Overview

Martide is crew-management software for maritime crew managers and manning agents who need to coordinate recruitment, records, planning and crew changes. Its broad operational scope and free seafarer app make it a stronger fit for teams managing the full crew lifecycle than for organizations seeking scheduling alone.

Small and medium-sized teams are the audience Martide says it set out to serve. The main caveat is cost clarity: Operations has a stated monthly price and seafarer cap, while Recruiting uses custom pricing.

Key features

Recruitment and seafarer records

A searchable database supports candidate discovery, crew pools and profile management, with qualification tracking and availability management. That gives recruitment and planning teams a shared place to work with candidate information rather than treating job applications as a separate process. The Recruiting plan includes a free branded job advert and unlimited users, but its custom pricing makes it harder to assess the cost before choosing it.

Documents and planning

Teams can store seafarer documents, receive expiry alerts and generate contracts or forms from DOCX templates. The alerts can help teams keep document renewals in view, while template-based generation is useful for organizations that need their own forms. Crew planning uses a color-coded calendar with real-time updates and access for manning agents, which suits coordination across shore-based teams and partners.

Crew changes and integrations

Travel and port agent portals, flight synchronization, mobile crew updates and working gear management extend Martide beyond the roster. Trip assignment is also supported. These tools bring several crew-change tasks into the same system, though teams looking only for a scheduling tool may not need that wider scope.

An API is offered for syncing with existing software, and tanker data can be sent directly to OCIMF. That provides a route to connect Martide with other systems and handle tanker data without claiming that every integration need is covered.

Mobile app, security and support

The free seafarer app for Android and Apple devices lets crew apply for jobs, message, receive reminders and store documents. It gives crew a direct mobile channel alongside the management platform. Martide describes TLS 1.2 or higher for data in transit, AES-256 or equivalent encryption at rest, role-based permissions and separation between customer data. It says its security measures are implemented with regard to GDPR requirements. Step-by-step guides serve crew managers and manning agents, and technical support is available at software.support@martide.com.

Pricing

Martide uses a freemium model.

Operations: 249.00 USD per month includes 50 onboard seafarers and unlimited users. Each extra seafarer costs $4.80 / month. The plan suits teams that need operational crew management and can forecast their onboard headcount; the per-seafarer charge means larger fleets should account for growth in their monthly spend.

Recruiting: custom pricing, with unlimited users and one free branded job advert, and no setup or hidden fees. It may suit teams focused on candidate recruitment, but without a stated price it is harder to compare its total cost with Operations or other products.

Platforms

Martide is available on web, Android and iOS. The seafarer app is compatible with Android and Apple devices, while mobile access supports crew updates away from a desk.

Who it's for

Martide is best suited to small and medium-sized crew managers and manning agents that want recruitment, records, planning and crew changes in one maritime-focused system. It is less compelling for buyers who need only a scheduling tool or who require a clear Recruiting price before evaluating a purchase.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad crew-management coverage: recruitment, records, planning and crew changes are handled within one platform.
Useful document tools: expiry alerts and DOCX-based contract and form generation support ongoing record management.
Free seafarer app: crew can apply, message, receive reminders and store documents on Android and Apple devices.
Clear Operations seat terms: the 50-seafarer allowance, extra-seafarer charge and unlimited users make its core pricing easier to model.

Cons

Recruiting uses custom pricing: buyers cannot compare its cost from the monthly price alone.
Operations charges by onboard seafarer: teams above 50 incur an additional monthly fee for each extra seafarer.
Free-plan caps are unclear: buyers should establish the limits before treating it as a long-term option.

Verdict

Martide is a strong fit for small and medium-sized maritime crew teams seeking one platform for recruitment, records, scheduling and crew changes, with a free app for seafarers. Its broad workflow coverage is the main reason to choose it; look elsewhere if a clear Recruiting price or a scheduling-only product is more important.
