Overview

Beamer brings product announcements and user feedback into an embeddable engagement tool. Its changelog and notification center give product and marketing teams a place to share updates, while announcement formats and audience targeting help direct messages to selected users. A separate Feedback product adds an ideas portal and roadmap for gathering and discussing suggestions.

Beamer was founded in 2018 and is headquartered in Boulder, Colorado, United States. The listed platforms are Android, iOS, web, and API. Its pricing model is freemium, with a free plan and a 14-day trial for paid plans.

Key features

Announcements and targeting

Boosted announcements can appear as pop-ups, top bars, snippets, or tooltips. Beamer supports basic segmentation as well as advanced AND/OR rules, giving teams options for selecting which user groups receive a message. The pricing page also lists push notifications for reaching users who are offline on a site or app.

Feedback and roadmap

The Feedback product lets users submit ideas, vote on proposals, and comment through an ideas portal and roadmap. Listed capabilities include in-app feedback, feature requests, NPS surveys, and sentiment analysis. NPS and Feedback are also offered as separately priced add-ons.

Integrations and installation

Teams can install Beamer using an HTML/JavaScript embed, WordPress plugin, Google Tag Manager, or API. Listed integration options include Zapier, Segment, webhooks, and social sharing, alongside the API and WordPress plugin.

Security and service information

Beamer states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, and that it encrypts data in transit and at rest. It also says customer data is backed up and service uptime is over 99.9%. Support levels listed across plans range from basic through standard, advanced, and priority to enterprise support.

Pricing

Beamer has a free plan and paid plans. The pricing note lists paid access from $49/mo (annual) and a 14-day trial. The detailed plan figures supplied for Starter, Pro, and Scale are substantially higher than that entry price, so check the applicable plan and billing terms before choosing. The listed amounts and inclusions are:

Who it's for

Beamer is aimed at product and marketing teams that need to publish updates and communicate with users, and at teams seeking a structured way to collect product suggestions. The Custom plan includes enterprise-oriented security review and onboarding options. Verdict

Beamer is a combined announcement and feedback tool for teams that want to communicate product changes and gather ideas through a portal and roadmap. Its targeting, multiple announcement formats, installation choices, and listed security measures provide a broad set of capabilities. The main decision points are whether the free tier's limits are sufficient, whether paid plan pricing fits the intended use, and whether separately priced feedback or NPS features are needed.
