Overview

GalleryVault is a mobile privacy app for people who want photos, videos, and other files kept apart from their regular gallery. Its mix of file hiding, a private download browser, and optional cloud storage makes it more useful than a basic photo locker, though the cloud allowance and deletion window deserve attention.

The app is available for Android and iOS. It supports images, video, audio, and documents, and can encrypt media on SD cards. GalleryVault says stored files use its own encryption, while its help center says data is kept on the device and recommends backing up important files. That makes backup a practical part of using the vault, not an afterthought.

Key features

Private storage and capture: Add existing photos and videos or take them in the app. Support for audio, documents, and SD-card media gives it a broader role than a photo-only vault.
Private browser: A single tap can download all images and videos from a web page. That is convenient for collecting media directly into the app, but its value is greatest for users who regularly save web content.
Disguised access: GalleryVault can hide its icon and offers a secret door. These options add discretion, but they are not a substitute for keeping a separate backup of files.
Security controls: Paid features include fingerprint unlock, folder lock, fake passcode, a random PIN keyboard, shake-to-close, and break-in alerts. The range is useful for people who want more control over access; casual users may not need to pay for that layer.
Backup and deletion: Backup and restore are available, and encrypted files can be stored through Google Drive sync. Free users can upload up to 100 new files per month. Deleted photos stay in the recycle bin for 60 days before automatic removal, so restore is not a long-term safety net.

Pricing

GalleryVault has a free plan and paid options. The paid plans share the same stated bundle: 100GB of cloud storage, the listed security controls, and no ads. The 7-day trial applies to six-month and one-year subscriptions.

Plan	Price	Best fit
Free plan	Free	Try the vault and use Google Drive sync within the 100-new-files-per-month cap.
MonthSubscription	9.90 CNY per month	Short-term access to the paid bundle.
One-time Payment — 1 Months	15.00 CNY per once	A one-month option for readers who prefer a one-time charge over the monthly subscription.
One-time Payment — 6 Months	49.00 CNY per once	Six months of the bundle without a recurring subscription.
YearSubscription	68.00 CNY per year	Ongoing use at a lower monthly equivalent than the monthly plan.
One-time Payment — 1 Years	95.00 CNY per once	A year of access paid upfront, without a subscription.

The subscription choices and one-time options have different terms, so compare the duration as well as the price. The free tier gives up the paid 100GB cloud-storage bundle and premium security controls; the Google Drive limit also matters if you expect to upload more than 100 new files in a month.

Platforms

GalleryVault is available on Android and iOS. Support for SD cards is a particular practical advantage for Android users who store media outside the phone’s internal storage.

Who it's for

Choose GalleryVault if you want a mobile vault that handles more than photos, value in-app capture or one-tap web media downloads, and want the option of disguised access and paid security controls. It is less suited to someone who needs generous free cloud syncing or expects deleted items to remain recoverable beyond 60 days.

Pros and cons

Pros

Broad file support: Images, video, audio, documents, and SD-card media make it useful beyond a standard photo locker.
Useful collection tools: In-app capture and one-tap page downloads can keep media gathering within the vault.
Multiple access safeguards: Paid fingerprint, folder-lock, decoy-passcode, and break-in features suit users seeking extra privacy controls.
Backup choices: File backup and restore plus encrypted Google Drive storage provide options beyond keeping files only on the device.

Cons

Free Drive syncing is capped: A maximum of 100 new uploads monthly may be restrictive for large or frequently updated libraries.
Recycle-bin recovery is temporary: Deleted photos are automatically removed after 60 days.
Some security features require payment: Users wanting fingerprint unlock, folder lock, and other listed controls need a paid plan.

Alternatives

Browse Photo Vault Apps for more options. Consider Keepsafe Photo Vault if its free tier of 200 cloud items or its 9.99 USD per month Premium plan better matches your storage needs. PhotoGuard is an Android-only option with a free download, ads, and in-app purchases. Obscura Photo Vault is an iOS alternative whose free tier holds up to 50 photos in one vault, with a 6.99 USD per month Pro plan for unlimited photos, videos, and vaults. Private Photo Vault offers an on-device basic vault on Android and iOS, but switching to Basic deletes Cloud Backup. Secret Album: Photo Vault is a free encrypted photo-and-video vault for iPhone and iPad, also available on macOS. Magic Photo Vault is another free Android and iOS option, with a 2 GB private-cloud plan. Vaulty is Android-only and pairs a free plan with automatic Google Drive backup, though it includes ads. Quantum Media Vault supports Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

Verdict

GalleryVault is a strong fit for mobile users who want a discreet, flexible vault with broad file support, convenient web downloads, and optional paid access safeguards. Choose it for that combination; look elsewhere if a generous free cloud allowance or a longer recovery window is central to your decision.
