Overview

Conga brings contract creation, review, approvals, repository management, and renewal into one workflow. A searchable repository and obligation reporting can help teams keep agreements and follow-up work visible after signature, rather than treating signing as the finish line.

Its scope also extends to quote templates, configuration rules, discount approvals, and bulk document generation. That makes it relevant to organizations connecting contract operations with commercial processes, though buyers should confirm which capabilities and limits apply to their edition.

Key features

Creation and negotiation

Legal-approved templates, a clause library, guided requests, and conditional clauses give teams a structured way to produce agreements. Real-time collaboration and change tracking support negotiation, while AI can assess third-party paper for risks and deviations from standard clauses. These tools suit teams with established standards; they are less useful if the priority is simply sending occasional documents for signature.

Approvals, signing, and oversight

Configurable approval flows, delegation, approval groups, and audit trails support layered review. Electronic signatures work through Conga Sign or third-party signing solutions. AI features for extracting data, summarizing contracts, and answering contract questions complement dashboards and alerts for compliance and workflow metrics.

Integrations and security

Conga says CLM can work with Office, Dynamics, and Salesforce, and connect with CRM, ERP, and procure-to-pay systems. It states that the service is SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701 certified, with encryption at rest and in transit. Conga also says customer data is not used to train shared or global AI models, and that retention, residency, and deletion rights are included.

Pricing

Conga CLM is paid, with custom pricing. There is no free plan. Prospective buyers need to request a quote, so costs cannot be compared from a published price alone.

Business and Enterprise editions are offered for CLM for Web and CLM for Salesforce. Business allows up to 10 created templates; Enterprise has unlimited template creation. That cap could constrain a team with many agreement types, making Enterprise worth evaluating if templates are central to its workflow. Confirm edition-specific scope and terms before choosing.

Platforms

The product is cloud-deployed and supports web, macOS, Windows, and API access. Conga's June 2026 requirements matrix names Windows 11 and macOS Sonoma for the Advantage Platform CLM environment, with Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari among supported browsers.

Who it's for

Conga CLM is a strong fit for organizations that need coordinated contract work across legal, sales, or procurement, particularly where approvals, negotiation, repository search, and post-signature obligations all matter. Its integrations and bulk-generation capabilities may also suit teams linking agreements to commercial systems. A smaller team with straightforward signing needs may find this broader, custom-priced platform more than it needs.

Pros and cons

Broad contract coverage: The workflow spans requests, drafting, negotiation, signatures, storage, reporting, and renewal.
Structured review: Template and clause controls, configurable approvals, change tracking, and audit trails support governed processes.
Enterprise-oriented connections: CRM, ERP, procure-to-pay, and named Office, Dynamics, and Salesforce integrations can connect contract work to surrounding systems.
Edition-sensitive template limit: Business is capped at 10 created templates, while Enterprise is unlimited.
Pricing requires a sales conversation: With no free plan and no published numeric price, buyers cannot assess cost from a rate card.

Alternatives

For document-focused alternatives, compare Contractbook, which has a free plan and trial; its Essential plan includes one user, 100 signed contracts per year, and five templates, while Centralize is 399.00 USD per month billed annually for five users. OpenAgree also has a free plan and trial, with its first two contracts or agreements free and no subscription or credit card required; it may suit buyers who want to start with a small commitment.

DocuSign eSignature offers a free plan and trial for sending, signing, and managing agreements, making it an option when e-signature is the main need rather than a full CLM workflow. SpotDraft is a paid alternative with pricing based on users or contract volume, in-house implementation, dedicated customer success, and 24/7 support. Canveo is another paid, web-based option.

Docusign CLM is a paid CLM alternative with custom pricing. Ironclad offers paid contract lifecycle management, AI assistant, or eSignature products, with pricing not stated. ContractWorks may suit teams prioritizing document management and signing: its Standard plan is 600.00 USD per month billed annually and includes unlimited users, 2,500 documents, and five electronic signature licenses; it also offers a free trial.

Browse Contract Negotiation Software, Legal Contract Management Software, or Contract Lifecycle Management Software for category comparisons. Teams focused on commercial quoting can also compare Configure Price Quote Software, CPQ Software, and Quote Management Software.

Verdict

Choose Conga CLM if your organization needs a connected, governed process spanning contract creation through renewal, with reporting and enterprise-system integrations. Its main strengths are breadth and controls; its main cautions are custom pricing and the Business edition's 10-template ceiling. Teams with simpler signing needs or a strict requirement for upfront pricing should look elsewhere.
