Overview

CloudTalk AI Voice Agent is an automated calling service for small and mid-sized sales and support teams that want routine calls handled without losing the option of human follow-up. Its split between a receptionist for inbound calls and a specialist for more involved workflows is useful, but the included minutes make plan choice—and call volume—central to the decision.

Key features

Reception and routing

AI Receptionist provides round-the-clock inbound coverage, answering common questions, routing callers conversationally, collecting contact details, taking messages, and blocking spam and robocalls. Its support for more than 70 languages and accents makes it the more suitable option for teams fielding varied inbound calls. The 50-minute plan is a small allowance for a live phone line, so teams should weigh their expected traffic before relying on it as their main receptionist.

Specialist workflows

AI Specialist is aimed at calls that need more than triage: it adds identity authentication, real-time workflows, and multi-step issue resolution, along with payment and invoice handling. Calendar synchronization and automated rescheduling suit appointment-based operations, while live and post-call analytics give teams more ways to monitor those interactions. Outbound calling is included, but the 1,000-minute allowance still puts a defined ceiling on usage.

Integrations and security

CloudTalk connects with CRM and support tools including Salesforce, Zendesk, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM, Gong, Freshdesk, Help Scout, and Intercom. REST API access, webhooks, workflow automation, Zapier, and Make provide routes to custom or in-house CRMs; API access starts with Essential and above. CloudTalk states that it is SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO/IEC 27001 compliant and supports GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. It also cites end-to-end call encryption, secure call recording, 256-bit encryption, and TLS/SSL for API and application endpoints. These commitments will matter to teams with compliance requirements, though they do not replace checking whether a particular deployment meets those requirements.

Pricing

AI Receptionist has a 50-minute included allowance and inbound calling; its price is custom pricing. A separate US-priced AI Receptionist option is 99.00 USD per month for 200 inbound minutes. That higher allowance may suit a team with more routine calls, but the monthly price buys a finite pool rather than unlimited coverage.

AI Specialist costs 349.00 USD per month and includes 1,000 minutes, multi-step workflows, and outbound calls. The US-priced version is also 349.00 USD per month, with 1,000 minutes, outbound calls, and end-to-end workflows. It fits teams that need specialist tasks automated, but is a substantial step up from the Receptionist entry point and its allowance should be compared with projected calling volume. Custom volume packages are priced at 0.15 EUR per month per minute above 10,000 minutes.

CloudTalk offers a 14-day trial and a free plan. The free plan's calling limits and terms are not established, so it should not be treated as a substitute for choosing a paid allowance. 24/7 chat and email support is included in all plans.

Platforms

CloudTalk Phone works in a browser and on desktop apps for Mac, Windows 10 and 11, and Linux. CloudTalk Go has iOS and Android apps for calls, messages, contacts, and call history. The service also lists API access, which is available on Essential and above.

Who it's for

CloudTalk is a strong fit for sales and support teams that want round-the-clock inbound handling, a clear path to human handoff, and CRM-connected workflows. Receptionist suits FAQ answering and call routing; Specialist is better for teams handling identity checks, payments, invoices, or appointment changes. It is less compelling for organizations whose call volume is likely to exceed the included minutes or that need a simple, low-cost phone line rather than an AI workflow.

Pros and cons

Pros: Separate receptionist and specialist tiers let teams match automation to call complexity.
Pros: Inbound and outbound calling, plus human handoff, support both automated handling and agent escalation.
Pros: Broad CRM connectivity, API access, and workflow integrations offer ways to connect existing systems.
Pros: 24/7 chat and email support is included across plans.
Cons: The Receptionist allowance starts at 50 minutes, while the US-priced option costs 99.00 USD per month for 200 minutes.
Cons: Specialist costs 349.00 USD per month for 1,000 minutes, so teams with high call volume need to account for the quota and custom-volume pricing.
Cons: API access is not included below Essential.

Genesys Workforce Engagement Management is a paid workforce engagement option for readers comparing that category.
OSDial is a free option with Linux, API, web, and self-hosted platforms.

Verdict

Choose CloudTalk AI Voice Agent if your sales or support team needs both routine inbound reception and more involved automated workflows, with CRM connections and human handoff. Its strongest case is the range from FAQ handling to multi-step specialist tasks; its main drawback is the cost and finite minute allowance, which make it a poor fit for teams that need high-volume calling at a predictable low price.
