Overview

Ganttic is resource-planning software for coordinating project portfolios, work and the people or assets assigned to them. It suits teams that need to schedule varied resources in one visual planner, especially small businesses that can stay within the free plan’s 10-resource cap.

Its resource-based pricing and unlimited users make it a practical fit when many people need access but the number of planned resources is modest. The trade-off is that API access requires a paid plan, which matters if integrations are central to your workflow.

Key features

Ganttic’s online Gantt planner offers resource and task views, with drag-and-drop scheduling. That flexibility is useful when work depends on allocating not just staff but also rooms, machinery, vehicles or equipment. Time blocking, recurring tasks and workload planning support day-to-day scheduling, while reports and Kanban boards give teams other ways to review work.

Calendar syncing with Google Calendar and Outlook, plus Zapier integrations and an API, can connect planning to other workflows. The API is restricted to paid plans, although trial users can request access to test it. Customizable Owner, Admin and User permissions and an account History Log help teams manage access and retain an activity record.

Ganttic says it hosts its service on AWS servers in Frankfurt, Germany, and is GDPR compliant. Its stated safeguards include AWS WAF protection, TLS 1.2 encryption, annual third-party penetration tests and backups four times daily. Email support, help materials and free unlimited personalized support demos round out the offering.

Pricing

Pricing is based on the number of resources planned, not the number of users; every plan includes unlimited users. That can suit organizations where many colleagues need to view or update plans, while teams with many schedulable assets should pay close attention to the resource cap.

Free: 0.00 USD per free, billed monthly. It supports up to 10 resources, unlimited users and projects, Gantt charts, reports and Kanban boards. The free resource planner is also described as including all features except API access, so this tier works best for small teams that can do without API integrations.
PRO 20: 25.00 USD per month, billed monthly. It raises the limit to 20 resources and includes unlimited users and projects, all features and API access. This is the straightforward step up for teams that outgrow the free cap or need the API.

A 14-day trial includes all features, unlimited resources and users, and does not require a credit card. Since the trial can exceed the resource limits of the free plan, it gives larger teams room to assess the planner before choosing a tier.

Platforms

Ganttic is available on the web and has mobile apps for Android and Apple devices. The API is a paid-plan integration option rather than a feature of the free plan.

Who it's for

Ganttic is a strong match for businesses that schedule a mix of people and physical resources, and want portfolio planning and resource allocation in the same tool. Small businesses or individual planners with 10 or fewer resources can start free without limiting user access. Larger operations should compare their resource count with plan limits before committing; teams that need API access should plan on a paid tier.

Pros and cons

Pros: Unlimited users across plans keep per-user pricing from penalizing broad team access.
Pros: The planner handles people and non-human resources, making it relevant to teams coordinating equipment, vehicles or spaces as well as staff.
Pros: A 14-day, no-card trial with unlimited resources and users allows a fuller evaluation than the free tier’s 10-resource limit.
Cons: The free plan excludes API access, a meaningful constraint for teams that rely on custom integrations.
Cons: The free tier’s 10-resource ceiling may be restrictive for organizations planning many assets, even though it allows unlimited users and projects.

Alternatives

For a broader category comparison, see Resource Management Software, Gantt Chart Software and Time Management Apps.

Teamdeck is worth considering if a free plan capped by team members rather than resources better matches your planning needs: its Startup tier allows up to six team members.
Tempo Portfolio Manager may suit teams that prefer explicit member, project and task quotas: its free tier includes 10 members, three projects and 300 tasks.
Napta is another paid option for teams comparing resource-planning software.
Scoro may be a fit for teams seeking a paid product with a Time-billing plan listed at 17.00 USD per month.
Mosaic may appeal to teams looking for a free plan that includes project and resource planning alongside task management and time tracking.
Retain is another paid option to consider when comparing planning tools.
eResource Scheduler may suit teams comparing paid resource schedulers, with a free trial and a Scheduling Plus tier listed at 3.00 USD per month.
Productive may suit teams comparing paid options with per-seat plans; its Essential tier is 10.00 USD per month with a three-seat minimum.

Verdict

Choose Ganttic if your work depends on allocating people and physical resources in a shared Gantt-based planner, and unlimited users matter more than a low resource cap. Its free tier is a useful starting point for up to 10 resources, while paid access unlocks the API and more capacity. Look elsewhere if you need API access without paying or if your resource count makes the available plan limits a poor fit.
