Overview

Yotpo Reviews helps online sellers gather customer reviews, photos, and videos and put them in front of shoppers. It is best suited to commerce teams that want collection, moderation, display, and distribution tools in one product. Its order-based plan limits and platform-dependent feature support make plan fit worth checking before committing.

Key features

Collect and present customer content

Automated post-purchase requests go out by email or SMS, with in-email forms and reminders to prompt responses. Photo and video submissions and review importing broaden the content available to display. For stores with enough review volume to make social proof useful, customizable widgets, carousels, star ratings, highlights, sorting, and AI summaries offer several ways to surface it; these options are less compelling for a small store still building its review base.

Moderate and distribute

Teams can approve reviews themselves or set automatic publishing rules by rating and sentiment, with spam and profanity filters as safeguards. That can reduce routine moderation work while leaving teams control over what appears. Yotpo says reviews can be syndicated to Google, Meta, TikTok Shop, the Shop App, and retail partners, extending their reach beyond a store site.

Integrations, API, and security

Connections include Attentive, Omnisend, Gorgias, Checkout Review, Checkout Plus, and Mailchimp. REST API and webhooks access is listed for Premium; Enterprise offers custom API setup, so teams needing those capabilities should account for the higher-tier pricing. Yotpo reports SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018, and 27701 certifications, plus TLS 1.2-or-higher encryption in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest in AWS. Access to its SOC 2 report is limited to eligible customers after an MNDA.

Pricing

Yotpo uses a freemium model, with no free trial. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and is billed monthly; it covers 50 orders per month, 500 outgoing emails, and 200 kick-start credits. That cap makes it a constrained option for a small shop rather than a lasting fit for a store with higher order volume.

Starter costs 15.00 USD per month, starts at that price and scales with monthly order volume. It supports up to 500 orders per month, up to 2,000 outgoing emails, and 200 kick-start credits. Pro costs 119.00 USD per month, also starts at that price and scales with order volume; it supports up to 500 orders per month and 200 kick-start credits. Pro adds 24/7 technical support, but the listed plan details do not give it a higher order cap than Starter.

There is a discrepancy in the stated free-plan limits: the pricing FAQ says Reviews & UGC has a limited free plan for up to 50 monthly orders, while the Starter and Pro plan cards show up to 500 orders per month. Premium has custom pricing for custom order volume, and Enterprise has custom pricing for enterprise-scale order volume. Check the applicable order tier and quote before choosing a paid plan.

Platforms

The product is available on web and through an API. Commerce platform support includes Shopify, Shopify Plus, Adobe Commerce, BigCommerce, WooCommerce, Volusion, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, and custom integrations, though some platforms may not support every feature. Teams should confirm that their specific platform supports the collection, display, or integration capabilities they need.

Who it's for

Yotpo suits online retailers that want to collect reviews and visual content after purchase, moderate submissions, display feedback in multiple formats, and syndicate it to external channels. Its tiered order limits and custom-priced upper plans fit growing stores and larger retail operations better than merchants seeking an uncapped free plan. The maker says it serves businesses from fast-growing direct-to-consumer brands to large retailers.

Pros and cons

Pros: Email and SMS requests, reminders, review imports, and photo and video submissions cover several routes to building customer content.
Pros: Manual and rules-based moderation, configurable displays, and syndication to named platforms support control from submission through publication.
Pros: The reported security certifications and encryption practices may suit teams with formal security requirements.
Cons: The free plan's 50-order monthly ceiling and paid plans' stated 500-order caps can constrain stores as volume grows; paid prices also scale with order volume.
Cons: Premium and Enterprise require custom pricing, and some platform connections may not support every feature.
Cons: There is no free trial, so evaluation must begin with the limited free plan or a paid commitment.

Alternatives

For a narrower product comparison, browse Product Review Software, Review Management Software, UGC Platforms, and Review Generation Software.

CWILL Product Reviews is worth considering for a free option with unlimited review requests, photo reviews, review replies, and basic widgets, though its widgets are not customizable and its free plan caps display at six reviews per product.
Rivyo may suit a store wanting a free plan with unlimited product reviews and up to 100 monthly orders; it also allows 100 Amazon or AliExpress imports on that plan.
WiserReview is another freemium alternative.
Judge.me may be a better fit for merchants prioritizing unlimited review requests, a review widget, star-rating badge, CSV imports, and photo and video review requests on its free plan.
Junip offers unlimited review requests and orders on its free plan, alongside on-site displays, automated request emails, analytics, and review replies.
Loox offers a free Beginner plan capped at 500 total orders; its billing is part of Shopify’s 30-day subscription billing period with no annual commitment.
Okendo is an alternative with product and site reviews, photo and video reviews, review imports, and review widgets in Essentials.
REVIEWS.io has a free plan capped at 25 review invites per month, which may fit a very low-volume invitation program.

Verdict

Choose Yotpo Reviews if your commerce team needs a connected workflow for requesting, moderating, displaying, and syndicating customer content across supported platforms. Its breadth is the central reason to choose it; the order-based caps, feature differences by platform, and custom pricing at higher tiers are reasons to look elsewhere if you need predictable costs or a generous free allowance.
