Overview

Edvoy says its catalogue covers more than 75,000 courses and its partnerships include more than 750 universities in major study destinations. It supports study searches across 20 destination countries, with program search, institution comparison and tools to manage applications and documents.

The service began as IEC Abroad in 2006 and became a digital platform under the Edvoy name in 2020. Its reach and combination of search, application and student-service guidance make it useful for students navigating several steps at once, though university choice and admission remain decisions students must make with institutions.

Key features

Course matching and applications

Genie considers academic qualifications, English scores, study gap, budget and regional rules, then places course matches into three admission-prospect groups. That gives students a structured way to narrow a large catalogue, but the groups are not admissions decisions: universities retain discretion over acceptance.

Students can upload documents, apply to courses and track application status through the Edvoy portal and app. This makes Edvoy more useful than a search-only directory for applicants who want to keep application materials and progress together.

Counselling and student services

Free one-to-one online counselling has no session limit, a meaningful advantage for students who want to revisit questions as their plans develop. Edvoy also provides guidance on university selection, applications, visas, education loans, accommodation and IELTS training. It is a broad support offer, but guidance is not a substitute for decisions or services provided by universities and other providers.

Accommodation and offers

Edvoy Stays connects students with verified accommodation near more than 450 universities and says bookings carry no service charge. Express Offers are limited to select UK universities and are offers in principle, not confirmed admission; students should not treat them as a guarantee.

Privacy and payments

Edvoy says it complies with GDPR and applicable data-protection laws, hosts on AWS and sends financial transactions directly to third-party payment processors. It identifies Flywire among providers used for Edvoy Pay.

Pricing

Edvoy’s listed plans are free: Edvoy Genie costs 0.00 USD per free for AI course matching and three admission-prospect categories, while Video counselling costs 0.00 USD per free for one-to-one sessions with no session limit and no hidden fees. The main trade-off is that free matching and counselling cannot guarantee an offer; acceptance remains the university’s decision.

Free access is a strong fit for students who want help narrowing choices or recurring counselling without a platform charge. The stated plan terms do not identify seat or usage quotas beyond the unlimited counselling sessions. Institution application fees may still arise as with some competing platforms, so students should distinguish platform access from costs charged by institutions.

Platforms

Edvoy is available on Android and the web. Its portal and app support document uploads, applications and status tracking, which suits students who want mobile access as well as a browser-based workflow. Students who require an iOS app should consider a platform with iOS support.

Who it's for

Edvoy is a good fit for students comparing international programs who want course matching, application management and ongoing counselling in one service. Its accommodation and visa, loan and IELTS guidance also suit applicants who need help beyond choosing a course. Students who want a guaranteed admission outcome, or who only need a basic search tool and plan to manage all other steps independently, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Search across more than 75,000 courses and partnerships with more than 750 universities give students broad scope for comparison.
Pro: Unlimited free one-to-one counselling lowers the barrier to getting repeated guidance during a long application process.
Pro: Document uploads, applications and status tracking keep key application tasks within the Edvoy portal and app.
Con: Genie’s prospect categories are guidance rather than admissions outcomes, and universities decide whether to accept applicants.
Con: Android and web support leave out iOS users seeking a dedicated app.
Con: Express Offers cover only select UK universities and remain offers in principle.

Alternatives

Choose ApplyBoard if you want a free student account with Android, iOS and web access; institution application fees may still apply. Admission Bravo is another free web option, with university fees paid directly to the university.

Leverage Edu is another free option with Android, iOS and web support. Admission.ly may suit web users wanting no platform fee to search, compare or submit an application where a route is available, though institution application, tuition, enrolment or service fees may still apply. GradRight is a free student option with Android, iOS and web access and no student fee stated.

Yocket is worth considering if you need iOS support and a paid package: Yocket Pro is 59999.00 INR per once and includes applications to up to 10 universities, two countries, one course, basic benefits, GRE prep and finance. Mastersportal is a web-based alternative for free searching and comparing of Master’s programmes, universities, scholarships, tuition fees and study destinations. Browse more options in Study Abroad Platforms.

Verdict

Choose Edvoy if you want free, repeatable counselling alongside international course search and practical application tools. Its main advantage is bringing those steps together with wider student-service guidance; look elsewhere if you need iOS support or expect a prospect category or Express Offer to secure admission.
