Overview

Kittl is a browser-based design platform for people creating graphics, illustrations, presentations, and branded content. It is a strong fit for individual creators and small teams who want templates, asset libraries, and AI tools in one editor, but project and token limits shape how far the free tier goes.

Key features

Kittl combines templates, mockups, photos, graphics, and fonts with illustration and presentation tools. Background removal, image upscaling, vectorization, text effects, and an infinite canvas give users ways to develop and refine artwork rather than only arrange preset layouts. Brand kits and real-time collaboration help teams keep designs consistent, though additional editors incur charges under the selected plan.

AI image, vector, and video generation, plus an AI creative agent, broaden the editor’s creative range. Their usefulness depends on token allowances: the free plan provides 100 one-time tokens, while Expert and Max plans receive daily batches. Kittl also offers Shopify banners, Etsy banners, and Etsy listings, which are particularly relevant to sellers preparing storefront visuals.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and lasts forever. It includes five projects, 100 one-time AI tokens, and more than 1M photos, graphics, and fonts. It is limited to personal use, with no commercial rights. Free users can preview most Pro features under light usage limits, making the tier useful for exploring the editor, but its project cap and licensing restriction rule it out for commercial work.

Pro costs 168.00 USD per year with annual billing, shown as billed monthly. It includes unlimited projects, 2,000 AI tokens per month, 10,000+ premium templates and mockups, and 10 GB of file storage. Paid plans add commercial licensing, premium assets, high-resolution and vector exports, more AI tokens, and larger project limits; Pro is the clearest step up for regular creators who need those rights and exports without Expert’s larger allowance.

Expert costs 468.00 USD per year with annual billing, shown as billed monthly. It provides 12,000 AI tokens per month, 100M+ curated assets, and 100 GB of storage; Expert also receives 200 daily tokens. It is aimed at professionals who need faster workflows and consistency, especially those with substantial asset and storage needs. Max receives 600 daily tokens, though its price and other plan details are not provided. Plans renew monthly or annually according to the selected billing option. Subscribers can cancel in account settings anytime, with access continuing through the billing cycle.

Platforms

Kittl runs on the web and has no desktop or mobile app. That suits users comfortable working in a browser, but it is not a choice for those who require a dedicated app.

Who it's for

Kittl suits creators who need a mix of templates, illustration tools, mockups, and AI generation, as well as sellers making Shopify or Etsy visuals. The free tier works for personal projects and evaluation; commercial creators need a paid plan for licensing. Teams should account for additional-editor charges, and anyone relying heavily on AI should compare monthly quotas and daily token batches with their expected workload.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad set of design and image tools, templates, and assets in one web editor; real-time collaboration and brand kits; a permanent free tier with 1M+ assets and limited Pro previews.
Cons: Free use is capped at five projects and excludes commercial rights; paid plans are needed for high-resolution and vector exports; additional editors cost extra, and there are no desktop or mobile apps.

Alternatives

For garment-focused work, MockupFit offers unlimited garment designs, live previews, mockup downloads, and Printful export on its free plan, without AI credits. Choose it when garment mockups and that export route matter more than Kittl’s broader design toolkit.

Vexels T-Shirt Creator may be a better fit for users seeking a dedicated T-shirt creator: its Merch Starter plan includes 30 stock downloads and 200 AI credits per month, along with 100 designer projects, though tool content is limited. Mock It is another option when mockup creation is the priority; its Standard plan offers 5,000+ mockups and unlimited creation and downloads after a seven-day free trial, then costs 11.99 USD per month.

YouWear.ai offers a free design studio with five credits per new account, where one credit covers one generation or edit; physical products cost extra. Screenhance Apparel Mockup Generator may suit users who want a browser or extension-based apparel mockup workflow, while inkXE is an option for those seeking a paid tool across web, desktop, mobile, API, and self-hosted platforms. ClozDesign and Printonator are also alternatives.

Browse the T-Shirt Design Software, AI Poster Generators, AI Graphic Design Software, Graphic Design Software, Poster Maker Software, and Video Thumbnail Makers lists for more category options.

Verdict

Kittl is a good choice for creators who want a versatile browser editor with templates, illustration tools, AI generation, and commercial licensing on paid plans. Its free tier is useful for personal projects, but the five-project cap and lack of commercial rights make upgrading necessary for professional use. Look elsewhere if you need an app, a garment-only mockup workflow, or clearly stated plan terms for heavy AI use.
