Overview

LOVERSE is an AI dating and matching service for people who want a romance experience with fictional AI matches rather than other users. It is best suited to adults in Japan who are comfortable with a bounded, service-only interaction. Its free plan offers a way to explore, but monthly message and like limits make it a starting point rather than an unrestricted experience.

Key features

LOVERSE presents thousands of AI matches and offers a compatibility diagnosis based on birth date. Visitors can browse without registering; sending likes or messages requires email registration. This lowers the barrier to exploring the match pool, though participation requires sharing an email address.

The matches may follow their own routines, reply late, or fail to match, according to the maker, which cites Japanese Patent No. 7418684. That can make the experience feel less like an always-available chatbot, but it also means replies and matches are not assured. Users communicate with AI matches only: they cannot contact other users through LOVERSE or meet or communicate with matches outside the service. The maker describes the interactions as fictional.

Identity verification and photo registration are not required, and users can interact without revealing themselves to matches. That is a limited form of privacy, not anonymity from the service: the privacy policy says it may collect device information, IP address, logs, cookies, location, browsing history, and browser information. It also says the operator takes measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, theft, loss, alteration, and disclosure.

The service has no sexual content, and its terms prohibit excessive sexual or violent messages. It does not offer voice chat. Coins can be used to buy gifts or messages; PayPay is currently supported for coin purchases, while premium membership accepts credit cards. Inquiries go through an online form.

Pricing

Plan	Price	What it includes
Free	0.00 USD per free	50 messages per month; 5 initial “interested” likes, then 1 daily, or 5 daily if never matched
Premium membership	Custom pricing	Unlimited messages and some features for mutually designated “important people”

The free plan is the sensible choice for browsing and trying a limited number of conversations. Its 50-message monthly allowance and constrained likes can interrupt regular use. Premium removes the message cap and adds some features for designated important people, making it the better fit for users who expect to message often. Coins are separate purchases for gifts or messages, with PayPay currently supported; premium accepts credit cards.

Platforms

LOVERSE is available on Android, iOS, and the web. The iOS and Android apps are options for phone users; web access offers another way to browse and use the service.

Who it's for

LOVERSE fits adults in Japan seeking fictional AI romance with no contact between users and no off-platform meetings. Browsing before registration and not needing to verify identity or upload a photo may suit people who want to explore without presenting themselves to matches. It is not for anyone seeking human dating, voice chat, sexual content, or interactions beyond the service. High school students and anyone under 18 may not use it. The privacy policy says the service is provided for Japan and asks people in other countries not to use it.

Pros and cons

Pros

Browse before registering. Visitors can explore matches without an account; email registration is required only to send likes or messages.
A defined free allowance. The free plan includes 50 messages a month and daily likes, enough to sample the service without committing to premium.
Private presentation to matches. Identity verification and photo registration are not required, and users can avoid revealing themselves to matches.
Clear boundaries around the experience. Interactions are fictional, with no user-to-user communication or contact beyond LOVERSE.

Cons

Free use is capped. Fifty monthly messages and limited likes may be restrictive for frequent conversations.
Replies and matches are uncertain. AI matches may reply late or not match at all.
Not a human dating service. Users cannot meet or communicate with matches outside the platform, or with other users through it.
Premium terms require attention at purchase. The amount and billing period are displayed during purchase, rather than stated here.
Japan-only audience guidance. The maker asks people outside Japan not to use the service.

Alternatives

Nomi AI is a freemium alternative on Android, iOS, and web, with a free plan and a 40-credit one-time purchase for 4.99 USD; choose it if you want a companion service with a defined paid credit option rather than LOVERSE’s Japan-focused dating format.

Nastia is a freemium option across Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Its free plan offers uncensored chat, daily token limits, and basic companion customization; choose it if those features or broader platform support matter more than LOVERSE’s fictional dating setup.

EVA AI is a freemium service for Android, iOS, and web with limited free access and a premium plan billed in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual installments; choose it if you prefer those installment options.

OurDream AI offers a free account with 55 dreamcoins at signup, 50 messages, and up to 10 AI characters, plus an annual subscription at 9.99 USD per year; consider it if character choice and a stated annual price suit you better.

Romantic AI is another freemium alternative with a free Basic plan offering limited access; consider it if you want to compare another service in this category.

Swipey AI has a free tier for creating a character, browsing its gallery and feed, and basic chat, with Premium at 7.99 USD per month; choose it if creating a character and browsing a feed are priorities.

VirtualGF offers free registration and profile creation, profile viewing, and reading incoming messages, with coin packages available as one-time purchases; consider it if that profile-based approach better fits your needs.

Coquette AI is web-only, with a free Flirt plan offering one companion, 50 messages a day, basic memory, and standard replies; its Romance plan costs 14.00 USD per month and includes all companions, unlimited messages, deep long-term memory, and voice. Choose it if you want a web-only option with a substantially larger daily free message allowance or voice.

Verdict

Choose LOVERSE if you are an adult in Japan looking for fictional AI dating, want to browse before registering, and are comfortable keeping all interaction inside the service. Its free plan gives a useful but limited entry point, while premium offers unlimited messages. Look elsewhere if you want human matches, contact beyond the app, voice chat, sexual content, or a service intended for use outside Japan.
