Overview

SurveyToGo is a market-research platform for building questionnaires and managing interviews across personal, web and telephone research. It is best suited to agencies that need controlled fieldwork across interviewers and locations. Its strongest case is the combination of offline collection and centralized quality controls; its interview-based plan structure calls for a closer look from teams estimating project costs.

Key features

Survey design and fieldwork

The designer supports branching, skips, filters, loops, piping, scripts and randomized rotations, giving research teams room to build questionnaires that adapt to responses. It supports CAPI, CAWI and CATI surveys, with online and offline fieldwork. Offline responses are stored locally and uploaded automatically when the connection returns, a practical safeguard for interviewers working without reliable connectivity.

Surveys can show images, sounds and videos, and interviewers can attach photos, video or sound to responses. That is useful when a study needs more than a respondent’s typed or spoken answers, though it also makes attachment and project oversight part of the workflow.

Oversight, quotas and data

GPS tracking, silent voice recording, suspicious-interview flags and a console for accepting or rejecting interviews give supervisors several ways to review fieldwork quality. These controls can be valuable for distributed teams, but may be more machinery than a simple online questionnaire needs.

Global and interviewer-level quotas sit alongside centralized management of quotas, interview history, attachments, locations and permissions. SurveyToGo Insights and data connectors are included at no additional cost, with visualization integrations for Power BI and Google Looker. A command-line utility supports automated exports, and customers may access account data through an API.

Dooblo’s information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022 for SaaS data collection and questionnaire management. The pricing page describes biometric server locks, 24-hour surveillance, security patching and an enterprise-class firewall. The privacy policy says SurveyToGo intends to comply with, or be compatible with, applicable data protection laws, including GDPR where applicable in the EU and EEA.

Pricing

SurveyToGo has a free start with 50 interviews preloaded. Test-mode interviews do not use production credits, but only 10 test interviews per survey are retained at a time. That makes it possible to explore the service before committing production interviews, but the free allocation is limited for live projects.

Paid interview plans are offered at 100, 500, 1,000, 2,000, 6,000, 12,000, 20,000, 30,000 and 60,000 interviews. Each includes unlimited users, devices, surveys and questions. Pricing is custom, so teams should confirm costs against their expected interview volume. Unlimited seats, devices and questionnaires are useful for larger teams; the interview allotment remains the central constraint. On-premise availability also requires a sales discussion.

Platforms

SurveyToGo supports Android, iOS, web and Windows, as well as API access and self-hosted deployment. The breadth fits projects that combine field devices with centralized project management. Organizations choosing on-premise deployment should discuss setup with sales.

Who it's for

SurveyToGo suits small and large research agencies, from a smaller audit or project to global market research operations. Its interviewer-level quotas, fieldwork monitoring and offline collection are most compelling when a project involves teams in the field. A lightweight survey need may not justify that operational depth.

Pros and cons

Pros

Offline collection with automatic later upload keeps interviews moving when connectivity drops.
GPS, silent recording, interview flags and accept-or-reject review provide concrete oversight for field research.
Unlimited users, devices, surveys and questions across the interview plans avoid seat and questionnaire caps.
Insights, data connectors and Power BI and Google Looker visualization integrations are included at no extra cost.

Cons

The free start covers 50 interviews, which limits its usefulness for larger live studies.
Interview plans use custom pricing, so buyers must establish cost for their expected volume before comparing budgets.
On-premise deployment requires a sales discussion rather than a self-serve setup path.
The fieldwork controls and project-management scope may be unnecessary for teams running only simple online surveys.

Alternatives

Market Research Software and Survey Software are useful starting points for comparing category options.

Choose Appinio if its study-based Team or Starter offerings better fit a research program organized around multi-country, tracking and ad-hoc studies.

SurveyMonkey is an alternative for simple surveys, forms and quizzes, with a free Basic plan limited to 10 questions per survey and a limited number of responses.

Conjointly is worth considering for conjoint work: its Basic plan supports unlimited surveys and questions, with 20 responses for advanced methods, while Professional is 2895.00 USD per year.

DataLion offers a free forever plan with one user, one project and 100 cases, making it a possible fit for a tightly scoped starting project.

LimeSurvey is another freemium option; its Free plan allows 25 responses per month and one admin user.

Qualtrics offers an individual free plan with one user, three active surveys and 500 total responses, an option for an individual whose response allowance is the priority.

SoSci Survey may suit research that needs a free allowance of 5,000 respondents; its Unlimited Testing plan also permits testing for as long as desired.

Conjoint Survey has a free conjoint pilot for one researcher and up to 20 completed responses, but excludes full exports, coauthor viewing, redirects and archive bundles.

Verdict

Choose SurveyToGo for agency research that depends on offline interviews, quota control and active supervision across field teams. The 50-interview free start and unlimited users across interview plans make it practical to explore and scale the workflow, but custom pricing and the interview caps make it less suited to buyers who need predictable, low-cost survey volume or only basic online forms.
