Overview

Threekit brings product rules, guided selling, visual configuration, and quote generation into a headless platform designed to connect with ecommerce and other channels. Product selections are checked for component compatibility in real time, which can help sales teams, retailers, distributors, and service representatives present valid options rather than pass incompatible choices downstream.

Customers retain their own systems as the source of record, while Threekit supplies platform access for self-service and scale. Its hybrid deployment and integrations with ERP, order-entry, B2B commerce, and CPQ systems suit organizations fitting configuration into an existing technology stack. That breadth is a strength for complex operations, but buyers seeking a standalone, low-cost tool may find the custom engagement a poor match.

Key features

Multiformat visualization: Configure products in 3D, create photorealistic 2D visuals, and use augmented reality. This gives commerce and sales teams several ways to show configurable products, rather than relying on a single visual format.
Product rules and guided selling: Real-time compatibility checks validate selections as customers or sales representatives configure products. That is useful when product options depend on one another and invalid combinations could disrupt a sale or order.
Quote generation: Configuration can lead into quote generation, making the platform relevant to businesses that need more than product imagery. Salesforce CPQ and other business-system integrations can help connect that work to existing processes.
Headless architecture and integrations: Listed commerce connections include Salesforce, Shopify, SAP Commerce Cloud, commercetools, Magento, BigCommerce, and Oracle. Threekit also integrates with Salesforce CPQ, Infor, Configure One, ERP, order-entry, and B2B commerce systems. The range favors businesses connecting multiple channels and systems; it also makes the product less suited to buyers who want a simple standalone configurator.
Security controls: Threekit is ISO 27001 certified and describes data boundaries, governance, no cross-customer sharing, and no third-party AI training. These controls may matter to organizations evaluating enterprise deployment.

Pricing

Threekit uses paid, custom pricing, with costs depending on use case, product count, visualization brand, timeline, and budget. There is no free plan; a 90-day pilot is offered as a next step. That pilot gives buyers a defined route to assess a project, but it is not a substitute for confirming the eventual commercial terms.

Plan	Includes	Best suited to
Custom	3D product configuration, 2D virtual photography, augmented reality, hosting and visualization in the Threekit player, digital asset management, and ecommerce and technology-stack integration.	Businesses that need a broad configuration and visualization setup connected to their commerce stack.
Custom quote	Pricing varies by use case, configured products, visualization brand, timeline, and budget.	Organizations whose scope needs to be priced around their particular requirements.

Neither plan has a published price, and no refund policy is stated. Buyers should confirm scope and pricing for their expected product range and integrations before committing.

Platforms

Threekit is available on the web. Its headless architecture is intended for omnichannel and ecommerce platforms, with a hybrid deployment model. Customers that need a native mobile app should consider that its stated platform is web.

Who it's for

Threekit is a strong fit for manufacturers and sellers managing configurable product catalogs across ecommerce, sales, and service channels. It is particularly relevant when product compatibility, visual presentation, and quote generation need to work alongside established enterprise systems. Its enterprise heritage includes a team that built BigMachines, Steelbrick, and PROS, and reports more than 1,000 enterprise projects, 150+ manufacturers live today, over 25 years of enterprise CPQ experience, and $65M raised.

Smaller businesses with a limited catalog or buyers wanting transparent self-serve pricing may be better served by a product with a published free or entry-level plan. Threekit’s custom pricing and broad integration focus make most sense when the complexity of the sales process justifies a tailored platform.

Pros and cons

Pros: 3D, photorealistic 2D, and AR visuals cover multiple product presentation needs.
Pros: Real-time compatibility checks help prevent invalid configurations.
Pros: Quote generation and integrations with commerce, CPQ, ERP, and order-entry systems support established sales workflows.
Pros: ISO 27001 certification and stated data boundaries address enterprise security concerns.
Cons: Custom pricing means buyers cannot compare a published subscription price before discussing their use case.
Cons: There is no free plan, so smaller teams cannot rely on a permanent no-cost tier.
Cons: The web platform and enterprise integration emphasis may be excessive for buyers seeking a lightweight mobile or standalone tool.

Alternatives

For buyers comparing categories, browse Product Visualization Software, 3D Product Configurator Software, Product Configurator Software, or Quote Management Software.

Spheri is worth considering if a freemium option and a free-forever Starter plan are priorities; its Starter tier is limited to one product, has no live configurator, and includes a watermark.
3DBAE offers a free-forever Hobby plan and support for Android, iOS, web, and Windows, making it an alternative for buyers prioritizing a free tier and broader platform coverage.
3D Product Config may suit buyers seeking a published entry price: its Starter plan is 29.00 USD per month and includes 20 configurators, a 3D viewer and configurator, and conditional logic.
Expivi is another paid, web-based option for buyers comparing product configuration platforms.
Zolak is an option for buyers looking for a published monthly platform fee; its Platform Fee plan is 25.00 USD per month and includes CMS access, cloud infrastructure, and 3D asset management.
Mazing may be relevant to buyers seeking a paid platform with a free trial and support for mobile, web, and API use.
Sayduck offers paid subscription plans billed monthly or annually, for buyers comparing subscription-based terms.
Cylindo is another paid option with quote-based plans tailored to business needs, catalog size, and sales channels.

Verdict

Choose Threekit if you sell configurable products and need validated product rules, rich visual formats, quote generation, and connections to an existing commerce or enterprise stack. Its strongest case is bringing those functions together while leaving customer systems as the source of record. Look elsewhere if you need a free tier, a published price, or a mobile-native platform; Threekit’s custom, enterprise-oriented approach is best justified by a correspondingly complex sales operation.
