Overview

Writizzy brings article publishing, newsletters, and paid subscriptions into one service. The editor has an outline, comments, cover images, and one-click publishing; scheduling and custom domains support a more polished publishing workflow. Advanced theme customization, including dark mode, colors, and typography controls, gives publishers room to shape their site’s presentation.

Migration support covers posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from Substack, WordPress, Ghost, Medium, or Beehiiv. That makes Writizzy a credible option for an existing publication seeking a new home, though import support does not remove the need to match the destination plan to the size of its audience.

Key features

Newsletters and memberships

Posts can be sent to subscribers, with subscriber management, double opt-in, and delivery tracking. Paid subscriptions use Stripe, and Writizzy says it charges 0% platform commission. This combination suits writers who want to publish and monetize without assembling separate newsletter and membership services. Email quotas still matter: the Free plan allows 400 monthly sends, while Starter allows 4,000, so frequent mailings can become a constraint before the subscriber cap does.

Publishing and analytics

Scheduling, one-click publishing, and built-in analytics support a regular publication workflow. Analytics are described as privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant, and cookie-free; event limits range from 10,000 per month on Free to 50,000 on Starter, with unlimited analytics on Premium. The Free tier can be enough to establish a small blog, but its 100MB media allowance and single-blog limit leave little room for a growing publication.

Integrations and data handling

Integrations include Bluesky, Mastodon, LinkedIn, Discord, Zapier, Make, webhooks, GitHub, and media embeds. Writizzy’s privacy policy says it uses encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and daily backups; blog data is hosted in the EU wherever possible, and user data is not sold. These are useful assurances for publishers weighing where their work and audience data reside.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 EUR per free and includes 100MB media storage, 10,000 analytics events per month, 100 newsletter subscribers, and one blog. It is a sensible starting point for a low-volume publication, but the small storage and audience allowances make it a limited long-term home.

Starter costs 9.00 EUR per month and raises the limits to 5GB of media, 50,000 monthly analytics events, 1,000 subscribers, and up to three blogs. Its 4,000 monthly email sends make it a better fit for an active solo writer or small publisher, though a larger list will require a higher tier.

Premium costs 20.00 EUR per month and includes 10GB of media storage, unlimited analytics, up to 75,000 subscribers, and up to 10 blogs. It is the more suitable choice for publications with a substantial audience or multiple sites. Teams costs 50.00 EUR per month, with up to 75,000 subscribers and 10 blogs, plus team members, granular permissions, and multiple authors per post. That makes it the natural tier for collaborative publishing; its audience and blog ceilings match Premium’s, while its added value is team workflow.

Platforms

Writizzy is available on the web and through an API. That covers browser-based publishing and API access, but it is not a listed mobile app choice for readers who want a dedicated Android or iOS client.

Who it's for

Writizzy is best for independent writers and small teams who want a branded blog, newsletters, and paid memberships in one platform. Migration support is especially relevant to writers moving from established publishing services. It is less compelling for a simple blog that does not need audience tools, or for publishers whose storage, email, or subscriber needs outgrow the plan caps.

Pros and cons

Pro: Blog publishing, newsletters, and Stripe-powered paid subscriptions sit together, reducing the need to piece together separate audience tools.
Pro: Custom domains and advanced theme controls support a distinct publication identity.
Pro: Migration covers posts, drafts, tags, and subscribers from five named publishing platforms.
Con: The Free plan’s 100MB storage, 100 subscribers, and 400 monthly sends are tight for a publication with regular growth.
Con: Starter caps newsletters at 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 monthly sends, so a busy or larger publication may need to move up.
Con: The API and web platform are not a substitute for a dedicated Android or iOS app.

Alternatives

WordPress.com is worth choosing instead if Android or iOS access matters; its free plan includes 1GB storage and unlimited pages and posts, though its listed basic stats cover only seven days. Hyvor Blogs is a lower-cost option for a solo blogger: its Personal plan is 5.00 EUR per month when billed annually at €50/year and is described for one user, one blog, and 1GB media storage. Tumblr is another freemium choice, with Android, iOS, and web access. Edublogs may suit readers comparing another freemium blogging service with mobile apps. WordPress is the alternative for those who want free open-source software and are prepared to provide their own hosting and domain. Write.as is a self-hosted alternative with a free plan described as one personal blog, branding, and 3–15 posts per day. Hashnode offers API and web access, with a Pro plan at 5.00 USD per month for up to 10 publications per account. Hatena Blog is another freemium blogging option, with a free plan that includes three blogs and 300MB of monthly photo uploads. For a broader comparison, see Blogging Platforms.

Verdict

Choose Writizzy if you are a writer or small publishing team who wants blogging, newsletters, and paid memberships under one roof, with custom-domain and theme control. Its strongest reason to buy is that integrated publishing and audience toolkit; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the plan ceilings on storage, email sends, and subscribers, especially if you need a dedicated mobile app.
