Overview

RegFox is an event registration platform for organizers who need attendee sign-ups alongside ticket sales and event-day operations. Its range of tools suits teams coordinating attendees and exhibitors in one service, but the per-registration charges—including for free events—deserve close attention.

The service is available on web, iOS, and Android. RegFox was founded in 2008 and is headquartered in Sacramento, California.

Key features

Registration and event operations

Registration forms and ticketing cover the core path from sign-up to paid admission. Onsite check-in and an attendee app extend the offering to event day, while exhibitor tools may help organizers managing more than attendee registration alone.

Attendee communication

Attendee email and event email tools provide communication capabilities alongside registration. Together with the attendee app, they make RegFox a broader event service than a registration form tool, though the plan information does not distinguish these features by tier.

Pricing

RegFox has a free plan and paid plans. Standard and Premium both cost $0/month, billed monthly, but they charge per registration; a free plan does not mean free event processing.

Plan	Price and fees	Best fit
Standard	$0/month, billed monthly; $0.99 + 1% per paid registration, capped at $4.99 per registrant; $0.99 per registrant for free events.	Organizers seeking the lower per-registration fees without a monthly subscription.
Premium	$0/month, billed monthly; $1.99 + 1% per paid registration, capped at $5.99 per registrant; $1.99 per registrant for free events.	Organizers who prefer this tier’s pricing structure, while accepting higher stated fees than Standard.
Professional	$499/month, billed annually; $1.99 + 1% per paid registration, capped at $5.99 per registrant; $0.99 per registrant for free events.	Organizers prepared to commit annually to a monthly subscription, particularly if the lower free-event fee matters.

Standard has the lowest stated charges for paid registrations and free events among these plans, while Professional pairs a $499/month annual commitment with the same paid-event fee and cap as Premium. Premium costs no monthly subscription but has the highest stated fee for free events. Compare expected registrations and event types before choosing: fees on free events can add up even when tickets cost nothing.

Platforms

RegFox supports web, iOS, and Android, giving organizers and attendees access across browser and mobile platforms.

Who it's for

RegFox is a sensible fit for organizers who want forms and ticketing together with check-in, attendee communication, an attendee app, and exhibitor tools. It is less compelling for events with many free registrants if the per-person charge outweighs the benefit of a $0/month tier, or for buyers who do not want Professional’s annual billing commitment.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad event workflow: Forms, ticketing, onsite check-in, an attendee app, email tools, and exhibitor tools span registration and event operations.
Choice of fee structures: Standard and Premium have no monthly subscription, and Professional has a lower free-event charge than Premium.
Paid-event fee caps: Standard caps the stated paid-event fee at $4.99 per registrant; Premium and Professional cap it at $5.99.

Cons

Free events still incur per-registrant fees: Standard and Professional charge $0.99 per registrant, while Premium charges $1.99.
Professional requires annual billing: Its $499/month price is billed annually, a substantial commitment compared with the $0/month plans.
Premium’s fees are higher than Standard’s: Its paid-event cap is $5.99 rather than $4.99, and its free-event charge is $1.99 rather than $0.99 per registrant.

Alternatives

Humanitix may suit organizers prioritizing no ticket fee for free events; its Standard plan charges $0.99 per month per paid ticket, with a 2.1% booking fee.

RunSignup is a relevant option for event registration where a $0 cart has no processing fee; its registration processing fee is priced per cart.

Cvent offers a registration product that can be tried for free and custom pricing for its Professional plan.

Kindest Events has a free Kickstart plan with three admin seats and a 5% platform fee, waived for the first $50K of the first year.

Eventbrite may be preferable for free-ticket events: its free event publishing plan has no ticketing fees for free tickets, and free events can be any size.

Zoho Backstage is an option for smaller events with a free plan capped at 100 attendees per event, 300 RSVP invites, three sessions, three speakers, and one event day.

Verdict

Choose RegFox if you want registration, ticketing, and event operations—including onsite check-in and exhibitor tools—in one service, and its per-registration charges fit your event economics. Look elsewhere if you need free-event registration without a per-attendee fee or want to avoid Professional’s annual commitment.
