Overview

Stepsi is a dance-studio management platform for organizing classes, bookings, attendance and payments. It is best suited to dance schools that want those operations and member bookings in one system. Its free tier offers a low-cost starting point, but the 25-active-member cap and limits on the displayed plans make plan sizing important.

Key features

Classes and studio operations

Studios can schedule one-time and recurring classes across multiple calendars, manage rooms and instructors, track attendance, and handle bookings and waitlists through a member portal. That breadth is useful for schools coordinating a busy timetable and giving members or parents a way to book; it reduces the need to handle these core tasks in separate systems.

Plan caps count active members, defined as people who purchased a membership, tuition, or class entrance within the last 30 days. A studio should compare its recent purchasers with the cap rather than rely only on its full roster when choosing a tier.

Payments and privacy

Stepsi supports one-time and recurring payments for memberships, tuition, bookings, shop purchases, and video content. Members can pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay, and payment processing complies with PCI requirements. This covers several studio revenue streams, though branded mobile apps and unlimited members are unavailable on the displayed plans.

Stepsi says it does not sell, trade, or rent collected information; data is hosted by providers in the United States. Service data exchanges use an SSL-secured channel, and passwords are encrypted and hashed with individual salts rather than stored in the database. Studios can optionally connect Google or Microsoft email accounts to send messages through a connected mailbox. Setup support is available through the app's Help section or by email at ask@stepsi.dance.

Pricing

Stepsi is freemium, with no free trial. Paid plans are billed monthly but paid annually, so the displayed monthly rates require an annual commitment. The Free plan supports up to 25 active members, making it suitable for a small studio or a cautious start; its cap can become restrictive as recent purchasing activity grows.

Plan	Price	Active-member limit
Free	Free	Up to 25
Plus	€30/mo (annual)	Up to 100
Grow	€60/mo (annual)	Up to 250
Pro	€130/mo (annual)	Up to 600
Max	€260/mo (annual)	Up to 1,500
Custom	Custom pricing	Unlimited

Each plan includes access to the listed application features, so the published tiers chiefly distinguish capacity. Plus is the first paid step for studios exceeding the free cap; Grow, Pro, and Max raise the ceiling for progressively larger active-member bases. Custom is the route for studios needing unlimited members, with an offer from Stepsi. The listed plans do not include branded mobile apps, so studios that require their own branded apps should look elsewhere.

Platforms

Stepsi runs on Android, iOS, and the web. Scheduling and bookings are supported across web and mobile, giving members and staff more than a desktop-only route to studio tasks.

Who it's for

Stepsi is aimed at children's schools, adult recreational studios, competition and recital schools, and pre-professional or classical schools. Its scheduling, room and instructor management, attendance tracking, waitlists, member portal, and varied payment options suit organizations that want administrative and member-facing tasks together. It is less suitable for studios that need branded mobile apps on a displayed plan or cannot work within active-member caps.

Pros and cons

Pros: One-time and recurring class scheduling, multiple calendars, waitlists, room and instructor management, attendance, and member bookings cover core studio operations.
Pros: One-time and recurring payments span memberships, tuition, bookings, shop purchases, and video content, with Apple Pay and Google Pay supported.
Pros: A free plan accommodates up to 25 active members, with paid tiers scaling to 1,500 and a custom unlimited option.
Cons: Active-member caps are based on purchases in the last 30 days, so recent enrollment activity—not just roster size—determines whether a tier fits.
Cons: Paid rates are billed monthly but paid annually, and the displayed plans do not include branded mobile apps or unlimited members.

Kananas is worth considering if a contact-based allowance is a better fit: its free plan allows up to 50 contacts, and paid plans start at 99.00 USD per year, billed $99/year, starting at 250 contacts. It also offers a free trial.

Class Manager is a free option for studios that prefer no monthly subscription and can accept a flat service charge for online payments; tailored pricing is available for high volumes.

StudioPartner has a free tier with 30 students, four membership plans, 90 days of attendance history, current-month reports, and one open gig listing. That defined student allowance and reporting window may suit studios whose needs fit within those bounds.

DanceBiz is a paid alternative with a free trial and a monthly rolling Biz50 plan at 24.95 USD per month for up to 50 active customers; consider it if that customer cap and rolling billing suit better than Stepsi's annual commitment.

ClassJuggler may suit studios considering a paid alternative with a free trial; its Customer Portal add-on is 10.00 USD per month for online customer self-service.

OttoDance is another freemium option.

The Studio Director is a paid alternative with a free trial.

DanceTide is a freemium option available on the web.

Verdict

Stepsi is a strong fit for dance schools that want scheduling, studio operations, member bookings, and varied payment collection in one platform, particularly when their active-member count fits a free or paid cap. Its free entry point and capacity steps make it practical to start small and scale, but the annual billing commitment, recent-purchaser cap definition, and lack of branded apps on displayed plans are reasons to look elsewhere if those constraints do not suit your studio.
