Overview

Quaily is a newsletter and membership platform for creators who want to publish in several places and sell premium content. It is best suited to independent publishers building a branded community; its free plan lowers the barrier to starting, while hosted-payment deductions and Credit charges can affect the economics as a publication grows.

Key features

Writers can compose in a browser or work with posts through Quaily’s Obsidian plugin and command-line tool. AI can generate slugs, summaries, tags and tweet threads, translate posts, and assist with writing through a beta feature. This is a useful mix for creators who want help with both drafting and distribution, but some advanced tasks—such as extra sending quota, manually adding subscribers, and importing posts from the internet—consume Credits.

Quaily connects publishing to Telegram, Discord, LINE, X, Bluesky and Slack. Authors can sell articles, columns, courses and other content through premium subscriptions. Premium posts, cross-publishing, Atom feeds, analytics and data export round out the publishing toolkit, while custom domains and logos let creators retain a distinct publication identity.

Creators moving an established publication can migrate subscribers, content, orders and payment methods from services including Substack, WordPress, Patreon, Ghost and Medium. That can make a switch less disruptive. Quaily also documents blockchain payments on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Base and Solana, and offers a Discord community for creators, readers and developers seeking help.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free. Everything is free until the creator starts earning; after that, Quaily charges a 10% commission plus channel transaction fees. This makes it a low-commitment way to launch and build a publication, but it is not a no-cost option once revenue begins.

For Quaily-hosted payments, the stated deductions include a 10% platform fee, Stripe payment settlement fees and 10% consumption tax. Creators should account for those deductions before setting subscription prices or relying on paid content as a revenue stream. Some advanced writing and audience-management actions also use Credits, so the free starting point does not mean every workflow is unlimited.

Platforms

Quaily supports web, Linux, macOS and Windows, and lists an API. Browser writing, an Obsidian plugin and a command-line tool give creators several ways to work with posts, while publishing integrations carry content to social and messaging services.

Who it's for

Quaily is a good fit for independent writers and creators who want to combine newsletters, paid memberships and broader distribution under their own branding. It is especially compelling for publishers who value migration support or already use the listed channel integrations. Creators who need predictable net revenue from subscriptions should compare the payment deductions and Credit-based charges carefully; those seeking only a basic email newsletter may not need its wider membership and publishing toolkit.

Pros and cons

Pros: The free plan lets creators start without an upfront subscription charge, and browser, Obsidian and command-line writing options support different workflows.
Pros: Paid articles, columns and courses, plus cross-publishing and six named integrations, support a publication that reaches readers beyond email.
Pros: Custom domains, creator logos, data export and migration of subscribers, content, orders and payment methods help creators retain control when building or moving a publication.
Cons: Hosted payments incur a 10% platform fee, Stripe settlement fees and 10% consumption tax, reducing proceeds from paid content.
Cons: Credits apply to some advanced tasks, including extra sending quota, manual subscriber additions and internet-post imports, so usage can carry costs beyond the free starting plan.

Alternatives

For a conventional email newsletter with a clearly defined free audience cap, AWeber offers a free plan with up to 500 subscribers and 3,000 monthly emails. Feeder is the alternative for readers who want to follow feeds, with its free plan covering 200 feeds, 30-minute updates and two AI summaries a day. Audienceful is worth considering for email marketing centered on contacts and automated journeys: its free plan includes 1,000 contacts, one team collaborator and one automated journey.

DailyDraft is another option. Distill may suit publishers who want a subscriber-based newsletter plan, with its Starter tier priced at 12.00 USD per month for 1,000 subscribers and three newsletters. Letter offers a free plan for one letter, while Reduce offers a free basic plan for digest creation. Welcome.AI Plus is a free option for following companies and categories and receiving AI briefings and personalized digest email. Verdict

Choose Quaily if you want a branded creator publication that combines premium memberships, flexible writing tools and distribution beyond email, especially if you are moving an existing audience. Its free plan makes it approachable, but the 10% platform fee, payment deductions and Credit-based advanced actions are the main reasons to look elsewhere if you need predictable monetization costs or only a straightforward newsletter service.
