Overview

The editor brings uploaded media, text, color choices, music, and voiceover into one slideshow workflow. Templates such as Polaroid Frames, Fragmented Transitions, and Flower Garden Photo Gallery provide a ready-made visual structure; scene-duration controls let you adjust pacing rather than accept a fixed sequence. That makes it a practical fit for straightforward, designed presentations, though it is less compelling if you need guaranteed high-resolution exports without a paid subscription.

Slideshow exports range from 360p to HD1080 depending on the subscription, while the broader plan range includes UHD 4K exports. Slideshow duration varies by plan from 3 to 60 minutes. Those caps make the plan choice relevant not just to polish but to whether a particular project can be delivered at its intended quality and length.

Key features

Templates and editing: Upload photos and videos, choose colors, and set the duration of each scene. The templates speed up visual assembly, while per-scene timing helps for slideshows that need deliberate pacing.
Music and voiceover: Add MP3 or WAV files up to 50 MB. Dropbox and Google Drive connections in Renderforest’s video editor provide another way to bring in music or voiceover.
Export and sharing: Download the finished video or share it on social platforms from the editor. The maximum export resolution reaches 4K on the plan range, but slideshow quality and duration vary by subscription.
Branding: Brand kit and custom logo upload support branded work, which is useful for business and promotional slideshows.
API: Renderforest provides a public REST API and Node.js and PHP SDKs. API rendering requires an active subscription, so it is not a free route to automated production.
Privacy and support: Renderforest says it processes personal data under GDPR and UK GDPR and uses encryption in transit, access controls, and secure infrastructure. Support is available at support@renderforest.com.

Pricing

The pricing model is freemium, with no free trial. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes basic features and HD video exports with a watermark. It can establish whether the workflow suits a project, but the watermark limits its usefulness for client-ready or public-facing work.

Lite — 8.00 USD per year (billed $8 per month, billed yearly): Includes 400 AI credits per month, 5 HD720 template exports, and 10 GB of storage. It is the lowest-cost paid option, but the five-export quota and HD720 ceiling make it a constrained choice for regular or higher-resolution publishing.
Pro — 19.00 USD per year (billed $19 per month, billed yearly): Includes 1,600 AI credits per month, unlimited HD720 AI video creations, unlimited HD1080 template exports, and 50 GB of storage. This suits frequent template exports when HD1080 is enough; it is a substantial step up from Lite in export allowance and storage.
Business — 39.00 USD per year (billed $39 per month, billed yearly): Includes 3,000 AI credits per month, UHD 4K exports, and access to more than 5 million stock footage, music, and photo assets. It is the clearest fit for teams or businesses that need 4K and a broad asset library, though its value depends on using those capabilities.

All three paid prices are billed yearly at the stated monthly rate. The free plan’s watermark and the differences in export ceilings and allowances are the main reasons to move up; buyers should match the plan to their slideshow resolution and volume rather than assume every tier offers the same export terms.

Platforms

Renderforest Slideshow Maker is available on web, Android, and iOS. The API is also listed as a platform, with rendering requiring an active subscription.

Who it's for

Renderforest describes its platform as serving freelancers, startups, and small businesses creating commercial, promotional, and marketing materials. The slideshow maker is a sensible choice for those users when templates, branding, music, and adjustable scene timing are more important than an unrestricted free export. It is a weaker fit for anyone who needs watermark-free output at no cost or whose projects exceed the duration or quality allowed by their plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: Templates and per-scene duration controls combine fast setup with useful pacing adjustments.
Pro: Music and voiceover support includes MP3 and WAV uploads, plus Dropbox and Google Drive connections through the video editor.
Pro: The plan range reaches UHD 4K and includes brand kit and custom logo support for branded output.
Con: Free HD exports carry a watermark, so the no-cost plan is not suitable for clean final delivery.
Con: Export quality, slideshow duration, and template-export allowances vary by subscription, requiring buyers to check fit before committing.
Con: API rendering requires an active subscription, which excludes free automation.

Alternatives

Consider Videobolt if its 20,900+ templates, 720p exports, and up-to-10-minute videos on the Lite Unlimited plan better suit a template-heavy workflow; that plan is 9.99 EUR per year, billed per month billed annually, and includes 20GB cloud storage. Choose Typito if monthly export-duration limits suit your needs: its free plan allows 30 minutes of exports per month with Typito branding, while Solo is 15.00 USD per month, billed annually, for up to 600 minutes.

Animaker is another freemium option, with basic animation tools, limited premium assets, and watermarked exports on its free plan. Zawa offers daily free credits for image, short video, and brand set generation. Powtoon has a free plan with 720p exports up to three minutes, screen recording, basic templates and characters, and a watermark. LazyKiwi has a free plan with 40 credits per month and a Starter plan at 14.00 USD per month with 4,500 credits per month and two parallel tasks. MakeWebVideo is a paid option without a free plan. HeyGen has a free plan limited to three videos per month and one minute per video.

Verdict

Renderforest Slideshow Maker is best for freelancers and small businesses that want a template-based way to assemble branded slideshows with custom pacing and audio. Its strongest reason to choose it is the combination of ready-made designs, scene-level timing, and plans reaching 4K. Look elsewhere if you need watermark-free free exports or predictable resolution and duration without choosing among plan-dependent limits.
