Payments can be sent using a UPI ID, a UPI-registered mobile number, or an account number and IFSC code. Its privacy policy also describes collection of phone, financial and transaction, device, SIM, IP address and location information; it says contacts are not stored when contact access is granted. A successfully completed payment cannot be reversed unless the beneficiary returns the money, so verifying the recipient before sending is essential.
