Overview

Eleven Music is a web-based music generator and editor for creators who want to direct and refine songs. It suits video makers, musicians, and production teams who can work within a monthly credit budget; its main strength is combining targeted editing with stem and API tools.

Generation costs 900 credits per minute, so the free plan’s 10,000 monthly credits amount to about 11 minutes. That free tier is personal-use only. Paid self-serve plans allow online and offline commercial use subject to exclusions, but commercial rights vary by subscription tier, and streaming release to Spotify and Apple Music is a plan feature rather than a universal entitlement.

Key features

Directed creation and section edits: Set genre, mood, instruments, and structure, then adjust elements or regenerate a selected passage. That is useful when a track needs focused revision rather than another full generation.
Audio and stems: Audio upload, vocal generation, stem editing, and stem export give creators more ways to shape source material and separate parts for further work. MP3 and WAV export cover common delivery needs.
API composition: Music v1 and v2 are available through ElevenAPI, which supports generation, audio reference, inpainting, and long-form composition. This makes Eleven Music relevant to developers building music workflows, not just people composing in the browser.
Language and commercial workflows: Music v2 supports English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and more. Generated tracks can be used in ads, branded content, games, film, and video workflows, subject to the applicable plan terms.
Marketplace: Creators can publish tracks and earn when others download, remix, or use them. The marketplace adds a possible distribution route, though it does not change the credit limits of a subscription.

Pricing

Plans offer monthly and yearly billing. The prices below are monthly rates; the free plan renews with 10,000 credits per month, and generation uses 900 credits per minute.

Free — 0.00 USD per free: 10,000 credits per month for personal use. It is a useful way to explore the workflow, but the roughly 11-minute monthly allowance and lack of commercial use make it a poor fit for recurring client work.
Starter — 6.00 USD per month: 30,000 credits, about 33 minutes, and two concurrent generations. Commercial use is allowed, but streaming is not. This is the lowest-cost paid option for modest production needs where streaming release is unnecessary.
Creator — 22.00 USD per month: 121,000 credits, about 134 minutes, and two concurrent generations. Commercial use is allowed but not enterprise use. It suits regular individual creation better than Starter, while retaining a defined quota and excluding enterprise usage.
Pro — 99.00 USD per month: 600,000 credits, about 667 minutes, and two concurrent generations. It raises the monthly production ceiling substantially, but still does not include enterprise use.
Scale — 299.00 USD per month: 1,800,000 credits and three seats. The higher quota and multi-seat setup suit small teams, though this plan’s stated allowance is not expressed as an estimated number of minutes.
Business — 990.00 USD per month: 6,000,000 credits and ten seats. It is aimed at larger teams with greater monthly volume; commercial rights remain subject to the subscription terms.
Enterprise — custom pricing: Custom credits, seats, terms, and assurance, plus custom SSO and priority support. This is the fit for organizations that need tailored capacity or enterprise support.

Platforms

Eleven Music runs on the web. It exports MP3 and WAV audio, but no mobile platform is listed for this product.

Who it's for

Choose Eleven Music if you need to iterate on generated songs, export stems, or connect music generation to an API workflow. Its free tier works for personal exploration; paid plans make more sense for commercial projects, with the tier chosen around the credit allowance, streaming needs, and team size. It is less suitable if you need a generous free commercial tier or want streaming rights included at the cheapest paid level.

Pros and cons

Pro: Regenerating one section avoids having to rebuild a nearly finished track.
Pro: Stems, audio upload, and MP3/WAV export support editing beyond the initial generation.
Pro: API support for reference audio, inpainting, and long-form composition extends use into software workflows.
Con: At 900 credits per minute, the free allowance covers only about 11 minutes monthly.
Con: The free tier is personal-use only, while commercial rights vary by paid plan and include exclusions.
Con: Starter allows commercial use but not streaming, so creators planning releases to Spotify or Apple Music need to check plan eligibility.

Alternatives

AI Music Generators is a useful starting point for comparing tools across the category.

Choose Suno if Android or iOS access matters more than Eleven Music’s web-only availability; its free plan includes 50 credits per day and an 8-minute audio upload allowance.

MusicWave.ai is another freemium web option, with a free tier offering 10 signup credits for two song generations and personal, streaming-only use.

Consider SongUp AI if its free offer of three instant songs better matches a small personal-use trial.

Treblo is an alternative web, iOS, and Android option with a free plan and trial.

Wubble offers a free plan with unlimited generation minutes and three total downloads, a different tradeoff for creators who prioritize generation volume over downloads.

Udio is an alternative with web and iOS access; its free plan provides 10 daily credits and 100 monthly credits.

Melody Genie is another freemium option, available on web and Android, with 14 shared credits per month and three full AI songs on its free plan.

Mubert is a freemium alternative available on web, iOS, and Android.

Verdict

Eleven Music is a strong choice for creators who need section-level revisions, stems, and API access in one web-based music workflow. Its clearest reason to choose it is the control it offers after generation; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the credit ceiling and tier-dependent commercial and streaming terms. Match the plan to both expected output and intended use before relying on it for paid work.
