Overview

Sovi.AI combines photo and text question solving with PDF study tools, note generation, writing support, lecture recording, and AP preparation. That makes it a better fit for students moving between different study tasks than for someone seeking only a focused math solver. Step-by-step answers and guided hints can support learning, though the Terms caution that AI output can be inaccurate or misleading and should be reviewed.

Key features

Homework and documents

Ask Sovi accepts typed or image questions and provides step-by-step answers. Image uploads support JPG, PNG, and WebP up to 10 MB, a practical constraint for students photographing assignments. AI Study can chat with PDFs, summarize them, generate quizzes, and map course concepts, so it can turn course files into several kinds of study activity rather than simply answer a question.

Lectures and AP practice

Live Recording creates real-time transcripts, structured notes, summaries, and follow-up questions. It supports bilingual transcription in English, Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Korean. The service says this version does not record or store raw audio or video; session history contains text and aggregate quality estimates. Audio is processed live through configured OpenAI and Google Gemini services, a relevant consideration for students deciding what to record.

AP Test Prep includes subject practice, unit drills, mock exams, and detailed answer reviews. Together with PDF quizzes and concept maps, these tools offer more than a quick-answer workflow, though the Terms position Sovi.AI as a supplement—not a replacement for teachers, coursework, or textbooks.

Pricing

Sovi.AI uses a freemium model. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, and the service is free to start; current plan details are shown before upgrading. That gives new users a way to begin without committing to a paid plan, but the Free plan's quotas and feature caps are not established here, so students with regular, heavy use should confirm the terms shown before upgrading. No paid plan price can be stated.

Platforms

Sovi.AI is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Its coverage suits students who want mobile access as well as a browser-based study workspace.

Who it's for

Sovi.AI is best suited to students who want one service for image-based homework questions, PDF study, lecture notes, and AP exam practice. It is less compelling for users who need a clearly defined usage allowance before signing up, or who are uncomfortable submitting prompts, photos, chats, and generated content to a service that collects them.

Pros and cons

Pros: One workspace spans homework answers, PDF summaries and quizzes, lecture notes, and AP practice, making it useful across different study routines.
Pros: Step-by-step solutions, hints, and detailed AP answer reviews give users more support than a bare answer.
Pros: Live Recording does not store raw audio or video in this version, and its listed bilingual transcription languages include seven options.
Cons: AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable, so answers require review rather than blind reliance.
Cons: Submitted photos, prompts, chats, and generated content are collected, and the privacy policy does not guarantee absolute security.

Alternatives

Browse AI Homework Helpers to compare more services in the category. AskSia is a freemium alternative with daily problem solves, step-by-step solutions, and photo input on its free plan; choose it if that clearly described homework workflow is the priority. Mathway is another freemium option with free solver and calculator access and step-by-step solutions; it suits readers seeking a solver-centered alternative.

QuestionAI is an alternative to consider for its yearly subscription option. StudyX is another study service to compare. QANDA is another freemium option to consider. For a math-focused choice, Photomath offers a free Basic plan with step-by-step explanations, while custom visual aids and extra “how” and “why” tips are excluded from that tier. Cymath offers free step-by-step math solutions and a paid Plus plan with detailed sub-steps on most problems. Brainly is another freemium alternative.

Verdict

Choose Sovi.AI if you want a broad study workspace that brings homework help, PDFs, lecture notes, and AP preparation together, and you are willing to check its AI output. Look elsewhere if you need a known free-plan quota or want to avoid submitting study material for processing.
