Overview

MASV combines a desktop app, browser upload portals and API access. Branded portals can collect contributor files and route them to one or more destinations, making them useful for repeatable production intake. If a transfer is interrupted, checkpoint restart resumes it rather than requiring a fresh start.

The desktop app supports Multiconnect channel bonding, Growing Files real-time uploads and optimization for 10 Gbps+ connections. Integrations include Amazon S3, Backblaze, Box, Dropbox, Frame.io, Google and IBM Cloud Object Storage. MASV says transfers use TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest; it states that it is SOC 2 Type II compliant, ISO 27001:2022 certified, TPN verified and supports HIPAA-compliant transfers. SAML-based SSO, MFA, role-based permissions, password protection, download limits and expiry dates offer useful controls for managed workflows.

Key features

Resumable delivery: Checkpoint restart helps avoid restarting an interrupted large transfer, a practical safeguard for teams sending substantial files.
Contributor portals: Branded browser uploads with destination routing can standardize intake from outside a team, rather than relying on ad hoc exchanges.
Transfer optimization: Multiconnect, Growing Files and 10 Gbps+ optimization target demanding workflows; they matter most to users with high-throughput networks or files that grow while being uploaded.
Security and administration: Encryption, identity controls, permissions and download restrictions suit organizations that need managed access, while they may be more than occasional senders require.

Pricing

On-Demand is pay as you go at $0.25/GB after the first 15 GB free each month, with no contract. It includes five days of free storage per file; uploaded files stored beyond that cost $0.07 USD per GB per month. This is the flexible choice for irregular transfers, but users should budget for both transfer volume and files kept past the included period. A credit card is required.

Annual subscriptions trade a 12-month commitment for monthly included transfer and discounted overages: 250 GB costs 58.00 USD per month at $0.23/GB; 500 GB costs 110.00 USD per month at $0.22/GB; 1 TB costs 215.00 USD per month at $0.21/GB; and 2 TB costs 410.00 USD per month at $0.20/GB. These suit teams with predictable recurring volume; the lower tiers mean less included monthly transfer, while every tier commits the buyer for a year.

Pre-Buy Credits require one upfront payment: 5 TB costs 1229.00 USD per month, 10 TB costs 2355.00 USD per month, and 25 TB costs 5632.00 USD per month. They fit buyers who want to purchase a larger transfer pool in advance, but require upfront spend. The Platform plan has custom pricing for 10 TB+ per month. Dedicated onboarding and support are available for enterprise accounts.

Platforms

MASV supports API, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. Its desktop app and browser portals give teams both app-based transfer workflows and a way for contributors to upload through a browser.

Who it's for

MASV is aimed at solo filmmakers and creators, post-production studios, broadcast networks and data-heavy industries such as geospatial. It is a stronger fit for recurring large-file delivery, contributor intake or high-throughput workflows than for occasional small-file sharing, where per-GB transfer and storage charges can outweigh the operational benefits.

Pros and cons

Pro: Checkpoint restart can continue interrupted transfers, reducing friction when delivering large files.
Pro: Branded portals route contributor uploads to one or more destinations, supporting organized intake.
Pro: Integrations, API access and access controls support managed workflows across services and teams.
Con: On-Demand charges $0.25/GB beyond the monthly 15 GB allowance, and storage beyond five days adds $0.07 USD per GB per month.
Con: Annual subscriptions require a 12-month commitment, so they are less suitable when transfer volume is uncertain.

Verdict

Choose MASV if your work depends on moving large files reliably, collecting contributor uploads through branded portals or routing deliveries into connected services. Its resumability, transfer tools and controls make it a considered choice for production and data-heavy teams.
