Overview

o9’s central idea is to bring enterprise data, intelligence and execution into one planning environment. An Enterprise Knowledge Graph connects internal and external data while representing business relationships as context, a foundation intended to support planning across functions rather than isolated departmental forecasts.

That breadth can matter when demand, supply, revenue and sustainability decisions affect one another. It also means o9 is aimed at organizations with the complexity and resources to coordinate those decisions, not buyers seeking a focused planning tool for a small operation.

Key features

Connected planning and forecasting

AI and machine learning predictions, demand sensing, hierarchical forecasting and SKU-location granularity support planning at multiple levels. Multi-horizon planning and scenario simulation let organizations consider different time frames and possible outcomes, while risk and opportunity detection can bring potential changes into planning discussions. These capabilities suit businesses that need to connect forecasts to broader decisions; they may be more scope than a buyer who only needs a basic forecast.

Operational scope

o9 supports demand forecasting, scenario planning, skills-based capacity and multi-site planning. Its resource types span labor, skills, equipment, tooling, tanks, production, materials and energy, giving complex operations a wide range of constraints to account for. The platform also covers demand planning, supplier management, logistics planning and fulfillment, alongside solutions such as integrated business planning, merchandise planning and sustainability planning.

Integrations, cloud and mobile

Integration options include batch transfers through SFTP, REST API, SOAP XML and streaming data. Connectors and mapping templates cover systems including SAP, Snowflake, Oracle and Google BigQuery. The platform runs natively on major cloud providers, with APIs and modular architecture for adding data sources and algorithms. Deployment is cloud-based.

iOS and Android apps provide mobile access to planning data and workflows. That is useful for people who need mobile access to planning work, though the platform’s stated scope remains enterprise planning rather than a mobile-first planning product.

Security and support

o9 identifies ISO/IEC 27001 and 27017, GDPR, CCPA, C5, NIST CSF 1.1, SOC 1, SOC 2 and TISAX among its security certifications and frameworks. Its described controls include encryption in transit and at rest, network security, server hardening, administrative access controls, monitoring, logging and alerting. For support questions, o9 directs customers to a contact form and says a team member will respond promptly.

Pricing

o9 Digital Brain: custom pricing. There is no free plan or published list price; pricing is scoped to business complexity, users and functions, solutions deployed and implementation approach. That makes it difficult to compare costs before discussing the intended deployment, and buyers should assess the full scope against their planning needs.

The enterprise SaaS plan is aimed at organizations deploying planning across substantial operations. Its customer-specific scope may fit organizations whose requirements vary widely, but it offers no fixed entry price for smaller buyers to evaluate. No seat quota, trial term or renewal term is stated.

Platforms

o9 supports web, iOS, Android and API access. Its deployment option is cloud; the platform is not positioned here as a self-hosted deployment.

Who it's for

o9 is for large multinational enterprises coordinating planning across functions and complex global operations. Its range of planning disciplines, resource types, data connections and planning horizons is most relevant where decisions need to join up across sites and business units.

It is not typically positioned for small businesses, startups or single-site operations. Those buyers may find the enterprise scope and customer-specific pricing difficult to justify when their planning needs are narrower.

Pros and cons

Pros: Connected strategic-to-operational planning can bring forecasts, scenarios and cross-functional decisions into a common platform.
Pros: Broad support for resource types, multi-site planning and multiple horizons suits complex operations with varied constraints.
Pros: SFTP, REST API, SOAP XML and streaming options, plus connectors for major data platforms, provide several routes for integrating enterprise data.
Cons: Customer-scoped pricing and no free plan leave smaller buyers without a low-cost way to evaluate the platform.
Cons: The enterprise focus makes o9 a poor fit for startups, small businesses and single-site operations.
Cons: Cloud deployment is the stated option, so organizations requiring self-hosting should consider alternatives.

Verdict

Choose o9 Digital Brain if your large organization needs to connect planning across functions, sites, horizons and operational resources. Its strongest reason to buy is the breadth of its connected planning model; its main reason to look elsewhere is the enterprise commitment, including custom pricing and cloud-only deployment, when a narrower or self-hosted tool would suffice.
