Overview

GivenGain connects registered charities with fundraisers, events and donors, supporting campaigns that can reach people across borders. It suits charitable organizations that need campaign and donor tools without subscription or setup fees; payment processing and payout fees still apply. The firm eligibility boundary makes it a poor fit for personal fundraising.

Founded in 2001, GivenGain is a nonprofit foundation backed by foundations in Switzerland, the United States and the United Kingdom. It says it works with charities in more than 80 countries, serves donors and fundraisers in 194, and accepts any currency.

Key features

Fundraising pages can be created in under 60 seconds and shared by text, email or social media. That quick setup and built-in sharing suit event participants and individual fundraising champions who need a page to circulate without a lengthy campaign setup.

Charities can run unlimited campaigns, add multiple system users, set team permissions, and review real-time reports or export donor data. They can offer one-time and monthly fixed donation amounts, set fundraising minimums, and use a website donation widget. Together, these tools cover campaign administration and recurring giving, though the listed payment charges still affect the cost of donations.

Integrations include Salesforce, Zapier webhooks, Meta sharing, Double the Donation, MailChimp and Campaign Monitor. Live-stream fundraising can show donation notifications and fundraising progress in real time, adding a visible giving tracker for online events.

GivenGain says it has implemented PCI standards and strong access controls to achieve level 3 PCI compliance through its payment providers. User data is stored in a third-party data center in Ireland, while card credentials are stored with acquiring partner Adyen in the Netherlands. Assistance is directed through its help center and customer support.

Pricing

The GivenGain fundraising platform costs 0.00 USD per free, with no subscription or setup fees for charities, events or corporate partners. This is the core value proposition for eligible organizations: they can use the platform without a recurring software bill. It is not a no-cost donation channel, because third-party processing and payout fees apply.

Card and digital wallet/bank transfer processing costs 3.00 USD per once, billed at 3.0% per donation. It covers credit and debit cards, PayPal, TWINT, iDeal and DAF. Cryptocurrency processing costs 3.90 USD per once, billed at 3.9% per donation. These per-donation charges make the free platform less compelling for charities focused on minimizing transaction costs.

There is no free trial; the platform has a free plan. The published pricing does not describe a paid software tier, seat cap or campaign quota, while the platform feature set includes multiple users and unlimited campaigns.

Platforms

GivenGain supports Android, iOS and web. This gives participants and donors mobile access alongside a web-based charity platform.

Who it's for

GivenGain is aimed at registered charities and their fundraising champions and donors. It is a strong match for organizations that want to create multiple campaigns, manage teams and donor data, and accept donations internationally without subscription or setup charges.

It is not a personal crowdfunding service: GivenGain says it works only with registered charities and does not facilitate donations to individuals or personal bank accounts. Anyone fundraising for a personal need should choose another service.

Verdict

GivenGain is a good choice for registered charities that want international fundraising pages, team and donor tools, and campaign capacity without subscription or setup fees. Its breadth and free platform are the main reasons to choose it, but donation processing charges should be weighed against other options. Individuals seeking donations for themselves need a different service.
