Overview

FlowCV brings resume creation, matching cover letters, and a job application tracker into one web app. Users can start from a template or import an existing resume as a PDF, DOCX, PNG, or JPG, or paste in text. That flexibility can save re-entry work, while the tracker gives applicants a place to manage job details, documents, statuses, and follow-up tasks.

The service says its templates are ATS-friendly and its exported PDFs are text-based, use embedded fonts, and have a simple structure. Those are useful qualities for readable, machine-parsable documents, though no template or export can guarantee a particular hiring outcome.

Key features

Resume creation and export

FlowCV offers more than 100 customizable resume templates. Its promise of unlimited watermark-free PDF downloads is a meaningful advantage for applicants who need to tailor and send documents often. Free users can keep one resume editable and downloadable; additional saved versions become locked after downgrading until the account returns to a paid plan. That makes Free workable for one active resume, but a poor archive for someone maintaining several versions.

Cover letters and AI

A cover letter can match the design of a resume, helping keep an application visually consistent. Free includes one cover letter, while Pro removes that cap. FlowCV’s AI tools cover writing suggestions, skills curation, proofreading, and qualification recommendations. Job matching and resume coaching are marked as coming soon, so they should not factor into a purchase decision today.

Application tracking and privacy

The Job Application Tracker combines job details and document storage with Kanban status tracking and follow-up tasks. It is most useful to applicants managing multiple active applications; people who only need a resume may not benefit enough to pay for it. FlowCV says it is GDPR-compliant, does not sell personal data, and lets users delete their account and data. Its privacy policy describes rights to access, rectify, erase, object to processing, and request portability, with responses promised within one month at least. It avoids marketing cookies while identifying Stripe and Unsplash as third-party cookie services.

Pricing

Plan	Price	Includes
Free	0.00 USD per free	Billed Free forever; 1 resume and 1 cover letter
Pro	5.00 USD per month	$60 billed yearly; unlimited resumes, cover letters, and imports, plus the Job Application Tracker and AI features

Free is the sensible starting point for someone preparing a single resume and cover letter. It also allows unlimited watermark-free PDF downloads, but does not include Pro’s unlimited saved capacity, imports, tracker, or AI features. Pro fits frequent applicants who need multiple resume versions, repeated imports, and application organization; the $5.00 USD per month price is billed as $60 yearly, so it is not a month-to-month commitment. FlowCV has no free trial. A paid subscriber who is dissatisfied can contact support within 14 days of purchase for a refund.

Platforms

FlowCV runs on the web. It is a fit for people comfortable building and managing application materials in a browser, rather than those seeking a dedicated desktop or mobile app.

Who it's for

FlowCV is best for job seekers who want an ATS-oriented resume builder, clean PDF exports, matching cover letters, and a tracker in one place. Free suits a focused search with one primary resume; Pro makes more sense for applicants tailoring several versions or juggling many applications. It is less compelling for someone who only needs a one-off document or wants unlimited saved resumes without an annual Pro payment.

Pros and cons

Pros: More than 100 customizable templates and multiple import formats give applicants ways to start from scratch or reuse existing content.
Pros: Unlimited watermark-free, text-based PDFs make repeated sharing practical without sacrificing a simple document structure.
Pros: Matching cover letters and a tracker with status and follow-up tools connect document preparation with application management.
Cons: Free is capped at one editable, downloadable resume and one cover letter; extra saved versions lock after downgrading.
Cons: Pro is billed yearly at $60, which is a substantial commitment for a short job search.
Cons: FlowCV is web-only, and job matching and resume coaching are not yet available.

Alternatives

For more options, browse Resume Builders, Resume Design Software, or Cover Letter Software.

Rezi is another freemium web resume option, also available as an extension and on iOS. Its Free plan allows one resume and one AI interview but caps PDF downloads at three, so choose it if those other platforms matter more than FlowCV’s unlimited PDF exports.
Resume.io offers a seven-day trial and a premium plan with unlimited resumes and cover letters. It is worth considering if a trial or unlimited documents is the priority.
Resume Genius has Android, iOS, and web apps. Free resume downloads are TXT-only, while cover letters can be downloaded as PDF, Word, or TXT; choose it if mobile access matters and TXT resume output is sufficient.
MyPerfectResume is a freemium option with Android, iOS, and web access. It may suit applicants who prefer a mobile app.
ResumeBuilder.com includes a free builder, cover letter generator, professional templates, and unlimited TXT downloads. Consider it if free TXT output meets your needs.
Zety is a web-based freemium alternative for building resumes and cover letters.
Reactive Resume is a free web-based alternative.
Resume-Now is a freemium web-based alternative.

Verdict

Choose FlowCV if you want a browser-based workflow that pairs customizable, ATS-oriented resumes and matching cover letters with PDF exports and application tracking. Free is useful for one active resume; Pro’s unlimited capacity is better for a sustained, high-volume search, but its $60 yearly billing makes it less attractive for a brief one. Look elsewhere if mobile apps, a short-term trial, or avoiding an annual paid plan matters more than keeping documents and applications together.
