Overview

Save My Exams is a revision platform for students preparing for GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP, AS and O Level exams. It is best suited to learners who want syllabus-aligned notes and exam practice in one place, with extra tools for targeting weak topics. Its broad mix of student resources and teacher test creation is a strong fit, though coverage varies and free users cannot download or edit model answers.

Key features

The core library combines revision notes, exam questions with answers, past papers, mark schemes, flashcards and downloadable PDFs. Content is written by qualified teachers and examiners and reviewed by at least two Curriculum Experts. Resources are matched to specific exam-board specifications wherever possible, but subject and qualification coverage varies, so students should check that their course is covered before relying on it as their main resource.

AI tools include Smart Mark, Revision Note Chat, Exam Question Chat, Guided Study and Guided Practice. Target Tests and a strengths-and-weaknesses analysis help focus practice on weaker areas, while the Study Planner supports a regular revision routine. These tools make the platform more than a notes library, particularly for students who need structure and feedback.

Teachers can use Test Builder to assemble tests from past-exam and expert-written questions, filtering by topic and difficulty. That gives the service a practical classroom use beyond individual revision; the more complete Test Builder is reserved for Premium.

Free accounts can download past papers and mark schemes, but not model answers; model answers also cannot be edited. Offline access is supported, though the facts do not establish which materials or tools work offline.

Pricing

Save My Exams uses a freemium model. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes selected resources and features, with limited revision materials. It is a reasonable way to explore the service, but its narrower content access and model-answer restriction make it less suitable as a complete revision toolkit.

Essential costs 8.00 USD per month, billed at $96 per year. It includes Basic Test Builder, revision notes, exam questions, mock exams and Smart Chat. This is the more restrained paid option for learners who want core study materials and basic test creation without the expanded practice tools.

Premium costs 16.00 USD per month, billed at $192 per year. It includes everything in Essential plus Full Test Builder, downloads, a strengths-and-weaknesses tracker, answer feedback and guided practice. It is the better fit for students who will use targeted practice and feedback, or teachers who need the fuller test-building capability. The price doubles Essential's monthly rate, so those who mainly need notes and questions may not need the upgrade.

Premium monthly, Premium three-monthly and Premium annual plans each offer full access to Premium resources, with custom pricing.

Platforms

Save My Exams is available on web, Android and iOS. Offline access is supported, but mobile apps are not available, so mobile users should not assume the service provides a dedicated app experience.

Who it's for

Students across GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, IB, AP, AS and O Level can use it for notes, exam-style practice and revision planning. It is especially suitable for learners whose subject and exam-board coverage matches the platform and who benefit from guided or targeted practice. Teachers may also find Test Builder useful for producing topic- and difficulty-filtered tests. Students needing comprehensive coverage of every subject, or editable model answers on a free account, should look elsewhere or consider a paid plan.

Pros and cons

Pros: Notes, exam questions, past papers, flashcards and PDFs bring several revision formats together.
Pros: Expert-authored and reviewed content, with exam-board alignment where possible, supports focused qualification revision.
Pros: Target Tests, performance analysis and guided tools offer more direction than a static study library.
Cons: Subject and qualification coverage varies, so it may not fit every course.
Cons: Free accounts cannot download or edit model answers, limiting how flexibly they can use those explanations.
Cons: Premium costs 16.00 USD per month billed at $192 per year, which may be hard to justify for students who only need core notes and questions.
Cons: It supports Android and iOS but has no mobile apps, despite offering offline access.

Alternatives

Cram is a better fit when custom flashcard creation, hints, image uploads and access to millions of existing sets matter more than qualification-specific exam resources.
MathsGenie is worth considering for learners who want past papers and mark schemes across subjects and exam boards, with a free plan limited to 20 energy a week.
Revision Village may suit students who want a free subset of topics for one course, plus mobile app access, a Discord community and dedicated support for that course.
SparkNotes is a more focused choice for study guides, which are included on its free plan without sign-up; PLUS adds ad-free access and study tools for 5.99 USD per month plus tax.
ZNotes is an alternative for learners who want a permanently free set of syllabus-aligned notes, chapter quizzes and limited AI tools, with unlimited PDF downloads.
BBC Bitesize is the straightforward free option, though personalised learning requires a free BBC account.
Cognito may appeal to web-only learners seeking to remove weekly caps on flashcards and exam questions with its 9.99 GBP per month Pro plan.
ExamSolutions is another freemium exam-preparation option.

Verdict

Save My Exams is a strong choice for students whose qualification is covered and who want expert-reviewed revision materials paired with structured practice. Its clearest advantage is bringing notes, exam resources and targeted study tools together; its main drawback is that coverage varies, while the fullest feedback and practice tools require Premium. Choose it if that combination fits your course and study habits; look elsewhere if you need guaranteed subject coverage, a mobile app or unrestricted model answers for free.
