Overview

Alongside POS and inventory, ParallelPOS combines payroll, customer management, scheduling, marketing, security and reporting. That range can reduce the need to stitch together separate tools, particularly for operators with several stores. The trade-off is a substantial monthly commitment at each location, even though the company says it charges no per-register or per-employee fees.

Key features

Checkout is paired with live inventory, low-stock alerts, inter-store transfers and AI reorder suggestions. Those tools address everyday stock control as well as movement between locations; smart reordering and purchase-order drafting are reserved for Premium and higher tiers.

Team tools span payroll, commissions, scheduling, clock-in, messaging and an employee portal. Analytics cover profit margins, cash flow and break-even performance. AI features include business Q&A, report summaries, demand forecasts, reordering and marketing content, with access varying by tier.

Payments name Stripe, Apple Pay, Visa and Mastercard, with card processing handled by Stripe. ParallelPOS says it does not store full card numbers on its servers and encrypts connected-account access tokens. Its privacy policy also says it does not sell personal data. Optional connections include Google services, Meta, TikTok, Mailchimp and WordPress, among others.

Onboarding may help teams set up locations, staff and inventory; live chat is not described as round-the-clock.

Pricing

All plans are billed monthly per location. Locations can use different tiers, but the main office runs the account's highest tier. The company says there are no per-register or per-employee fees.

Basic — 149.99 USD per month per location: Dashboards, POS, inventory, HR, expenses, reports, CRM, a 24/7 tech support copilot and an AI security agent. It is the entry point for businesses wanting core operations in one package, but does not include the advanced analytics and team tools of higher tiers.
Advanced — 219.99 USD per month per location: Basic features plus statistics, chat, advanced reports, an ask-anything AI copilot, natural-language search, dashboard insights, AI report summaries and automatic expense categorization. It suits operators who want richer reporting and AI assistance without Premium's scheduling and communication package.
Premium — 299.99 USD per month per location: Advanced features plus team communication, scheduling, remote-location clock-in, smart reordering and purchase-order drafting, CRM insights, payroll anomaly checks, a daily AI digest, and Google Ads and analytics tools. This is the tier to consider when staff coordination and more guided stock decisions matter.
Enterprise — 499.99 USD per month per location: Premium features plus warehouse and wholesale tools, light manufacturing, lot tracking, work orders, a receptionist phone line, Fleet and Field apps, and 29 Enterprise reports. Its specialist operations features are aimed at businesses that need more than standard shop management.
Marketing+ — 499.99 USD per month per location: Includes one Premium account and Premium features, plus a Content Hub for Facebook, Instagram, Google, TikTok, YouTube and blogs, a website editor, SEO tools, a campaign builder and a content studio. It is the marketing-focused route rather than the warehouse and manufacturing expansion.
Marketing+ Enterprise — 689.99 USD per month per location: Includes all Marketing+ and Enterprise modules, for operators needing both sets of tools.

Because the main office takes the account's highest tier, a higher-tier location can affect the account tier even when other locations use cheaper plans. That structure deserves attention when budgeting a multi-store rollout.

Platforms

ParallelPOS supports iOS, Linux, macOS, web and Windows. That mix accommodates businesses using both desktop systems and Apple mobile devices.

Who it's for

ParallelPOS is aimed at small shops and growing businesses as well as multi-store and enterprise operators. Its strongest case is for a retailer that wants POS, inventory and staff or reporting tools under one roof, and can match each location to an appropriate paid tier. A small shop that only needs checkout, or a business that wants a free starting point, should compare simpler or no-cost options before committing.

Pros and cons

Pro: POS, inventory, HR, CRM, expenses and reporting sit within one platform, which can suit operators trying to consolidate business workflows.
Pro: Location-specific tiers and no per-register or per-employee fees make the pricing structure easier to map to stores than to headcount or till count.
Pro: Inventory transfers and upper-tier reorder tools address multi-store stock movement as well as replenishment.
Con: There is no free plan, and even Basic costs 149.99 USD per month per location.
Con: Scheduling, remote clock-in and smart reordering begin at Premium, so businesses wanting those capabilities face a higher per-location price.
Con: The main office runs the account's highest tier, which can complicate tier-by-tier budgeting across locations.

Verdict

ParallelPOS is a strong fit for shops and growing multi-location businesses that want checkout, stock control and broader operations in one system, especially when its higher-tier tools match real needs at particular locations. Its main reason to choose it is that breadth; its main reason to look elsewhere is the recurring per-location cost, compounded by the account's highest-tier rule. Start with Basic only if its core suite is enough, and move up when the added capabilities justify the higher monthly spend.
