Overview

Studio combines voice morphing, speech generation, cloning, cleanup, and editing in one product. Its distinguishing approach is Speech-to-Speech, Performance-to-Performance morphing: it changes the voice while retaining the speaker’s performance, useful when delivery matters as much as vocal identity. Recorded-audio editing and real-time changing are both supported, with audio export for finished work.

It spans transcription and translation in 75+ languages and text-to-speech voice-over in 70+ languages. That is useful for multilingual production, though those counts apply to different functions. Rapid Voice Clone uses 4–8 seconds of audio; custom voice models require contacting Altered.

Key features

Production and live workflows

Alongside morphing and text-to-speech, Studio includes AI voice cleaning, denoising, audio editing, DSP effects, and batch processing. This breadth can reduce the need to move speech between separate tools, especially for creators handling both recordings and live sessions. The online Voice Editor can work with files in Google Drive. RealTime Pro routes audio through a virtual microphone to Discord, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet, extending voice changes to calls and collaborative sessions.

Altered says RealTime Pro processes locally on the PC and keeps voice data on the PC; enterprise customers can also use cloud computing. Google Drive access is optional, and Google user data is used only to provide or improve user-facing application features. The maker also says it takes measures against illegal or harmful use and may decline clients whose conduct or intentions are unclear.

Pricing

The freemium structure gives users a way to try core morphing, but the free allowance is small for regular production. Free costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 3 minutes/month of voice morphing, 10,000 AI Tokens, local voice cloning, and an attribution license; noncommercial use requires credit.

Creator costs 30.00 USD per month, billed annually. Its 60 minutes/month of voice morphing and 325,000 AI tokens suit individual creators with recurring but bounded workloads. It adds accent and speaking-style morphing over the free plan, while still imposing a monthly morphing allowance.

Professional costs 90.00 USD per month, billed annually. With 180 minutes/month, 1,000,000 AI tokens, unlimited local morphing, flexible and performance morphing, and 48kHz output, it is aimed at heavier production where output quality and broader morphing options justify the step up. The minutes quota remains relevant even alongside unlimited local morphing.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes unlimited voice morphing and tokens, custom voice models, API access, multiple seats, and a dedicated account manager. It is the fit for organizations needing integration or shared access rather than a single creator’s allowance. The 7-day trial offers a short evaluation window; paid plans are billed annually, so buyers should weigh recurring needs before committing.

Platforms

Studio supports macOS, Windows, web, and API, with recorded-audio support, real-time changing, and a virtual microphone. The API is offered to Enterprise customers. Desktop use requires a Windows PC with an 8GB+ Nvidia GPU, and Altered Studio is not currently supported on mobile devices. That makes it a poor fit for phone-first workflows despite its web access.

Who it's for

Studio is strongest for podcasters, video game studios, and eLearning teams that need voice transformation plus production tools, or creators combining recorded and live workflows. Its language coverage and short-input cloning can help with varied voice projects. It is less compelling for occasional use constrained by the free tier, mobile-only users, or buyers without the required Windows desktop hardware.

Pros and cons

Pro: Morphing preserves the speaker’s performance, which suits projects where timing and delivery should remain intact while the voice changes.
Pro: Editing, cleanup, denoising, DSP effects, and batch processing sit alongside generation and cloning, supporting a wider production workflow.
Pro: RealTime Pro works through a virtual microphone with major meeting and chat apps, while local processing keeps voice data on the PC according to Altered.
Con: The free tier’s 3 minutes/month of morphing is restrictive for sustained work.
Con: Desktop use requires a Windows PC with an 8GB+ Nvidia GPU, and mobile devices are unsupported.
Con: Creator and Professional are billed annually, and their morphing allowances may not suit unpredictable or high-volume workloads.

Verdict

Choose Altered Studio if you need voice morphing that retains performance, plus generation and production tools for both recorded and real-time work. Its breadth and enterprise options make it a strong fit for professional creators and teams; look elsewhere if you need mobile support, cannot meet the desktop GPU requirement, or need more predictable costs than annual plans and monthly quotas allow.
