Overview

Goaltree is an AI-assisted goal planner for people who want help turning broad intentions into concrete next steps. It suits individual users balancing several goals, especially those who want daily priorities adjusted around progress and their calendar. Its focus on structured plans and a short daily task list is useful, though the free tier’s three-goal cap makes it a limited long-term option.

Key features

Describe a goal and Goaltree breaks it into milestones, targets and tasks. That structure gives open-ended ambitions a path forward, but the app’s value depends on whether its generated plan matches the user’s needs; the available plan features do not include dedicated goal-review tools.

Each day, the app selects five tasks from active goals using urgency, progress and momentum, and users can ask for more after finishing them. This puts a boundary around daily planning rather than asking users to choose from every outstanding task. Google Calendar integration, included with Pro, also checks the schedule and adjusts the task load to fit the day.

Replanning can follow a task being skipped three times, a missed milestone deadline or a direct request, while keeping completed milestones intact. Goals can be viewed as a structured list, a drag-and-drop Kanban board or a node graph. They can also be grouped across Health, Career, Mind, Finance, Relationships and Creative.

Goals may be shared by link, with editing access for collaborators and live cursors and updates. The MCP server lets compatible AI assistants read goals, show today’s tasks and mark tasks complete; Goaltree says it uses OAuth. These features give Goaltree collaboration and assistant connections beyond personal planning, though its Teams plan is marked “Soon.”

Pricing

Goaltree is freemium, with a free trial also offered. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes three active goals, AI goal breakdown, a Today view with five tasks per day, the web app and basic analytics. It is a sensible way to assess the planning approach, but three active goals can constrain anyone managing a broader set of priorities, and the plan comparison caps AI goal structuring at five uses per month.

Pro costs 9.00 USD per month, billed monthly; annual billing is also offered with 33% savings. It adds unlimited goals and AI structuring and replanning, Google Calendar integration, voice goal capture, native iOS and Android apps, streak tracking, advanced analytics and priority support. It is the practical choice for individuals who expect to maintain multiple goals or want calendar-aware planning; the free plan gives up those expanded limits and features.

Teams costs 16.00 USD per month per user, but the plan is labeled “Soon.” It is intended for shared goals and progress, a team Today view, manager dashboard, admin controls, SSO / SAML and dedicated onboarding. Because it is not yet presented as available, teams should not treat it as a current option. Goaltree invites students and nonprofits to inquire about discounts at hello@goaltree.ai.

Platforms

Goaltree supports Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. The web app can be installed as a PWA on Mac, Windows or Linux, and native iOS and Android apps are included with Pro.

Under its terms, users retain ownership of their content, while granting Goaltree a license to store, process and display it to provide the service. The terms also say content is not used for advertising or sold to third parties. Account access uses magic links, so users need to keep their email address valid and secure; users must be at least 13 years old.

Who it's for

Goaltree is best suited to people who want AI to turn goals into milestones and tasks, then narrow those tasks to a daily set. Pro is a better fit than Free for users with more than three active goals or those who want calendar integration and native mobile apps. It is less suited to people who need dedicated goal-review tools or require a currently available team plan.

Pros and cons

Pro: Goal breakdown, milestone-aware replanning and a five-task daily selection connect longer-term plans to manageable next steps.
Pro: List, Kanban and node-graph views offer different ways to inspect goals, while Google Calendar can make daily task selection responsive to schedule availability.
Con: The free plan limits users to three active goals and five AI structuring uses per month, so it may not sustain a broad planning habit.
Con: The Teams plan is marked “Soon,” leaving shared goals and its team controls without a current plan option.
Con: Dedicated goal-review tools are not part of the listed feature set, which matters to users who want structured periodic reviews.

Alternatives

Browse Goal Tracking Apps for a broader category comparison. Choose Week Plan instead if you want a planner centered on high-impact tasks; its free Lite plan includes basic planner features and High Impact Tasks. Weekdone is worth considering for a small team: its free plan supports up to three users and includes full features, live chat and OKR coaching/support.

For a lower-cost paid goal planner, Lifeplans offers Premium Weekly at 1.99 USD per month, billed $1.99/week, with AI Smart Planning, unlimited goals, advanced analytics and ad removal. Perdoo is a more specific fit for teams organizing strategy around OKRs and KPIs: its free plan supports up to five users and includes Strategy Maps, tracking, meetings, Slack and Teams integration, and an AI Assistant & Coach.

SmartProgress is another option for users whose goal count can start at two and increase with experience, with team goals for up to five people on its free account. Choose Strides if you want to track goals and habits on iOS or macOS; its free plan allows three goals and habits. Beeminder and Range are also alternatives.

Verdict

Goaltree is a strong fit for individual goal-setters who want an AI-structured plan and a daily shortlist that can account for progress and calendar commitments. Pro is the clearest choice for users who outgrow the three-goal free cap or need its calendar and mobile features. Look elsewhere if dedicated review tools are essential, or if your team needs collaboration features in a plan that is available now.
