Overview

Avature combines an ATS with tools that cover several stages of the employee journey. Its recruiting workflows can be adapted across regions, business units, brands, and hiring models, while its talent-management offerings extend to areas such as onboarding, learning, and internal mobility. That range gives complex organizations room to bring distinct processes together, but buyers should be sure they need more than a conventional recruiting system.

The company was founded in 2005, and its history traces the beginning of Avature to 2004. Its ATS is expressly suited to large enterprises managing complex recruitment across regions, brands, and role types.

Key features

Recruiting teams can configure workflows, approvals, data capture, and hiring processes around different organizational structures and hiring models. Career sites, interview scheduling, and workflow automation are also supported. This flexibility is useful where hiring practices vary across a business; it is less compelling for teams that can use the same simple process for every role.

Beyond the ATS, Avature offers candidate relationship management, onboarding, internal mobility, learning and development, performance management, succession planning, and HR case management. Organizations seeking a broader talent platform can consider those capabilities alongside recruiting rather than treating the product as an ATS alone.

AI features in the ATS include semantic search, candidate matching, applicant ranking, job recommendations, chatbot functionality, and configurable AI agents. Avature also offers more than 300 out-of-the-box integrations, an open API framework, and both self-service and full-service integration options. That integration range can help connect the platform to an existing software environment, though buyers should assess which integrations and services their implementation requires.

Avature lists ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II certifications and says it received FedRAMP Authorized status in April 2025. Its controls include SAML single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, IP allowlisting, role-based access, and full-disk and field-specific encryption. The company says it runs weekly automated vulnerability scans, commissions third-party penetration tests twice a year, and subjects each release to more than 10,000 tests.

Pricing

Avature is paid software with custom pricing. Organizations should request a quote and weigh the cost against the recruiting and talent-management scope they plan to use. This model is a poor match for buyers who need a published entry price to compare options or a self-serve plan.

Platforms

Avature is available on Android, iOS, and the web, and provides an API. For hosting, customers can choose Avature’s private cloud, with data centers in the US, Europe, and Asia, or AWS public cloud hosting available worldwide. Technical support is available in English, German, French, Spanish, and Mandarin, with cases tracked through the Customer Portal.

Who it's for

Avature is best suited to large employers coordinating hiring across multiple regions, brands, business units, and role types, especially when they also want talent-management capabilities on the same platform. Companies with straightforward hiring needs or a preference for transparent, off-the-shelf pricing should look for a narrower or more directly priced option.

Pros and cons

Pros: Configurable recruiting processes can accommodate varied regional and organizational needs rather than forcing every team into one hiring model.
Pros: Recruiting sits alongside a broad set of talent-management solutions, which may suit employers seeking coverage beyond hiring.
Pros: More than 300 out-of-the-box integrations, an open API, and multiple hosting choices offer options for enterprise environments.
Pros: Its listed access controls, certifications, and security testing practices address security needs relevant to large organizations.
Cons: Custom pricing makes it harder to assess fit against a budget before engaging with the vendor.
Cons: Its enterprise orientation and breadth can be excessive for teams with simple recruiting processes or no need for wider talent tools.

Alternatives

For a candidate-experience-focused option, Phenom Candidate Experience is a paid web and API product with pricing and RFP details by request.

Readers comparing recruiting systems can browse Applicant Tracking Systems, while those focused on candidate engagement can compare Candidate Experience Software. iCIMS is a paid alternative. Hirebridge Engage has a Starter plan at 399.00 USD per month, billed $399/mo, for up to 25,000 candidate records and 5,000 emails monthly, with $6 per 1,000 emails over the limit. Buyers comparing recruiting CRM tools can also browse Recruiting CRM Software or Candidate Relationship Management Software.

Other paid alternatives include Zappyhire, a web product, and Jobylon, also available on the web. Sense has no free plan or trial; its Sense SMS/WhatsApp Messaging plan starts at 500.00 USD per month and includes 1:1 and bulk messaging, conversation search, message templates, and shared inboxes. inploi uses custom pricing based on hiring size, with indicative pricing shared after understanding scale and without pricing per application or hire. For adjacent needs, see HR Service Delivery Software and Contingent Workforce Management Software.

Verdict

Choose Avature if you are a large organization that needs configurable recruiting across a complex structure and wants talent-management functions on the same platform. Its flexibility, integration options, and hosting choices are the main reasons to consider it. Look elsewhere if you need a simpler recruiting tool or clear, published pricing before starting a vendor conversation.
