Overview

PAR Ordering combines restaurant ordering across guest channels with tools for managing marketplace updates and catering workflows. It is aimed most clearly at large chains and hospitality operators with varied service formats. Its breadth is a strong fit for complex operations, though custom pricing and a demo-led buying process make it harder to evaluate before contacting PAR.

Key features

Menu synchronization across web, mobile, kiosks, catering, and third-party platforms can reduce the burden of keeping channel menus aligned. Marketplace management also brings third-party menu, pricing, and order updates into a shared workflow. PAR describes an open partner ecosystem, but the named Ordering offering does not identify particular third-party connections, so operators should confirm that their existing systems are supported.

Restaurants can tailor the ordering experience to their own branding and use preordering, upselling, secret menus, cart incentives, reminders, and special offers. These tools give operators several ways to shape the purchase journey, but their usefulness depends on whether the business can maintain relevant menus and promotions across channels.

PAR Catering combines quoting, preparation, payments, and delivery for high-volume orders. That makes it a more natural fit for operators handling substantial catering work than for businesses that only need a basic pickup or delivery storefront. The broader operational feature set includes delivery orders, status tracking, POS integration, table management, kitchen display, employee permissions, availability management, labor coverage tracking, auto-scheduling, and offline mode.

PAR’s Trust Center lists compliance areas including GDPR, PCI DSS, PCI SSF, SOC 2, and CCPA. Customer care is available at 1-800-382-6200 and customer_care@partech.com.

Pricing

PAR Ordering is paid, with custom pricing; the product page directs prospective customers to schedule a demo rather than publishing a rate. That may suit chains seeking a tailored commercial discussion, but buyers cannot compare a per-location or per-seat cost in advance. Ask PAR to clarify the price structure and any usage or contract limits before committing.

Platforms

The ordering experience supports Android, iOS, and web, with a branded mobile app and website ordering channels. Deployment is cloud-based, and offline mode is supported. These options serve guests using mobile devices as well as web ordering, while the dedicated display-platform designation and menu synchronization across kiosks, catering, and third-party platforms point to a multi-channel operation rather than a single storefront.

Who it's for

PAR positions the product for large restaurant chains and serves QSR, fast-casual, table-service, hospitality, cinema, theme-park, and casino businesses. It is most compelling for operators that need a branded guest ordering experience alongside centralized marketplace management and high-volume catering workflows. A smaller operator looking for a simple, transparently priced online-ordering tool may find its scale and demo-first sales process a poor match.

Pros and cons

Pros: Menu sync across multiple guest and marketplace channels can help large operators keep offerings consistent.
Pros: Branded ordering, conversion tools, and catering workflows cover more than basic order capture.
Pros: The operational feature set includes POS integration, kitchen display, table management, and labor-related tools.
Cons: Custom pricing requires a demo conversation before buyers can judge affordability.
Cons: Specific third-party integrations are not identified, leaving operators to verify compatibility directly.

Alternatives

Verdict

PAR Ordering is best for large, multi-format restaurant and hospitality groups that want branded ordering, marketplace coordination, and catering in a single operational picture. Its channel breadth and supporting workflows are the main reasons to choose it; custom pricing and the need to verify named integrations are good reasons to look elsewhere if you need a quick, clearly priced purchase.
