Overview

Hair AI Salon is a mobile app for previewing haircuts, hairstyles and colours on a photo of yourself. It suits people considering a change before a salon appointment, particularly those who want to try a custom description or reference image. Its range goes beyond a fixed style gallery, but continued use may require paid credits or a renewing subscription.

Key features

The app advertises more than 130 haircut options and unlimited hair colours applied to your face. You can also describe the cut and colour you want, or upload a hairstyle reference for adaptation to your face shape and hair type. That flexibility is useful when you have a specific look in mind; the preview is still a visualization, not a guarantee of the result a stylist can achieve.

A before-and-after slider makes it easier to compare the transformation with your original photo, and you can save results to your gallery to show a stylist. Featured trending styles are released every Saturday. The free download includes credits for initial previews, letting you try the central feature before committing to a purchase.

Photo processing has a privacy trade-off: images are sent to third-party AI providers to generate the requested transformation, with explicit consent. The privacy policy says images are not used for advertising or AI training and are not retained after processing except temporarily to deliver the feature. Data is stored using Google Firebase, including Firebase Authentication and Firestore, with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. The app says it does not track users across other companies' apps or websites or use data for targeted advertising. You can delete your account in the app; associated data is typically removed within 30 days. The policy aims to answer privacy inquiries within 48 hours.

Pricing

Hair AI Salon is free to download, with free credits for initial previews and in-app purchases for further use. The one-time 5 Pack Style Credits costs 3.99 USD and includes 5 credits; the 40 Pack Style Credits costs 14.99 USD for 40 credits, while 100 Style Credits costs 34.99 USD for 100. The Hair AI Salon-Top Up Style Credits is 6.99 USD per one-time purchase, without a stated credit quantity. These packs suit occasional use, though the 5-credit option is the smallest paid commitment and larger packs lower the per-credit cost.

The Monthly Plan costs 9.99 USD per month, and the Hair AI Salon Premium Yearly Plan costs 59.99 USD per year. The yearly plan costs less over a full year than twelve monthly payments, but requires an annual commitment. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled in Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Purchases are handled through those stores. Choose the free download for an initial look; opt for credits if you want a finite top-up, or a subscription if you expect to return regularly.

Platforms

Hair AI Salon is available on Android and iOS. Its intended use is personal and non-commercial: helping users visualize a potential change.

Who it's for

This is a good fit for someone comparing possible cuts or colours before discussing a change with a stylist, especially if they have a reference photo or a precise style in mind. It is less suited to people seeking a desktop or web option, or anyone unwilling to send photos to third-party AI providers for processing.

Pros and cons

Pros: More than 130 haircut choices, unlimited colour previews, custom prompts and reference-photo adaptation give users several ways to explore a look.
Pros: Free initial credits, a comparison slider and gallery saving support trying and discussing a preview before paying.
Cons: Continued previews may require purchases, and the 6.99 USD top-up does not state a credit quantity.
Cons: Image transformations involve sending uploaded photos to third-party AI providers, even though the policy rules out advertising and training use.
Cons: The app is mobile-only, and subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through the relevant store.

Alternatives

AI Hairstyle Generators is the broader category directory for comparing options. Choose The Right Hairstyles AI Hairstyle Changer if you want Android, iOS and web access, with one free try-on and 100-plus styles. HairHunt also offers Android, iOS and web access, a free try-on and a 9.99 USD monthly subscription with 200 credits each month. Consider Naee if you want an iOS-only option with a 3.99 EUR one-time pack of 5 credits. Pict.AI is an alternative with Android, iOS and web access; its free web access allows two uses per tool per IP address before directing further use to the mobile app. Snipd is available on iOS and web, with a free download and some features requiring Premium. HairTry suits users seeking a one-time starter purchase: its 4.99 USD pack includes 20 credits valid for 60 days. Mira is another freemium Android, iOS and web option. AI Hairstyle is web-only and has a Basic plan at 1.99 USD per month with 200 credits monthly.

Verdict

Choose Hair AI Salon if you want a mobile preview tool with a wide haircut selection, open-ended colour choices and the option to work from your own prompt or reference photo. Its free credits make an initial trial straightforward, while recurring use brings a choice between credit packs and auto-renewing plans. Look elsewhere if web access matters or you do not want personal photos sent to outside AI providers for processing.
