Overview

Visme is a web-based visual design tool with desktop and mobile apps, covering presentations as well as illustration. It suits people who want branded visual work and collaboration in one product, rather than a tool dedicated only to charts or infographics.

Its breadth is appealing, but the free plan’s 500MB of storage and 50-slide/page project cap are meaningful constraints for larger projects. Paid tiers remove the per-project cap, with higher storage allowances at each level.

Key features

Visual creation and brand work

A template library, presentation design and illustration tools give Visme a wider remit than slide creation alone. Brand kits make it a reasonable choice for users who need visual materials to follow a consistent identity. The feature set is broad, but it does not establish how deep the illustration tools or template selection are.

Collaboration

Real-time collaboration is a useful inclusion for shared work. The plan details do not say how many collaborators are supported at each tier, so teams should weigh the Enterprise seat minimum and storage terms carefully rather than assume a particular team workflow is covered.

Pricing

Basic is free and includes 500MB of storage, with a limit of 50 slides or pages per project. That is a sensible starting point for small projects, but the per-project ceiling and modest storage make it less suited to substantial portfolios.

Starter costs $12.25 USD per month, billed annually at $147/year. It raises storage to 1GB and allows unlimited projects and slides/pages per project, fitting individual users who need more room without Pro’s larger allowance. Pro costs $24.75 USD per month, billed annually at $297/year, and increases storage to 10GB while retaining unlimited projects and slides/pages per project; that is the stronger fit for heavier use, though the extra storage is the stated distinction from Starter.

Enterprise has custom pricing, starts at 10 users and includes 25GB of storage per user. Its per-user storage and team threshold point toward larger organizations, but the minimum makes it an awkward fit for a small team. No trial terms are stated for the paid plans.

Platforms

Visme supports web, Windows, macOS and iOS. Desktop and mobile apps broaden access beyond the browser, while Android is not among its supported platforms.

Who it's for

Choose Visme if presentations and illustrated visual content both matter, and brand kits or real-time collaboration are part of the workflow. It is less compelling for someone whose only need is a specialized infographic or data-visualization tool, or for anyone who needs more than 500MB and 50 slides/pages per project but wants to remain on a free plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Presentation and illustration tools, templates, brand kits and real-time collaboration bring several visual-work needs together.
Pros: Starter and Pro both remove the Basic plan’s project and slide/page caps.
Cons: Basic’s 500MB storage and 50-slide/page project limit can constrain larger work.
Cons: Starter’s 1GB storage is modest beside Pro’s 10GB, while Enterprise requires at least 10 users.
Cons: Android support is absent from the supported platform list.

Alternatives

Infogram is a better fit when interactive charts and maps are central: its Basic plan includes 35+ interactive chart types, 13 map types, up to 10 projects and up to five pages per project. Visme instead combines presentation and illustration capabilities with brand kits.

Piktochart is worth considering for readers who want a web-based alternative with a free plan that specifies 1GB of storage, two downloads and 60 AI credits. Visme’s free tier allows 500MB and caps each project at 50 slides/pages.

Datastory offers a free Starter plan with 10 data visualizations, up to three team members and 100 AI credits per month, which may better suit a small team focused on data visuals. Visme covers broader presentation and illustration work.

Easel.ly is another option for infographic creation.

Jeda.ai is another option for visual work.

Venngage offers a free plan capped at five designs and six image uploads, while its Premium plan includes unlimited designs and 50 image uploads. It may suit readers comparing design-count and upload limits against Visme’s storage and per-project caps.

a.graphics is a free web-based alternative.

Text to Infographic is a freemium alternative available on web, iOS and Android.

Verdict

Visme is a strong choice for people who need presentations, illustration, brand assets and collaboration in one place, especially if they are willing to move beyond the free tier for uncapped project size. Look elsewhere if you need a generous free workspace, Android support or a tool focused specifically on data visualization.
