What both publish
| Fact | Nheko | |
|---|---|---|
| Calls | It supports voice and video VoIP calls, with support varying by platform. | Voice and video calls are end-to-end encrypted, have no time limits, and work one-to-one or in groups across iOS, Android, and web. |
| Encryption | Nheko supports end-to-end encryption, but its current implementation has never been audited and the project makes no security guarantees for it. | WhatsApp says end-to-end encryption prevents anyone else, including WhatsApp, from reading personal messages or listening to calls. |
| Messaging | It supports creating, joining, and leaving rooms; invitations; file and emoji sharing; replies; read receipts; and message redaction. | Chats support text formatting, stickers, GIFs, emoji reactions, voice notes and video notes. |
| Platforms | Releases are listed for Linux as Flatpak, macOS as a disk image, and Windows as x64 MSIX or appinstaller. | Downloads are listed for iPad, Windows, Mac, Android, and iPhone, and the site also offers browser access. |
