Overview

Armor provides cloud security and compliance services for organizations, including managed detection and response. Its offerings span endpoint protection, continuous monitoring and response, and controls for regulated cloud environments. The company says it serves organizations in 40 countries and supports markets including healthcare, finance, and manufacturing.

Armor’s services combine software capabilities with security operations support. Its global Security Operations Center is described as providing round-the-clock threat detection, threat hunting, incident investigation, and rapid remediation. Customers can use Armor’s Nexus portal to see investigated threats and the actions taken by Armor’s team.

Armor identifies its company as Armor Defense Inc.; it was founded in 2009 and lists its headquarters in Plano, Texas, with additional offices in Singapore, Pune, and London. For a broader look at this category, see the Cloud Security Platforms directory.

Key features

Armor Agent plans include malware protection, file integrity monitoring, intrusion prevention, and vulnerability scanning with patch monitoring. The Premium Tier adds security alerts, log search, threat intelligence, threat hunting, support, and 24×7 SOC monitoring. A free tier is listed for up to five endpoints, with the core protection tools and a toolbox.

Armor MDR provides 24/7 monitoring and triage, threat hunting, and response that can include containment and remediation guidance. Armor describes its platform as using AI-assisted incident investigation, threat intelligence, MITRE ATT&CK mapping, and response time tracking. Its Nexus portal gives customers a real-time view of investigated threats and response actions.

Armor Enterprise Cloud (AEC) is aimed at organizations needing security controls and audit support for regulated environments. Armor lists hardened operating systems, malware protection, file integrity management, vulnerability and patch management, intrusion detection and prevention, disaster recovery, DDoS mitigation, a web application firewall, SIEM log management, and continuous threat hunting. It says AEC includes more than 600 controls and automated mapping to major compliance standards, as well as cyber insurance coverage.

Armor says it addresses HIPAA, PCI DSS, GDPR, SOC 2, NIST CSF, and ISO 27001. The platform integrates with Microsoft and Oracle cloud environments and can work alongside customers’ existing Microsoft security tools. Armor Dash connects to source systems through an API, quantifies cyber risk in dollars using FAIR, and tracks compliance across several frameworks.

Pricing

Armor uses a freemium model. The Agent Free Tier is available for up to five endpoints, but its price is not listed. Armor Agent Premium Tier costs 99.00 USD per month, billed per endpoint, with no endpoint limit. The listed paid starting price is $99/mo.

Armor Managed Detection and Response (MDR) is listed at 4380500.00 USD per contact, with pricing dependent on coverage and scope. Its stated starting point is $4,380/month for 500 endpoints. The plan includes 24×7 SOC monitoring, compliance management, cloud-native SIEM, and automation.

Armor Enterprise Cloud pricing is not listed; the company says it depends on scope and asks prospective customers to request a quote or demo. The available details distinguish the free endpoint tier, per-endpoint Premium pricing, and scope-based managed and enterprise services, so buyers should confirm which coverage and endpoint counts fit their requirements.

Platforms

Armor lists API, Linux, web, and Windows among its supported platforms. Its capabilities include cloud posture management, workload protection, and container security. The integration information specifically names Microsoft and Oracle cloud environments, along with compatibility with customers’ existing Microsoft security tools.

Who it's for

Armor is positioned for organizations that need ongoing security monitoring and response, endpoint protection, or cloud compliance support. Healthcare, finance, and manufacturing are among the markets it identifies for tailored support and compliance controls. The free Agent tier may suit a small endpoint footprint, while the Premium tier is billed per endpoint and MDR and AEC pricing depend on scope.

Organizations evaluating regulated-cloud controls can consider AEC’s listed audit support and framework coverage. Those looking for continuous analyst involvement can weigh MDR’s monitoring, triage, threat hunting, and response services, while Armor Dash is relevant to teams seeking API-connected risk quantification and compliance tracking.

Pros and cons

Pros: A free tier covers up to five endpoints, and the Premium Tier has a clearly listed monthly per-endpoint price.
Pros: MDR combines 24/7 monitoring and triage with threat hunting and response, while AEC lists a broad set of security controls and compliance support.
Pros: Armor describes integrations with Microsoft and Oracle cloud environments and says its tools can work with existing Microsoft security tools.
Cons: Free-tier pricing is not listed, and the MDR and AEC offerings have scope-dependent pricing that requires clarification.
Cons: The available platform list names API, Linux, web, and Windows, but does not provide further compatibility detail here.

Alternatives

Other options in this category include Kubescape, Prowler Cloud, and Skyhigh Private Access. Buyers can also compare AccuKnox, C3M Cloud Control, and ARMO Platform, alongside OpenCNAPP and Qualys TotalCloud.

Verdict

Armor brings endpoint protection, managed detection and response, and compliance-focused cloud controls under one provider. Its clearest listed entry point is the Premium Tier at 99.00 USD per month per endpoint, while the free tier is capped at five endpoints. MDR and Enterprise Cloud offer broader services, but both require buyers to resolve scope and pricing before comparing costs. Armor is most relevant to organizations that value continuous security operations support and need cloud security or compliance capabilities alongside it.
