale-ups, with specialist support for larger businesses. It is most suitable for legal teams that need contract review in Word, analysis across agreement collections, citation-backed answers and structured renewal or deadline workflows. It is less suited to buyers who need a published price, predictable trial access or broad upload-format support without conversion.

Pros and cons

Pros: Citations link answers to underlying documents, making contract and repository findings easier to verify.
Pros: Word-based review and editing sit alongside repository search, legal research and obligation tracking, covering work beyond a single document.
Pros: Robin states customer data is not used for model development without express consent and describes encryption and ISO 27001 and SOC 2 certification.
Cons: Custom pricing gives buyers no published figure for comparing costs before contacting sales.
Cons: Trial access and uploaded content are suspended afterward, and data may be permanently deleted if the customer does not upgrade within 30 days.
Cons: Legal Library uploads accept PDF, DOC and DOCX only; other files must be converted.
Cons: The announced SME free access has no defined terms or limits to plan around.
