Overview

Ring.io is built for outbound sales teams that want calls, email, and SMS organized into sequences alongside their CRM. It suits teams committed to a supported CRM and to working within its country and messaging restrictions. Its strongest case is coordinated calling and follow-up; its per-seat team plans and minimums make it a poor fit for small groups beyond the solo free tier.

Its sequences can include email, calls, and social steps, with native calling, task automation, and CRM synchronization. Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho CRM, and Pipedrive are supported.

Key features

Sequences and calling

Startup combines a Power Dialer, voicemail drop, call recording, SMS and MMS, multichannel sequences, live stats, and live monitoring. This puts core outbound calling and follow-up in one workflow, but SMS and MMS are not a route to mass outreach: Ring.io does not support bulk or mass texting.

Growth adds an AI Parallel Dialer, RingLocal, caller ID spam monitoring and remediation, AI call summaries and transcription, an AI stats assistant, and Apollo.io and ZoomInfo integrations. Those additions are most relevant to teams that need higher-volume dialing and richer call analysis. Enterprise adds SuperPremium RingLocal, InstaCall, custom routing, inbound call center queues, advanced reporting and customization, and VIP support.

Reporting and communication costs

Reporting scales by plan: Startup has simple productivity reports, Growth advanced productivity reports, and Enterprise enterprise analytics. Calling credits cost 2c per minute, SMS 2c per message, MMS 4c per message, and email 1c per email. Teams should account for these usage charges as well as seat costs.

Ring.io says data is encrypted at rest and in motion, and production infrastructure runs on AWS and Twilio. Support is available by email and chat Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm EST.

Pricing

The free plan is for solo reps and includes 400 minutes, 400 SMS, and 400 emails per month. Those caps make it useful for limited individual use, not a team rollout or sustained high-volume prospecting.

Startup costs 120.00 USD per month, billed monthly with an annual commitment, and requires at least two users. It includes the core dialer, voicemail, recording, messaging, sequences, live monitoring, and CRM and email integrations. The minimum commitment means it is a significant step up from the capped free account.

Growth costs 155.00 USD per month, billed monthly with an annual commitment, with a three-user minimum. It includes Startup features plus the AI Parallel Dialer, RingLocal, spam monitoring and remediation, AI call summaries and transcription, AI stats assistance, and Apollo.io and ZoomInfo integration. It fits teams that can use those dialing and analysis tools, rather than buyers seeking a small price increase for a single seat.

Enterprise costs 300.00 USD per month, billed monthly with an annual commitment, and requires at least 25 users. It adds advanced call-center and customization capabilities and VIP support to Startup and Growth features; the minimum makes it relevant to larger operations, not small teams. Ring.io also offers a 21-day trial for teams considering a team plan.

Platforms

Ring.io supports Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, web, browser extension, and API. Its iOS and Android apps support business calls, CRM access, and call logging. The Web Phone requires a Windows or macOS computer running Google Chrome and a non-cellular broadband connection, which rules out some desktop setups. The service is for companies based in the USA and Canada; companies elsewhere are not served.

Who it's for

Ring.io is best suited to US- or Canada-based outbound teams already using one of its supported CRMs, especially those that want dialing, messaging, and follow-up sequenced together. Solo reps can try the free tier, but its monthly quotas are modest. Teams below the paid plans' two-, three-, or 25-user minimums should look elsewhere, as should anyone needing bulk text messaging or service outside the supported countries.

Pros and cons

Pro: Calls, email, and SMS can be sequenced alongside supported CRMs, reducing the need to organize those steps separately.
Pro: Paid plans scale from a core power-dialing workflow to parallel dialing, call analysis, and enterprise call handling.
Pro: The free solo account provides monthly allowances across calls, SMS, and email.
Con: Paid plans require annual commitment and minimum seat counts, which can make them unsuitable for small teams.
Con: Per-message and per-minute charges add to plan costs, and bulk or mass texting is unsupported.
Con: Company availability is limited to the USA and Canada, while the Web Phone depends on Chrome, desktop Windows or macOS, and broadband internet.

Alternatives

Zoho CRM is worth considering for teams prioritizing a freemium CRM: its free plan covers three users, while Ring.io's free tier is for solo reps and its paid plans focus on outbound engagement.

Mixmax is an alternative for email-focused workflows; its free tier caps tracked emails at 20 per month and sequence recipients at 50, while Ring.io centers its sequences on calls, email, and SMS.

Salesforce Sales Cloud is another option for buyers evaluating sales software with a free tier, rather than Ring.io's outbound-sequence and dialing emphasis.

Apollo may suit teams looking for a sales engagement alternative with a free tier that includes 900 credits per seat per year, two sequences, and API access. Ring.io instead offers a monthly allowance of calls, SMS, and email for solo use.

Outplay is an alternative with a free plan for one user, two mailboxes, and 2,000 active prospects per month; Ring.io's free tier is capped by communication volume.

Regie.ai offers a free pool of 250 one-time credits per person, shareable by up to 10 people, for research, enrichment, drafting, and agents. Choose between it and Ring.io based on whether those capabilities or CRM-linked outbound calling and messaging better fit the workflow.

Growbots is another freemium alternative for teams comparing outbound tools.

Aviso Sales Engagement is an alternative for buyers seeking a custom proposal.

Verdict

Choose Ring.io if your outbound team is in the USA or Canada, uses a supported CRM, and wants calling and follow-up steps coordinated in sequences. The free solo tier is a useful way to assess its capped communication workflow; paid plans bring dialer depth and call analytics, but annual commitment, seat minimums, usage charges, and the no-bulk-text rule narrow its appeal. Small teams needing flexibility, or companies outside its service area, should look elsewhere.
