Overview

FinStak is a CRM for financial advisory practices, built on Zoho’s CRM platform. It is best suited to firms that want lead management alongside marketing and project tracking; the per-user fees and setup charges make the choice of tier worth weighing carefully.

Its sales tools follow leads through a funnel and let firms organize deals across multiple pipelines and stages. FinStak also includes workflow automation and lists financial planning, compliance workflows, and a document vault among its capabilities. For a broader comparison, see our Financial Advisor Software guide.

Key features

Lead management and marketing

Email workflows can notify users, create tasks, and update CRM fields, which helps practices automate routine follow-up. Built-in email marketing covers templates, drip campaigns, one-off messages, and delivery and read tracking. Embedded web forms collect leads, while survey responses are added to contact records. Together, these tools suit practices that want outreach and prospect data connected to the CRM rather than managed separately.

Security, backups, and integrations

FinStak lists audit logs, two-factor authentication, regular backups, and role- and profile-based permissions. Two data backups per month are included at no charge, and users can choose the frequency and day of the week. Calendar and task syncing with Microsoft365 or Google helps connect scheduling to daily work, though the product’s stated backup allowance is modest for firms seeking more frequent free copies.

Projects and mobile access

FinStak Projects adds Gantt charts, tasks, issues, and milestones for tracking work beyond sales. It is included from Pro upward, so Basic users do not get this project-tracking package. Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android, alongside web access.

Pricing

FinStak has a free plan and a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. A live web-conference demo, lasting about 30 minutes with Q&A, gives firms another way to assess the product before committing. Paid plans are priced per user, and each carries a setup fee, so costs rise with seat count and onboarding requirements.

Basic: $60 /user/month billed annually, or $70 month-to-month, plus a $500 setup fee. It is CRM Only, making it the entry option for practices focused on CRM rather than the bundled Forms, Survey, and Projects tools.
Pro: $80 /user/month billed annually, or $90 month-to-month, plus a $1,000 setup fee. It includes Basic, FinStak Forms, FinStak Survey, and FinStak Projects. This tier fits firms that want data collection and project tracking integrated with CRM.
Premier: $100 /user/month billed annually, or $125 month-to-month, plus a $2,000 setup fee. It includes Pro and FinStak Analytics, making it the tier for practices that also want the analytics package.

Basic is the least costly paid route, but moving up adds both a higher recurring per-user charge and a larger one-time setup fee. Firms should compare those costs against the specific Forms, Survey, Projects, and Analytics inclusions they need.

Platforms

FinStak supports web, Android, and iOS. The mobile apps extend access beyond the web product for advisors and teams working across devices.

Who it's for

The product is aimed at independent financial advisors, planners, solo advisors, ensemble practices, registered investment advisory firms, enterprise firms, broker-dealers, and wealth management firms. Its mix of CRM, marketing, and project tracking is most compelling for advisory practices seeking several operational tools in one platform. Firms that need only CRM can begin with Basic; those needing the Forms, Survey, or Projects package must consider Pro or Premier.

FinStak identifies founder Mahesh “MO” Odhrani and describes itself as an authorized Zoho partner focused on financial advisors, planners, and registered investment advisors. Support options include a Contact Help Desk; a Help Center is forthcoming.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple deal pipelines, email campaigns, forms, and surveys connect prospecting and contact information to the CRM.
Pros: Pro bundles Forms, Survey, and project tracking, while Premier adds Analytics for firms needing that extra package.
Pros: iOS and Android apps, calendar syncing, and role-based permissions support teams using the system across devices and roles.
Cons: Paid pricing is per user, with setup fees of $500 to $2,000, so larger teams face both recurring and upfront costs.
Cons: Basic is CRM Only; practices needing FinStak Projects, Forms, or Survey must move to Pro or above.
Cons: The free backup allowance is two per month, which may not suit firms wanting a higher included frequency.

Alternatives

MoneyGuide is a better fit for advisors seeking financial-planning blocks and prospecting access, with its MyBlocks Individual plan at 125.00 USD per month per advisor on an annual subscription paid monthly; it has no free plan but offers a trial. Xplan may suit firms wanting packages and modules selected to fit business requirements; its price is custom pricing through Iress.

AdvisorEngine CRM is worth comparing for firms that can meet its three-user minimum and value unlimited document storage and priority support; its plan is 69.00 USD per year per user per month, billed annually. Orion Portfolio Accounting may suit practices seeking accounting-oriented billing and reporting alongside planning and a client portal; its Foundation plan starts at 13000.00 USD per year.

eMoney Advisor is another paid option, with custom pricing based on organizational needs and a free trial. Investwell Mint may suit firms whose pricing decision is tied to assets under management: its starting price is 25000.00 INR per year for AUM up to 25 Cr, with unlimited users and one plan.

Practifi offers paid tiers including Practifi Naya at 135.00 USD per month and Practifi Sentir at 195.00 USD per month, with tiering by firm size and configuration. RightCapital may suit advisors comparing a planning-focused option; its Basic plan is 149.95 USD per year per advisor per month, and plans require an annual commitment for the first year.

Verdict

FinStak is a strong candidate for advisory practices that want CRM, outreach, and project tracking under one roof, especially when Pro’s bundled tools match their workflow. Choose Basic for CRM-only needs, and look elsewhere if the setup fees, per-user pricing, or tier restrictions outweigh the benefit of its connected toolset.
