Overview

AlignMint is a web-based nonprofit platform that brings fund accounting, fundraising, donor records, volunteer coordination, events, payments, workspace tools, and reporting together. The aim is to let teams manage financial and operational information in one place, rather than separating each function into a different workflow. AlignMint says it was built by nonprofit directors.

For finance teams, the ledger tracks restricted and unrestricted funds by purpose, supports approvals, and uses the same records to prepare reports. Fund tracking, grant management, budget-versus-actuals reporting, program tracking, and an audit trail are among its listed capabilities. Donor profiles can hold gifts, receipts, recurring gifts, pledges, notes, and follow-up. Volunteer tools cover profiles, signups, schedules, service hours, background checks, and event assignments. Event features include registration, tickets, check-in, attendance, and revenue reporting.

Minty, AlignMint’s AI assistant, answers plain-English questions using live nonprofit data, links to reports, and can carry out selected actions after confirmation. It is limited to 50 messages per day per user, shared between the full-page assistant and the header dropdown. Monthly Minties allowances also vary by plan.

AlignMint describes its security approach as isolated organization data, encryption in transit and at rest, regular backups with redundant storage, and customer export access. It says customers own their data and that it never sells donor data. A notable gap for event teams is that tax collection is unsupported.

Who it's for

AlignMint is designed for nonprofit teams spanning finance, fundraising, programs, volunteers, and leadership. Its unified records may suit organizations that want accounting, donor management, and event or volunteer operations connected. The donation thresholds and user, storage, and Minties caps are useful plan-fit considerations: Free is limited to eligible organizations with up to $100K in annual donations, while larger teams may need Plus, Pro, or Enterprise.

Verdict

AlignMint’s main distinction is its breadth: accounting, donor management, fundraising, volunteer coordination, events, and reporting are presented as parts of one nonprofit platform. Free provides a no-cost starting point for eligible organizations, while fund accounting begins at Plus, listed at $142/mo billed $1,704 billed annually. Teams should weigh the plan caps and card-processing fee against their needs, and event organizers should note the lack of tax collection support. Enterprise may fit organizations needing unlimited users, storage, funds, and organizations, but its price is personalized rather than listed.
