Overview

Altegio brings appointment scheduling and client management together with operational tools for service businesses, including salons. Clients can book around the clock through a widget linked from a business website, social media, WhatsApp, or Google Maps. Staff can work from a calendar backed by visit history, preferences, notes, and client contact details.

That broader scope is useful for teams that want booking and back-office workflows in one platform, rather than a calendar alone. Its integrations vary by region, and the subscription price is in HUF before VAT, which may complicate budgeting for businesses paying in another currency.

Key features

Bookings, calendars, and client records

The booking widget supports self-service appointments, while staff calendars and cancellation controls help manage the schedule. Client records retain visit history and preferences, giving teams context for returning customers. Automated confirmations and reminders can go out by WhatsApp, SMS, or email.

Business operations

Finance reporting, payroll calculation, inventory tracking, analytics, and loyalty programs extend Altegio beyond appointment management. These tools make it a more relevant option for businesses coordinating staff and stock as well as bookings, though the platform’s value will be less clear to a solo operator who only needs a simple calendar.

Payments, integrations, and security

Online payment systems and POS, accounting, website, and social integrations are among the options, depending on region; the platform also supports API and webhooks. Altegio says PCI DSS-compliant systems process online transactions and that it does not collect customers’ banking data. It states that its infrastructure is hosted in Hetzner data centres in Germany, that it follows GDPR, and that data is transmitted using TLS 1.2.

Pricing

Altegio is paid, with no free plan. All subscriptions include the full feature set; price depends on team size and license term, with no per-appointment fee or appointment cap. The prices below are shown for team members, cover unlimited countries, and exclude VAT:

1 month: 7490.00 HUF per month, billed 7 490 Ft for 1 month.
3 months: 22470.00 HUF per month, billed 22 470 Ft for 4 months, including 1 bonus month.
6 months: 44940.00 HUF per month, billed 44 940 Ft for 9 months, including 3 bonus months.
12 months: 89880.00 HUF per year, billed 89 880 Ft for 1 year 9 months, including 9 bonus months.

Since each term includes the full feature set, choosing a longer subscription is chiefly a commitment to its billing term in exchange for bonus months, not access to a different tier. The seven-day trial includes every feature, requires no payment card, and does not automatically charge at its end, making it a low-friction way to evaluate the full product before paying.

Platforms

Altegio supports Android, iOS, web, and API access. That range suits teams combining mobile use with browser-based management or custom integrations.

Who it's for

Altegio is a good fit for appointment-based businesses, including beauty salons, and for chains or franchises managing multiple locations from one account. It is especially suitable when the same team needs bookings, client records, staff calendars, payments, inventory, and payroll in one system. A business that wants a free plan, or only needs basic scheduling without broader operations tools, is better served by a narrower or freemium option.

Pros and cons

Pro: Full feature access during the seven-day trial, without a card or automatic charge, lets a business evaluate more than the booking calendar.
Pro: No per-appointment fee or appointment cap makes the subscription easier to assess for busy schedules.
Pro: Scheduling, client records, payroll, inventory, and finance tools can serve multi-location operators from one account.
Con: There is no free plan, so continued use requires a paid subscription.
Con: Prices are in HUF and exclude VAT, which may make the total cost less straightforward for businesses budgeting in another currency.
Con: Integrations depend on region, so a business should confirm that its preferred payment, POS, or accounting connections are available locally.

Alternatives

Salonist is worth considering if a free plan matters: its free Marketplace Listing includes 50 appointments per month, online booking, calendar and scheduling, and staff shift management. Phorest is another paid salon platform, with Starter, Grow, and Complete Advantage plans and unlimited devices and staff on the first two.

Salonized offers a paid option with a free trial and an Appointments plan at 21.00 EUR per month; annual billing is available with a 10% discount, and extra employees and locations carry added charges. Mangomint uses a location fee of 120.00 USD per month plus a 10.00 USD monthly user fee, a different cost structure for businesses comparing per-location and per-user charges.

Kitomba is another paid salon software option, while Timely starts with a Build plan at 26.00 USD per month that includes 100 SMS per month per staff. Beauta offers a 1 Month plan at 59.00 NZD per month with access to all features and up to 15 staff, with online payment surcharges and SMS reminder fees charged separately. Zoho Shifts is a freemium alternative with a free plan for up to 25 users and basic scheduling.

For narrower comparisons, explore salon staff scheduling software, salon appointment scheduling software, esthetician software, salon payroll software, and salon CRM software.

Verdict

Choose Altegio if your service business needs more than a booking calendar and wants appointment management connected to client records, payroll, inventory, and finance. Its full-feature trial and uncapped appointments are compelling for evaluating and running a busy operation. Look elsewhere if a free plan is essential or if HUF pricing before VAT does not fit your budget.
