Overview

Keyword Tool turns a seed term into long-tail suggestions drawn from autocomplete across 16 platforms. It suits marketers and SEO teams who need keyword ideas across search, video, retail and social channels, with paid metrics when suggestions alone are not enough. Its no-account free tool is useful for a first pass, while the paid plans add research metrics and higher daily capacity.

Key features

Enter a seed term to generate autocomplete suggestions on platforms including Google, YouTube, Bing, Amazon, TikTok, Reddit, Pinterest and Google Trends. That breadth helps teams explore where audiences search and discover content; it does not make the results equally authoritative across every source. Google and Bing metrics come from their planner ecosystems, while volumes for other platforms are modeled from clickstream signals.

Paid plans add search volume, cost per click, competition scores, device breakdown and historical trends. They also enrich up to 1,000 keywords per request, with daily capacity determined by plan. Google localization spans more than 190 countries, 68,000 locations and 50 languages, which is useful for geographically specific research.

Web, API and MCP access are included in paid plans, with Claude, Cursor and ChatGPT named as compatible assistants. These routes draw from the same daily request pool, so using integrations does not provide a separate allowance. Available MCP tools can also vary by endpoint, plan and rollout status.

Pricing

The free plan is free and generates up to 750+ Google autocomplete keywords without an account. It is a low-friction way to collect ideas, but it does not include the paid research metrics. There is no free trial.

Starter: 68.00 USD per month; 50 requests/day, 50,000 keywords/day, 12 months of history, 16 platforms, and web, MCP and API access. A reasonable entry point for solo research, though the shared request pool is limited.
Growth: 148.00 USD per month; 100 requests/day, 100,000 keywords/day, 24 months of history, 16 platforms, and web, MCP and API access. It doubles Starter's daily allowances and extends the history, making it better suited to sustained team workloads.
Scale: 308.00 USD per month; 200 requests/day, 200,000 keywords/day, 48 months of history, 16 platforms, and web, MCP and API access. Its longer history and larger capacity suit heavier ongoing research.
Agency: 628.00 USD per month; 400 requests/day, 400,000 keywords/day, 48 months of history, 16 platforms, and web, MCP and API access. The largest standard allowance is the fit for agencies with substantial daily demand.
Enterprise & Custom: custom pricing, with custom daily request and keyword-volume limits, custom API/MCP usage and enterprise procurement support.

Paid subscriptions have a 30-day money-back guarantee. Subscribers can cancel in account settings at any time without a cancellation fee or lock-in contract; support handles refund requests within the guarantee period and custom subscription inquiries.

Platforms

Keyword Tool is available on the web and through an API. Paid plans also include MCP access. Research sources span 16 platforms, but the product itself is listed for web and API rather than native mobile apps.

Who it's for

Solo marketers, SEO and content professionals, PPC managers, growing businesses, in-house teams and agencies can use it to expand seed terms into cross-platform keyword ideas. The free tool fits occasional Google autocomplete discovery; paid plans make more sense when search metrics, historical context, bulk enrichment or integrations are part of regular work. Teams that need separate request pools or independently verified volume estimates across every platform should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: No-account access to 750+ Google autocomplete keywords makes initial discovery accessible without a subscription.
Pro: Sixteen research platforms and extensive Google localization support broader channel and market exploration.
Pro: Paid plans combine research metrics, bulk enrichment and web/API/MCP access, giving frequent users several ways to work with results.
Con: Other-platform volumes are modeled estimates, so they should not be treated as planner-sourced figures.
Con: Web, API and MCP consume one shared daily request pool, which can constrain teams splitting work across interfaces.
Con: Paid plans begin at 68.00 USD per month and there is no trial, so the free tool is the only no-cost evaluation route.

Alternatives

For broader keyword research options, compare the Keyword Research Tools category. Readers focused on social hashtag tracking can browse Social Media Hashtag Tracking Software or the Hashtag Generator Tools category; those are better starting points when hashtag work, rather than cross-platform keyword research, is the priority.

HashtagsForLikes is a more focused option for hashtag analysis, with a free plan and a Pro plan at 19.00 USD per month that includes unlimited searches, analytics and trends, scoring and saved campaigns. Choose it when hashtag performance is the goal and Keyword Tool's wider keyword-source coverage is unnecessary. Circleboom Twitter Hashtag Tracker is worth considering for Twitter hashtag work; its free tier previews features for one profile and includes a Twitter Search Tool.

For social listening rather than keyword discovery, Brand24 has paid plans and a free trial. Rival IQ is another paid option with a free plan and trial. RiteTag offers hashtag suggestions via browser extensions and mobile apps, with 1,000 suggestion queries per month on its 49.00 USD per year plan. Content Stage is a web-based freemium option for planning social content, while Tagboard uses organization-specific annual pricing. Cool Tabs Social Listening is a paid web option with a free trial and plans starting at 49.00 USD per month.

Verdict

Keyword Tool is a strong fit for marketers who need autocomplete-based ideas across many platforms and want paid metrics, historical data and integrations in one workflow. Its free, accountless Google suggestions make it easy to start, but the paid entry price, shared request pool and modeled volumes on non-Google and non-Bing sources make it less suitable for occasional users or anyone requiring equally grounded metrics everywhere.
