Overview

Ordering.Tools combines digital menus with online ordering, payment options, and kitchen operations. Customers can browse a menu in their phone browser without installing an app or creating an account, removing a step before they decide what to order. Menus support sizes, modifiers, promotions, multiple languages, and labels for 14 major allergens, giving restaurants useful tools for varied offerings and dietary information.

Restaurants can accept dine-in, pickup, and delivery orders through the same system. Orders can appear on a kitchen screen, thermal printer, or admin panel, and customers receive automatic status updates. Linking orders to Reservation.Tools bookings lets the kitchen start preparing before guests arrive, a useful connection for reservation-led service.

Key features

Ordering and kitchen operations

Availability controls and POS synchronization support operational coordination, while the choice of kitchen screen, printer, or admin panel accommodates different ways of handling incoming orders. Marketplace integrations include Wolt, Glovo, Takeaway, Bolt Food, Foodpanda, and UberEats, which can bring orders from several services into the workflow. Restaurants that do not rely on those marketplaces may get less from this breadth.

Payments, AI, and security

Payment options include Stripe card payments with 3D Secure, MyPOS terminals, Barsy POS integration, and cash on pickup or delivery. Listed AI tools cover phone ordering, menu import from photos, smart upsells, an admin assistant, and product-description generation. The free plan's AI assistant questions and AI voice calls are subject to usage limits, so those allowances should not be treated as unlimited.

Security measures include encryption in transit and at rest for stored files and backups, role-based access, hashed passwords, and tenant isolation. The service identifies AWS infrastructure in Ireland and says it does not transfer data outside the EU/EEA, UK, and USA. Setup assistance is free, and most restaurants can go live within 30 minutes, which lowers the setup burden for smaller operators.

Pricing

The Free plan costs €0 and allows 20 orders per month with no commission. It is a sensible way to start or serve very low order volumes, but a busy restaurant can hit the cap quickly; AI assistant questions and voice calls also have usage limits.

Starter costs €30/month and allows unlimited monthly orders, but charges a 5% platform commission on all orders. It removes the free tier's order ceiling, yet that commission can become a significant ongoing cost as order volume rises. Pro costs €60/month, also with unlimited orders, and reduces the commission to 3%. It is the stronger fit for restaurants whose order volume makes the lower rate worth the higher monthly fee. Both paid tiers charge commission, so neither is a commission-free upgrade.

The phone system add-on is sold separately for a one-off €200 setup plus €60 per month, can be added to any plan, and excludes VAT. Consider that recurring cost alongside the selected plan and commission before committing.

Platforms

Ordering.Tools supports Android, iOS, and web. Customers can browse menus in a mobile browser without installing an app or creating an account, while restaurants can choose among several kitchen display and printing workflows.

Who it's for

Ordering.Tools suits restaurants and hospitality businesses that need one system for dine-in, pickup, and delivery, especially those that value marketplace integrations, menu controls, and routing orders to kitchen displays or printers. It is less attractive to high-volume operators sensitive to per-order fees, or to businesses that need more than 20 monthly orders but cannot justify commissions on paid plans.

Pros and cons

Pros: One system handles three order types and routes orders to a kitchen screen, thermal printer, or admin panel.
Pros: Customers can browse without an app or account, and menus support multiple languages and allergen labels for 14 major allergens.
Pros: Marketplace integrations, reservation-linked pre-orders, and several payment options can connect ordering with restaurant operations.
Cons: The free plan stops at 20 monthly orders, limiting its usefulness for restaurants with regular online demand.
Cons: Starter and Pro charge 5% and 3% commissions on all orders, respectively, in addition to their monthly fees.
Cons: The phone system adds €60 per month and a one-off €200 setup fee, excluding VAT.

Alternatives

Restaurant Menu Management Software and Kitchen Display System Software are category directories for comparing options focused on those needs.

Choose Quiteful if a free menu tool with a defined small footprint is preferable: its free plan allows 20 active items, one menu, and one location, but has no analytics dashboard or POS integrations. Prestau Menu Author is another option to compare for web-based menu authoring, with a free tier and a Standard Plan at $49.00 USD per month per restaurant.

Fee Free Ordering may suit operators prioritizing a free order allowance: its free Core ordering platform permits 100 orders per month, compared with Ordering.Tools' 20, and it supports web, iOS, and Android. For a paid alternative with a stated annual-billing price, FineDine has a Starter plan at €27.00 per month billed annually, with limits including 100 menu items, 20 dine-in tables, and 1,000 monthly orders.

WowMenu, GloriaFood, Otter, and Fourth Nutrition & Menu Publishing are also alternatives to compare.

Verdict

Ordering.Tools is a strong fit for restaurants seeking connected menus, ordering, and kitchen workflows across dine-in, pickup, and delivery. Its marketplace links, reservation-related pre-orders, and broad payment choices give it practical range. The key reason to look elsewhere is the economics: 20 monthly orders on the free plan, then a monthly fee plus commission on paid tiers. Choose it if those trade-offs suit your volume and margins; otherwise, compare options with a larger free allowance or a pricing model better suited to your order mix.
