Overview

MIC-CUST is a web-based customs compliance system for organizations managing cross-border trade at scale. It is best suited to multinational businesses, high-volume midsized importers and exporters, and logistics providers with complex customs workflows. Its broad process coverage and SAP connections make it a strong fit for integrated trade operations, but custom pricing and a sales-led buying process are hurdles for smaller teams seeking a quick purchase.

Key features

MIC-CUST brings import and export declarations, special customs procedures with inventory management, electronic transit, Intrastat reporting, and excise movement control into one system. That range can reduce the need to coordinate separate tools for distinct customs regimes, especially for companies active across multiple countries. Automated declaration coverage spans more than 55 countries, while electronic exchange with customs authorities, brokers, and forwarders supports both direct filing and third-party workflows.

A notable cross-border capability is generating an import declaration in one country from export data originating in another. This can help organizations avoid re-entering information as goods move through connected trade routes, though its practical value depends on the countries and processes involved.

MIC SAP CONNECT links SAP ERP with MIC customs and trade-compliance modules, exchanging data and response messages. It connects SAP SD, MM, and PP for customs declarations, origin calculation, export control, and master data, and is certified for SAP S/4HANA. This makes MIC-CUST a more natural candidate for SAP-centric operations than a standalone customs tool, but businesses outside that environment may gain less from its integration emphasis.

MIC also describes AI-assisted tariff classification, declaration assistance, and document processing that extracts data from PDFs, images, and spreadsheets. Its Global Trade Content Service supplies tariffs, exchange rates, and export-control lists for more than 150 countries. These capabilities address classification and data preparation alongside filing, while the product's broader feature set includes duty and tax and landed-cost calculation, sanctions screening, compliance records, trade document generation, duty drawback, and API access.

The suite is delivered as web-based SaaS on a single technology platform. MIC's Trust Center lists GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001, and TISAX under compliance, and its support services promise guaranteed response and resolution times.

Pricing

MIC-CUST is paid software with custom pricing. Prospective buyers must contact sales for product guidance and a quote, so it is difficult to compare cost or assess fit before engaging with the vendor. That approach is more workable for larger organizations evaluating a broad customs platform than for small operators who need transparent, self-service pricing.

No tiered plans, free plan, or trial terms are provided. Buyers should expect to discuss their required countries, customs processes, integrations, and service needs with sales rather than select from published packages.

Platforms

MIC-CUST is web-based and delivered as SaaS. API access is supported, making it relevant to organizations that need customs workflows to connect with other systems; SAP ERP integration is available through MIC SAP CONNECT.

Who it's for

MIC-CUST is aimed at multinational corporations, midsized enterprises with high import and export activity, and logistics providers. It is most compelling when a business needs several customs processes, multiple-country coverage, electronic exchanges with authorities or intermediaries, and close alignment with SAP. A company with limited trade volume or a narrow filing need may find the breadth and sales-led purchasing process more than it needs.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad customs coverage: declarations, transit, special procedures, Intrastat, and excise control can support varied trade operations in one suite.
International workflow support: declaration coverage across more than 55 countries and trade content for over 150 countries address organizations working across borders.
SAP integration: links to SD, MM, and PP and support for S/4HANA can connect customs processes with enterprise operations.
Multiple filing routes: direct authority exchange, broker and forwarder transfers, and cross-border data reuse support different operating models.

Cons

Custom pricing: buyers must contact sales, limiting upfront cost comparison and self-service evaluation.
Enterprise-oriented scope: the extensive process coverage is less likely to suit teams with only occasional or straightforward customs filings.
Service terms require discussion: guaranteed response and resolution times are cited, but the specific commitments are not given.

Verdict

Choose MIC-CUST if your organization needs broad, multi-country customs coverage, several customs processes, and a close connection to SAP or other enterprise workflows. Its strongest case is the combination of declaration breadth, authority and broker connectivity, cross-border data reuse, and trade content. Look elsewhere if transparent upfront pricing, a quick self-service purchase, or a narrowly scoped customs tool matters more than that breadth.
