Overview

Unitpost brings template creation together with the systems for delivering and monitoring email. Teams can work visually or in TSX, personalize templates with typed variables and fallbacks, preview them, and send tests to a real inbox. That mix serves developer-led workflows without requiring every contributor to write code.

Delivery, open, and click tracking plus an event timeline provide useful visibility into message activity. Contacts support custom fields and segments, and opt-outs, bounces, and complaints are automatically suppressed. Inbound email parsing can route messages into customer workflows, extending the service beyond outbound sending.

Key features

Flexible creation and integration

Custom HTML editing and HTML export complement the visual and TSX editors. SDKs cover Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, Laravel, Go, Rust, Java, and .NET; teams can also connect through a REST API or SMTP relay. The hosted MCP server is presented for use with Cursor, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Gemini CLI, Windsurf, OpenCode, and Grok. This range is a strong fit for varied development stacks, though teams that only need a standalone design editor may not need the sending infrastructure.

Delivery operations and safeguards

Unitpost describes DKIM, SPF, and DMARC authentication, automatic suppression, idempotency, and rate limits as deliverability measures. HMAC-signed webhooks are retried until acknowledged, which is useful for workflows that depend on receiving events reliably. Security controls include encryption in transit and at rest, managed-key encryption for sensitive credentials, hashed API keys, rate limiting, and access controls.

Unitpost acts as processor for recipient and message data, uses it to provide the service, and says it does not sell it. Work Reactor Inc. operates Unitpost from Wilmington, Delaware. Intercom handles in-app and website support messaging; dedicated support is included with Enterprise.

Pricing

Unitpost is freemium, with a Free plan and paid plans. The plan card shows Starter at $30.00 USD per month and Growth at $200.00 USD per month, although the entry-level paid price is also stated as $10.0 /mo. That discrepancy makes it worth confirming the applicable starting tier before budgeting.

Plan	Price	Included limits and terms
Free	0.00 USD per free	5,000 emails/month, 200 emails/day, 10,000 contacts, 5 domains, 2 webhook endpoints, and 25 MB hosted image storage.
Starter	30.00 USD per month	50k emails on the plan card; comparison table gives ~20k–125k emails, 10 domains, 3 team seats, 5 webhooks, 10 API keys, and no daily sending cap.
Growth	200.00 USD per month	250k emails on the plan card; comparison table gives ~250k–1M emails, 100 domains, 10 team seats, 25 webhooks, 50 API keys, and priority deliverability.
Enterprise	Custom pricing	Custom rates and limits, dedicated support, and annual invoicing and ACH.

Free is a practical starting point for side projects, with generous contact capacity but a daily cap as well as a monthly quota. Sending stops when either limit is reached. Starter targets production apps and removes the daily cap, but its three seats and lower domain, webhook, and API-key allowances suit smaller teams. Growth is aimed at scaling teams that need substantially more domains and collaboration capacity, along with priority deliverability. Enterprise is for senders handling 1M+ or needing custom terms.

Paid plans allow overage sending up to twice the monthly allowance, after which sending pauses. That ceiling matters for launches or traffic spikes: a larger tier or custom arrangement may be safer than relying on overage. Free carries no overage buffer once its monthly quota or daily cap is reached.

Platforms

Unitpost is offered on the web and through an API. The SMTP relay and broad SDK coverage provide additional ways to connect existing applications and services.

Who it's for

Unitpost makes the most sense for developers and product teams combining email design with production delivery, contact management, tracking, and inbound processing. Its code and visual paths, API and SMTP options, and webhook support can reduce the need to split those jobs across tools. It is less compelling for users seeking only a lightweight email design workspace or for senders whose required volume exceeds a plan's sending ceiling without custom terms.

Pros and cons

Pros: Visual and TSX templates, typed personalization, previews, and real-inbox tests support both developer and non-developer contributors.
Pros: API, SMTP, many SDKs, inbound parsing, and retried signed webhooks cover a broad set of integration patterns.
Pros: Contact segmentation and automatic suppression pair useful audience controls with delivery safeguards.
Cons: Free sending stops at either the monthly quota or daily cap, so it is not a dependable buffer for sudden bursts.
Cons: Paid sending pauses after overage reaches twice the monthly allowance, which can constrain high-volume spikes.
Cons: Starter and Growth have different quota ranges in the comparison table than the headline plan-card amounts, and the stated paid-from price differs from Starter's plan-card price; confirm the tier and allowance before committing.

Alternatives

For a broader directory of options, see Email Template Software and Email Design Software.

Canary is a free inbox-focused option with unified inbox, read receipts, snooze and pin, templates, and Inbox Zero; choose it when managing personal email matters more than sending infrastructure.
MJML is an open-source, MIT-licensed alternative with a free-to-use REST API; choose it when an open-source email markup workflow is the priority.
Blocks Edit is another option for email design and collaboration.
Dragble is another option for creating email content.
MailEditor is another option for email template work.
PostBrix is another option for email content workflows.
Serious Email Studio is another option for email design.
Stripo is another option for email creation.

Verdict

Choose Unitpost if your team wants one service for building templates, integrating delivery, organizing contacts, and tracking message events. Its strongest advantage is the breadth of code, API, SMTP, and workflow support; the main reason to look elsewhere is the strict pause behavior and the need to verify which paid quota and price apply to your use.
