Overview

BetterWorld is fundraising software for nonprofits and other community-serving organizations, with campaign tools and donor management in one web platform. It suits groups that want to run different kinds of fundraising without limiting campaigns or teammates; the trade-off is that payment-processing fees apply, and some plans add platform fees as well.

Its breadth is a practical strength: one organization can combine auctions, ticketed events, peer-to-peer campaigns, and standard donations. But groups needing mobile apps or a zero-cost route with no platform fee should weigh the alternatives.

Key features

BetterWorld covers auctions, donation forms, events and ticketing, giveaways and raffles, peer-to-peer fundraising, crowdfunding, paddle raises, impact giving, a-thons, and standard donations. Every plan includes all fundraising tools, unlimited campaigns, and unlimited teammates. That makes plan choice less about restricting campaign volume or staff access and more about fees, support, and added services.

The donor system automatically tracks donations, interactions, and insights together, while campaign reporting is described as advanced. These capabilities make the platform relevant to organizations that want both fundraising and donor records in one place. It supports recurring donations and gifts, and payments by card, digital wallet, and bank transfer, including online and event checkout.

BetterWorld says it offers more than 5,000 integrations. Native connections include Stripe, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Google Pay, HubSpot, Salesforce, DonorPerfect, and Blackbaud; Zapier connections include Mailchimp, Google Sheets, Slack, Constant Contact, VolunteerHub, Eventbrite, and Google Drive. That range can help connect fundraising to payment, CRM, and operational tools, though the platform’s actual fit depends on the services an organization uses.

BetterWorld states that it is PCI-compliant, uses bank-level encryption, and does not sell donor data. It describes live chat, human support, and event-day backup on the platform; paid plans add priority support, with expedited phone, email, and chat.

Pricing

The Free and Flex plans cost 0.00 USD per free, but their fee structures differ. Free has a 0% platform fee; Flex charges a 2.2-5% platform fee. Both still incur standard payment processing fees, so Free is the more economical starting point for organizations that can work without paid-plan extras, while Flex’s platform fee deserves close attention before choosing it.

Partner costs 1550.00 USD per year, billed $129/mo, billed annually. It lowers the platform fee to 1.25% and adds priority support and automatic payouts. It is a more suitable step for organizations that value faster support and automatic payouts enough to justify the annual commitment.

Keystone costs 5950.00 USD per year, billed $495/mo, billed annually. Its 1% platform fee is paired with concierge support for one event, CRM Integration Plus, an annual strategic review, and 10,000 SMS credits. Those services target organizations with more involved CRM and event needs; the higher annual price is difficult to justify if those additions will go unused.

Standard payment processing fees of 1.5%-2.9% + $0.30 apply across plans, separate from platform fees. Donors can choose to cover them, but organizations should account for the possibility that they will bear those costs. All plans include the same fundraising tools, unlimited campaigns, and unlimited teammates, so the cheaper options give up paid support and plan-specific services rather than core campaign access.

Platforms

BetterWorld is available on the web. Organizations that need Android or iOS access should consider alternatives that support those platforms.

Who it's for

BetterWorld identifies charities and nonprofits, schools and PTOs, sports teams and clubs, and community-serving individuals and businesses as audiences. Its variety of fundraising formats and unlimited campaigns can suit organizations running multiple kinds of drives. It is less compelling for groups that need mobile apps, or for those whose budget cannot absorb processing fees and, on Flex or paid plans, platform fees.

Pros and cons

Pros: A broad set of fundraising formats is included on every plan, so organizations can run varied campaigns without paying for individual tools.
Pros: Unlimited campaigns and teammates avoid caps on activity or staff access across plans.
Pros: Automatic donor tracking and a large integration offering can connect fundraising with donor records and other services.
Cons: Standard processing fees apply even on the 0% platform-fee plan, and donors covering them is optional rather than guaranteed.
Cons: Flex adds a 2.2-5% platform fee despite costing 0.00 USD per free, which can make its total cost less predictable.
Cons: The platform is web-only, and the more specialized support and CRM services require an annual paid plan.

Alternatives

For peer-to-peer-focused options, compare Peer-to-Peer Fundraising Software and 99Pledges, which offers a free web plan with no contracts or subscriptions and charges 3.49% + $0.49 per transaction, with no fundraising minimums and U.S.-only availability. FundRazr is another free-plan option; its Optional Tips plan has no platform fee, with payment processing of 2.9% + $0.30 and 95% of donors covering fees.

Organizations comparing broader nonprofit platforms can browse Nonprofit Fundraising Software. GoFundMe Pro has a free plan and an Essentials offering described for nonprofits with annual revenue under $1 million, with no subscription or setup costs and access to its core product suite. KindLink offers a free-forever plan with unlimited supporter and donor records, beneficiary records, and transaction history; it supports Android and web.

For online donation needs, see Nonprofit Online Donation Software. GiveSignup has no subscription or monthly fee and supports Android, iOS, and web, with transaction-based processing. GivenGain has no subscription or setup fees for charities, events, or corporate partners and supports Android, iOS, and web.

Groups focused on matching gifts can compare Nonprofit Matching Gift Software. For auction-specific needs, Charity Auction Software is the more targeted category. RallyUp offers a free plan with no platform fee and optional donor tipping at checkout, while Enthuse offers a free Mass Participation plan with a 0% platform fee and a payment provider fee of 1.9% + 30p; both provide alternatives to assess against BetterWorld’s fundraising mix.

Verdict

BetterWorld is a strong fit for nonprofits and community groups that want varied fundraising formats, donor management, and unlimited campaigns and teammates in one web platform. Its main advantage is breadth without tool-by-tool plan restrictions. Look elsewhere if mobile apps are essential or fees are the deciding factor: processing charges apply across plans, and Flex and paid plans add platform fees.
