Overview

CleverWaiver is a digital liability waiver service for businesses that need to create, collect, and keep signed forms. It suits operators collecting waivers across in-person and online channels, especially those who need offline mobile collection or higher monthly volumes.

Its range of signing routes and searchable exports make it a capable choice as waiver operations grow. The trade-off is a strict free-plan cap and paid tiers whose waiver quotas and template counts require close attention.

Key features

Businesses can build a waiver with CleverWaiver’s online tool or send an existing form for creation at no additional cost. That second route may save setup effort for operators who already have approved wording, while the template allowance on each plan can constrain businesses managing multiple activities.

Customers can sign through online links, kiosk apps, computer browsers, embedded forms, or QR codes. This flexibility suits businesses serving customers at a counter as well as those collecting signatures before arrival. The mobile app also collects waivers offline and uploads them after connectivity returns, a practical advantage for venues or activities with unreliable internet.

Search by name, phone number, or signed date helps staff retrieve records, and exports can be made as CSV data or individual PDF waivers. Integrations include Lodgify, HubSpot, Zapier, Mindbody, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Dropbox, Google Drive, Stripe, OneDrive, Lightspeed, and Square. The privacy policy says waiver data is encrypted with 256-bit encryption, backed up every two hours, and not sold or shared with third parties.

The service supports guardian signing, kiosk mode, and data export. Its stated support is available 24/7 by email or phone.

Pricing

The free plan can be used indefinitely, but only for fewer than 20 waivers per month. It is a sensible starting point for very low-volume use, not a comfortable fit for a business whose monthly traffic may cross that threshold. Paid plans have a 15-day trial.

BASIC: $9.99 per month for 70 waivers, one waiver template, and 20 cents per extra waiver. It is the lowest-cost paid option, but the single-template limit and small quota make it best for a simple, low-volume operation.
STARTER: $29.99 per month for 500 waivers, three templates, and 20 cents per extra waiver. This offers more room for regular use, though businesses with several distinct waiver types may still find the template cap restrictive.
STANDARD: $49.99 per month for 1,000 waivers, unlimited templates, and 20 cents per extra waiver. It is the first tier that removes the template ceiling, making it a better fit for varied activities.
PROFESSIONAL: $123.99 per month for 2,500 waivers, unlimited templates, and 20 cents per extra waiver. It suits higher-volume operations that need the larger allowance.
PREMIER: $223.99 per month for 6,000 waivers, unlimited templates, and 20 cents per extra waiver. This is aimed at substantial monthly traffic; overages remain chargeable.
Enterprise: $499.99 per month for 20,000 waivers, unlimited templates, and priority support. It is the defined high-volume tier for businesses that value priority support.
Customized Plan: custom pricing per month after the free trial, for 20,000+ waivers per month, unlimited templates, and priority support. This is for volumes above the Enterprise allowance.

All listed paid prices are billed per month. The 20-cents-per-extra-waiver charge applies to BASIC through PREMIER, so buyers near a plan’s quota should account for overages rather than choosing solely by the base price.

Platforms

CleverWaiver supports Android, iOS, and web. Mobile offline collection is particularly useful where internet access is intermittent; browser and embedded-form options cover customers signing from a computer or a business website.

Who it's for

The service is presented for tourism, retail, rentals, events, nonprofits, entertainment, tattoo and body piercing, sports, beauty, and fitness businesses. Its multiple collection channels fit operators with a mix of walk-in and advance signers. Very small operations can begin on the free plan, while businesses with several waiver types or sustained volume should compare the template and quota limits against their needs.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple signing routes, including kiosk, QR code, and embedded forms, accommodate different customer journeys.
Pros: Offline mobile collection can keep waiver intake moving without a live connection.
Pros: Searchable records and CSV or PDF exports support retrieval and record handling.
Pros: Existing waivers can be sent for creation at no additional cost, and the free plan has no stated time limit.
Cons: The free plan permits fewer than 20 waivers per month, which sharply limits its usefulness once activity grows.
Cons: The least expensive paid tiers restrict templates to one or three, and charge 20 cents for each waiver beyond quota.

Alternatives

Survtapp is worth comparing if its free allowance of three users, 100 responses per month, and two kiosk devices better matches a small team’s needs.
WaiverDrop offers a free Starter plan with 10 waivers per month, unlimited templates, document packets, kiosk and touchless modes, and webhooks; consider it if those features matter more than CleverWaiver’s larger free quota.
WaiverForever offers 20 free submissions per month and a free signup with no credit card.
Wherewolf is another freemium option for waiver collection.
ClickWaiver may suit teams wanting unlimited waivers and templates, three users, one location, and API and webhook access in its $29.00 per month Pro plan.
WaiverKit is a web-only alternative with a free plan capped at 30 signed waivers per month and one template.
OnlineWaiverPro is another freemium option on web, iOS, and Android.
WaiverElectronic is a paid alternative with a trial and Android, API, iOS, and web support.

Verdict

CleverWaiver is a strong fit for businesses that need flexible in-person and online signing, offline mobile collection, and searchable exports in one service. Its main advantage is the breadth of collection and record-handling options; its main reason to look elsewhere is the tight free cap, template restrictions on cheaper paid tiers, and per-waiver overage charge. Choose a plan only after matching both template needs and expected monthly volume to its limits.
