Overview

BOOTH connects barbershop owners who have chairs or booths to rent with barbers looking for a place to work. Owners can publish vacancies, handle inquiries, collect recurring rent and manage shop information in one service. BOOTH describes its availability as open beta, so users should treat it as a product still in that stage.

The service is freemium, with a free plan for shop owners and paid plans from $25/mo. Its stated headquarters are in Chicago, Illinois. BOOTH is also included in our guide to Salon Booth Rental Software.

Key features

Chair listings and hiring

Shop owners can post open chairs, receive inquiries from barbers and manage the hiring pipeline in BOOTH. The shop dashboard brings together rosters, payments and analytics, with live updates about shop activity.

Rent collection and agreements

BOOTH supports recurring booth rentals through cards on file and automatic payments. Owners can create digital rental contracts for e-signature, and renter communications are part of the listed capabilities. Automated collection can reduce manual payment handling, while the contract tools put rental paperwork alongside shop operations.

BOOTH says it adds a 5% platform fee to the barber’s rent; standard Stripe card-processing fees also apply. Owners should account for both when deciding how to collect rent.

Booking and payment connections

Barber profiles and shop listings can link to booking services including Booksy, Fresha, Squire and The Cut. Shop owner payouts run through Stripe Connect, with instant or standard payout options.

Rewards and security

Barbers earn points on rent paid through BOOTH, which they can redeem for products in the rewards shop. BOOTH says it encrypts data in transit and at rest, uses secure authentication and role-based access controls, and conducts internal security reviews. It says Stripe processes payments and identifies Stripe as PCI DSS Level 1 certified. BOOTH also says it does not keep full card numbers, bank account numbers or Stripe credentials on its servers.

Pricing

The free shop-owner plan costs 0.00 USD per free, with no monthly or setup fee and no credit card required. It includes unlimited shop listings and booth slots. The 5% platform fee added to barber rent and standard Stripe processing fees still apply. Paid plans start at $25/mo. BOOTH lists no free trial.

Platforms

BOOTH is available on Android, iOS and the web. It supports online payment processing, recurring rent collection, rental contracts and e-signing, and renter communications. Multi-location support is not available; unified dashboards and cross-shop analytics for multiple locations are listed as roadmap features.

Who it's for

BOOTH is aimed at barbershop owners who rent chairs or booths and want tools for listings, inquiries, recurring rent and rental agreements, as well as barbers seeking rental space. Its shop dashboard and payment workflow are centered on booth rentals rather than multi-location management: businesses with several locations should note that cross-shop dashboards are not currently listed as available.

For questions, BOOTH points users to its help guides and lists contact@boothapp.co.

Pros and cons

Pros: A free shop-owner plan includes unlimited listings and booth slots; rent collection can be automated; owners can manage inquiries and contracts; booking links and payment payouts connect to named services.
Cons: A 5% platform fee is added to barber rent, with standard Stripe processing fees also applying; multi-location support is not available; the product is in open beta.

Alternatives

For salon appointment scheduling and management, Salonist is one option. Other products to consider include Bookables, RentMerchant, Salon Suite Solutions, Orbis Salon, Meevo, NXRENT and Tilavon.

Verdict

BOOTH brings chair listings, barber inquiries, recurring rent, digital contracts and shop-level operations into a service focused on barbershop rentals. The free plan provides a clear starting point, but it does not remove the stated platform and card-processing fees. Its open-beta status and lack of multi-location support are important considerations for owners evaluating it, particularly those managing more than one shop.
