Overview

Manago AI, formerly SALESmanago, has operated since 2012 and is headquartered in Krakow, Poland. Its focus is helping e-commerce teams turn customer signals into growth campaigns, rather than serving as a basic email tool. The maker says more than 2,000 growing brands use the platform.

Its Customer Data Platform brings behaviour, purchases, engagement, preferences, consent and predictive signals into customer profiles used for targeting and personalisation. Real-time profiles, identity resolution, data ingestion and audience activation support the path from collecting customer information to using it in campaigns. Lead scoring and CRM sync also connect marketing activity with sales workflows.

Key features

Behavioural automation and channels

A visual workflow builder and behavioural triggers let teams start journeys when customers browse, buy, abandon carts, return or disengage. Journeys can span email, SMS, WhatsApp, push and web, giving retailers a way to coordinate follow-up across channels. SMS and WhatsApp are usage-charged, however, so broad deployment can add variable costs.

AI-assisted campaign preparation

Agentic AI can help create audiences, draft content, assemble workflows, suggest timing and prepare campaigns for team approval. That can shorten campaign setup while retaining a human approval step. Monthly AI allowances reset, and use pauses at the cap unless the customer upgrades or buys more usage; teams relying heavily on AI should account for that interruption risk.

Integrations, support and safeguards

Ready-to-use e-commerce integrations include Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop and WooCommerce, while an open API supports custom integrations. Every package includes 24/7 technical support, help articles, a knowledge base and access to a Customer Success team. Security provisions include SSO, 2FA, DDoS protection, firewalls, network segmentation, identity separation, periodic penetration tests and vulnerability management. Customer personal data is stored in Polish data centres within the EEA, with GDPR-oriented consent management and privacy-by-design practices.

Pricing

Manago AI is paid software with custom pricing for the platform and no free plan. A free trial is available. Active contacts determine platform pricing; contacts without marketing consent do not count. The platform plan shows 3,000 active contacts and 1,000 SMS messages by default, but those figures are defaults rather than a published price. Optional expansion packs and usage charges for SMS and WhatsApp also affect the total.

Plan	Price and allowance	Best fit
Manago AI platform	Custom pricing; 3,000 active contacts and 1,000 SMS messages shown by default.	Teams seeking the customer data and campaign platform; contact volume and messaging use shape the bill.
Agentic AI Starter	Custom pricing; 1× monthly usage.	Teams beginning with the AI campaign tools and a baseline allowance.
Agentic AI Boost	30.00 EUR per month, billed month to month; 3× Starter monthly usage. Everything in Starter; allowance can be raised on request.	Teams needing more AI usage than Starter provides, with the option to request a larger allowance.
Agentic AI Power	99.00 EUR per month; 10× Starter monthly usage. Everything in Boost; priority allowance increases.	Higher-usage teams that value priority allowance increases.
Agentic AI Flex	Custom pricing; 15× monthly usage starting point.	Teams seeking a higher starting allowance and custom terms.

The cheaper AI tiers give up usage headroom: Starter provides one times the monthly usage, compared with Boost at three times and Power at ten times; Flex starts at fifteen times. The platform contact and SMS defaults, metered messaging and optional packs should be considered separately from the AI plan charges.

Platforms

Manago AI supports web, iOS and Android, and provides an API. Its combination of mobile and web access suits teams managing campaigns across devices, while the API supports custom connections.

Who it's for

This is a strong fit for e-commerce businesses that need customer profiles, behavioural journeys and campaign coordination in one system, particularly those using the supported storefront integrations. It is less compelling for teams with simple email needs, small audiences or strict predictable-cost requirements: active-contact pricing, paid messaging channels, optional packs and AI caps require ongoing usage management.

Pros and cons

Pros

Customer data feeds campaign action: profiles combine purchase, behaviour, consent and predictive signals, with activation, identity resolution and CRM sync supporting targeting and sales workflows.
Broad journey coverage: behavioural triggers and a visual builder support journeys across email, SMS, WhatsApp, push and web.
Useful e-commerce connections: Shopify, Magento, PrestaShop and WooCommerce integrations reduce the need to start with custom development.
Support and security included: every package includes round-the-clock technical support, while the stated safeguards include SSO, 2FA and regular security practices.

Cons

Budgeting depends on usage: active contacts set platform pricing, SMS and WhatsApp are metered, and expansion packs can add cost.
AI work can stop at the cap: monthly allowance limits pause use unless the customer upgrades or purchases more.
Most prices are custom: only Boost and Power have stated monthly prices, making upfront plan comparison harder.

Alternatives

For teams that want a free, self-hosted option, consider Mautic; it also offers a 14-day trial without a credit card. If the priority is a freemium conversations product with web and mobile apps, Brevo Conversations has a free tier for one user and a Pro plan at 15.00 USD per month.

EngageBay is worth considering for a freemium option whose free plan supports up to 15 users and 250 contacts and companies. For a smaller free email and mobile-messaging allowance, Klaviyo offers up to 250 active profiles, 500 email sends per month and $5 of mobile messages per month on its free plan.

GetResponse is another freemium option with a free trial and support for Android, iOS, web and API. Consider ActiveCampaign if a paid platform with a free trial and web and mobile apps is a closer fit. For larger-scale marketing automation, Adobe Marketo Engage offers paid, custom-priced plans. Customer.io is a paid alternative with web and mobile apps; its Essentials plan costs 100.00 USD per month for 5,000 profiles and 1 million emails per month.
