Overview

EngageSlide turns presentations into live audience sessions, combining interactive slides with tools for presenters. It suits educators, meeting hosts and event organizers who want people to take part from a phone or browser. Its clearest advantage is the range of activities and response controls; the main trade-off is that the free plan’s 10-person limit makes it a poor fit for larger groups.

Key features

Participants can join with a QR code or link, without installing an app or creating an account. That removes a hurdle for one-off audiences, while presenters can use polls, quizzes, word clouds, Q&A and reactions to keep a session interactive. Responses appear in real time, including as charts and word clouds, and live Q&A gives presenters a way to manage questions during the session.

A smartphone can act as a presenter remote, with slide controls, private speaker notes and live Q&A management. The feature is useful when a presenter wants to move around rather than stay at a computer, though remote control is included in Pro rather than Basic.

AI can draft presentation outlines and slide content, create polls, quizzes and word-cloud questions, and summarize audience responses. Prompts and slide context may be sent to OpenAI; private audience responses and personal information are not used to train the models. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS, and AI subprocessors must maintain SOC2 and GDPR compliance. Organizations with stricter rules about sending slide context to an external AI provider should weigh that disclosure before using these features.

EngageSlide integrates with PowerPoint, Google Slides and Microsoft Teams, and also mentions Miro. Teams users can run polls, word clouds and quizzes inside meetings. Presentation insights can be exported to PDF or Excel. A Windows desktop companion supports the PowerPoint integration, while the Chrome extension for Google Slides supports animated content.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows up to 10 live participants, with unlimited audiences per month, all slide types, and live chat and email support. It is a practical way to use the full range of slide interactions in small sessions, but the participant cap is restrictive for most classes, meetings or events.

Basic costs 4.79 USD per month (billed annually) and raises the limit to 100 live participants. It adds PDF and Excel exports, advanced analytics, team collaboration and priority support. This is the most economical step up for regular groups that need larger sessions or reporting; it does not include the remote control listed with Pro.

Pro costs 8.99 USD per month (billed annually) and supports 5,000 live participants. It includes advanced analytics, team collaboration and priority support, plus custom logo and branding and remote control. It suits large events and presenters who need a branded experience or phone-based control. Enterprise has custom pricing, flexible participant limits, custom features, Single Sign-On, company-wide branding, a white-label solution and a dedicated account manager; it is aimed at organizations that need administration and branding beyond a fixed plan.

Platforms

EngageSlide is available on Android, iOS, web, Windows and as an extension. The presentation platform is web-based, with specific integrations for PowerPoint, Google Slides and Microsoft Teams. The Windows companion and Chrome extension extend those presentation workflows, rather than replacing the core web platform.

Who it's for

Educators can use quizzes, polls and word clouds to collect responses during lessons; business presenters can add Q&A and live feedback to meetings; and event hosts can involve larger audiences on Pro. EngageSlide is less suitable for a group that needs more than 10 participants but is unwilling to pay, or for organizations unwilling to send prompts and slide context to OpenAI when using AI features.

Pros and cons

Pros: Joining by QR code or link requires no app or account, reducing setup for attendees.
Pros: Polls, quizzes, Q&A, word clouds and reactions pair with real-time response views, giving presenters several ways to engage an audience and read the room.
Pros: Pro raises capacity to 5,000 participants and adds branding and remote control, while Enterprise offers flexible limits and company-wide options.
Cons: Free is capped at 10 live participants, so even modestly sized groups may need a paid plan.
Cons: Remote control is reserved for Pro, so Basic users do not get that presenter convenience.
Cons: AI prompts and slide context may be sent to OpenAI, a consideration for sensitive material even though private audience responses and personal information are not used to train models.

Verdict

Choose EngageSlide if you want varied live interactions, real-time response views and a presenter remote in one presentation workflow, especially for groups large enough to justify Basic or Pro. Its no-install joining is a meaningful advantage for attendees. Look elsewhere if you need a generous free audience cap or cannot use AI features that may send prompts and slide context to OpenAI.
