Overview

The curriculum covers 92 lessons across six levels, from foundational skills through advanced patterns and roots. Lessons use a five-step sequence with controlled, decodable text, giving learners a planned progression rather than a set of unrelated drills. Phonics, spelling, and decoding practice are captured as mastery data, with dashboards, reports, and IEP-compatible exports for reviewing performance.

EduFlip says it has no peer-reviewed efficacy studies or longitudinal outcome data. That makes it harder for a school or clinic to judge its effect on learning outcomes, even if the reporting tools support progress monitoring.

Key features

Progress and school reporting

Individual plans include a parent dashboard, progress reports, and IEP-compatible exports. Professional tiers add administrative dashboards and, depending on student band, MTSS exports or cross-campus reporting. Those tools make EduFlip more compelling for practitioners and education organizations that need to coordinate or document instruction than for learners seeking only casual practice.

Offline access, privacy, and integrations

The learning experience runs in a modern browser on any device, works offline, and syncs when connectivity returns. That can help learners continue practice where internet access is unreliable. EduFlip describes role-based access, logged administrative access, TLS encryption in transit, AES-256-CBC encryption for sensitive database fields at rest, and separate databases for district data. It says it does not sell, rent, or monetize student or user data and describes its practices as FERPA- and COPPA-compliant.

Third-party integrations may include student information systems, IEP management platforms, or single sign-on providers. HIPAA-compliant hosting is a paid add-on for qualifying organizations, with dedicated infrastructure and a BAA; clinics are directed to contact EduFlip about options. These provisions may suit institutional requirements, but the HIPAA add-on adds a substantial recurring cost.

Pricing

The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and provides Level 1 forever, one student profile, and self-paced practice. It is a way to try the program at no charge, but access to the rest of the six-level curriculum requires a paid plan. A 30-day trial is also offered.

The Monthly plan costs 14.99 USD per month, billed $14.99 /mo, while Annual costs 149.00 USD per year, billed $149 /yr. Both cover Levels 1–6 for one student profile and include a parent dashboard, progress reports, and IEP-compatible exports. Annual is the lower-cost choice for a year of use; Monthly costs more over twelve months but avoids an annual billing commitment. Families with multiple learners can choose the Family Plan at 249.00 USD per year, billed $249 /yr, for up to five children, a full curriculum per student, a shared parent dashboard, and all export features.

Professional plans use graduated student-band pricing and add school-oriented dashboards and reporting. The 1–30 student tier is 22.00 USD per year, billed Annual, with a 15-student minimum ($330/year); it includes a practitioner dashboard, differentiated groups, IEP/ARD exports, offline access (PWA), and a 15-student minimum. The 31–150 tier is 19.00 USD per year, billed Annual, with a school admin dashboard, MTSS exports, unlimited staff accounts, and offline access (PWA). The 151–500 tier is 16.00 USD per year, billed Annual, and adds school and district dashboards, cross-campus reporting, MTSS exports, and offline access (PWA). For 501+ students, the 13.00 USD per year tier, billed Annual, includes school and district dashboards, cross-campus reporting, dedicated support, invoice/PO billing, and offline access (PWA). The 501+ tier is the lowest listed per-year rate, while dedicated support and invoice/PO billing are specific advantages for larger organizations.

The HIPAA compliance add-on costs 350.00 USD per month, billed $350/mo, for qualifying organizations; contact EduFlip for details. Clinics should weigh that recurring fee alongside their hosting needs.

Platforms

EduFlip is web-based and runs in a modern browser on any device. Offline use is supported, with syncing when connectivity returns; Professional plans specify offline access (PWA).

Who it's for

EduFlip is presented for schools and districts, therapists and clinics, families and homeschools, and teachers, and its stated learner age range is all ages. Families choosing a single-student plan get one profile, while the Family Plan supports up to five children. Schools and practitioners are the better fit for the dashboard, export, and reporting features. Organizations that require demonstrated efficacy evidence should treat the absence of peer-reviewed studies and longitudinal data as a significant concern.

Pros and cons

Pro: Six curriculum levels and a five-step lesson structure provide a clear progression through controlled, decodable reading practice.
Pro: Mastery data, reports, and IEP-compatible exports give families and practitioners ways to review progress; professional tiers add school-oriented reporting.
Pro: Offline use with later syncing can support continued practice when a learner lacks reliable connectivity.
Con: The free plan is limited to Level 1 and one student profile, so it does not provide the full curriculum.
Con: EduFlip has no peer-reviewed efficacy studies or longitudinal outcome data, leaving outcome-focused adopters without that evidence.
Con: The 1–30 student Professional plan requires a 15-student minimum, and qualifying organizations pay an additional 350.00 USD per month for HIPAA-compliant hosting.

Verdict

EduFlip is best for families, educators, and education organizations that want a sequenced literacy program with progress records, IEP-compatible exports, and offline access. Its mix of individual and professional plans can serve both home practice and school reporting. Look elsewhere if peer-reviewed or longitudinal outcome evidence is essential to your decision, or if you need more than one learner on an individual plan without moving to the Family Plan.
